I have there in December 2008.a school trip :) this video is a brilliant work..well done. I remember those sea clouds seen from kalpokhri during the sunset and those glimpses of everest and kunchenjunga from sandakphu was amazing though sandakphu was the coldest of those places while gairybas was at lowest but gairybas was blessed with the beautiful rhododendron flowers and very efficient aconite medicinal plant. surrounded by an overwhelming greenary all around gairybas. it was an amazing trip of 10 days right from my school in the planes holi ganges to an altitude of 3612m at sandakphu and there by down to gurdum and rimbik in the mighty himalyas. best of all I have travelled yet in my life..I luv travelling I luv altitudes I luv oceans I luv rivers and I luv my india..motherland to all these nd us :)

Archana Sharad Thanks a lot Archana!! Glad you enjoyed the video.. :) I had purchased a cd in ravangla (sikkim) which had this music.. does not have any name unfortunately.. i will share the music with u via google drive if u need it..
the beauty of Sandakphu has been brilliantly captured through your lenses... i guess you have compiled the video from still images... my question to you is what software did you use to get the zooming and the panning effects?
+Risheen Mukherjee Hi risheen, when in Sandakphu trek, u dont want to miss out on the magnificent sunrise over Kangchenjunga.. So we woke up around 05:45 every day.. being nov-dec sunrise was usually around 06:15.. we left around 08:30 daily for next camp..
great video sir... I am going for the same trek in the month of May,2017... sir can you please advice some shoes for this trek under rs1000/-... Will a pair of sneakers do the job.. i have a pair of woodland bulldozer shoes but I feel they are heavy, non breathable and slippery on wet condition.. this is my first trek and I have no experience... and any other useful tips or suggestions would be of great help... thank you
Hi Prantik I had completed this trek in nike running shoes.. the terrain is easy.. if u decide to go with sneakers then ensure they are good quality ones.. also carry spare sandals for emergency in case sneakers give up.. Enjoy the trek.. :) its an extremely beautiful place..
Hello rupak.. thank u so much ☺️ I had purchased a cd at ravangla near samdruptse monastery.. cd had this music.. I don't think the cd had any name as such.. it sure is a wonderful music 😊
Hi, Could you tell me how many hours did you trek from manebanjan to kalipokri? and from there to sandakphu? how was the terrain and inclination? Thanks! btw , nice music ...can you share link if you have....
hello pranav.. we trekked from maneybhanjan till tonglu on day 1.. it took around 6 hrs.. terrain is easy but few parts at start and end are stiff.. tonglu to kalpokhari on day 2.. that was around 5 hrs.. pretty easy terrain.. kalpokhari to sandakphu on day 3.. stiff climb for 3 hours.. overall its an easy trek with unbelievable views.. i got this music from a CD i purchased in sikkim.. does not have any name :).. share me ur email address.. i will share it on google drive
Hi Sriram, Myself Richard and i Am from Bangladesh. I have no words to explain the beauty that u have shown us through ur video. I am planning To trek to Sandakphu On 20th March'16. Can you please let me know about the weather condition in march??? Is there possibilities to have clear view on that time?? Hope to Hear from u soon. Thanks a lot.
Richard Danny Hi Richard, mid march temperatures will be ideal.. winter would have just finished and summer yet to set in.. rhododendrons will be in full bloom at lower altitudes and thats an added bonus.. its really difficult to predict possibility of clear views.. u have a higher probability to get clear views as compared to april-may months and lower probability compared to november-december.. thats how it is.. :) keep ur fingers crossed and enjoy the trek..
Sriram Iyer Dear Sir, Thanks a lot for your kind reply... I might disturb you regarding information if you dont mind. Thanks again :-) much appreciated.
Hi Pavan, its unlikely there will be snowfall in early december on sandakphu route.. very clear views of Kangchenjunga are waiting for u :) if weather turns bad then u may experience snowfall.. but trekking in sandakphu will be even more fun with snow :) either way u will enjoy it..
Hi Vijay.. i guess u are a pro cycler.. if yes and u have lots of stamina then yes.. i did not see anyone doing this trek by cycle.. but roads are good enough to be doing it by cycle.. i am not aware of any agency which rents bicycle.. good luck!!
Hi Sriram! First of all this was a great video and helped a lot in planning my upcoming trip to Sandakphu. I had some questions regarding the accommodations. So as mentioned in the video at the end of Day1 you stayed at Tonglu trekkers hut. What about the rest of the days? like where did you take the night off on day 2,3,4? Would be great if i get some information regarding these. Cheers Thanks a lot for the video once again. :)
Hello akash 1) day 1 we stayed at tonglu trekker's hut 2) day 2 we stayed in a hotel at kalpokhari.. i dont recollect the name.. i vaguely remember the name hotel pandim.. not sure though.. sorry buddy.. 3) day 3 we stayed at trekker's hut at sandakphu 4) day 4 we stayed at the only hut in phalut.. its below phalut top.. a couple were running it.. 5) day 5 we stayed at a hotel in gorkhey.. 6) day 6 again we stayed at a hotel in rimbick i dont really remember the names of hotel now.. its been a long time.. but there are many.. so it should not be an issue.. all the best with your trek :) enjoy
That depends on what you want from the trek.. If its clear skies, great sunsets/sunrises and clear mountain views u are looking for then i guess oct-dec is the best time.. in autumn its chilly and clouds do not rise up the valley blocking the views.. If its rhododendron laden mountain sides u are looking for then i guess its march-april season..
i am not sure on this.. some nepali sim cards do capture signal over there.. our guide was using one.. bsnl network may be available on lower villages like tonglu and gorkhey..
