Wonderful video Sam! I actually work on the Dam Neck base and live near Sandbridge, and if the roads are flooded then the base does allow traffic to go through the base from Sandbridge and exit out the main gate on Dam Neck road. Like you said though it is rare and hopefully with the construction on the road this will limit flooding. Again, great video!
SO appreciate your comment. Thank you! From someone who has literally experienced what I'm talking about it's very helpful - I hope everyone will see your comment and help give them more context if they plan to move to the area.
yes i can confirm...they do open the base to let us through to come in and out. you forgot the baja resturant on the southside with dodgeball in the summer on tuesdays
Sandbridge is my Happy Place! I still get back whenever I come back to visit. I remember it before it built up so much. It’s still my beach that holds so much of my life experience.
Sandbridge was was formed by a huge Hurricane in 1600s, so it happenned once it can happen again. i mention this because he talked about :global warming and flooding. What global warming caused that Hurrican in the 1600s
Great question! Affordable is the biggest factor. The closer you want to be to the actual beach the more you'll spend during the summer months, whether that's a www.vrbo.com or AirBnb on Sandbridge, or a hotel close by. My suggestion if you don't need to be on the water and are willing to drive a bit is finding an AirBnb about 20-30 min drive from the beach. That way you're not too terribly far but you're also not paying the higher costs of being so close.
Sandbridge was our best kept secret for over 10 years. We love it there. Shhhhhh! Please keep it a secret heaven. I will also not disclose how to afford a beach front house, which we always rented. The building of those condos really pissed me off. IsMargie and Ray’s still on Sandbridge Road?
Sam Sansalone and a yearly vacationer’s for sure. Best she crab soup around! We went once or twice every year! 💕 My 25 and 28 year old grew up going to Sandbridge every summer. Wonderful memories. I hope to take grandchildren some day.
@@alyssarasmussen1723 we shared the beach front house rent between 3 families. The last time we went, we went for broke and had a smaller beachfront home for just us.
