As others have said below; it's now confirmed with the 2.0 update that David uses the militech apogee model with a nice 85% slowdown effect. What other's aren't saying is that it can be toggled on and off at will. This means, unlike in the past, you don't have to burn the entire duration in one go and then wait for the full cooldown. If you only use it for a few seconds, you get the entire duration back after just a few seconds. This is literally how David uses it; flicking it on and off in short bursts. As of 2.0 sandy builds are even more OP. if you model your playstyle after David then the duration and cooldown basically become irrelevant.
Because of this, higher duration maximum can actually help speed up the cooldown, as the same burst of time will be considered shorter and restore more of the cooldown.
You don't even need to burst it with the duration refresh on kill. I just went through the game and DLC and was clearing out entire rooms with a katana before anyone could blink.
@@thehybrid3947 Yeah, I get where you're coming from. but honestly I've never agreed with that take. It's a matter of perspective, I guess; I KNEW that the last gen (in my case PS4) version of the game was going to be inferior, poorly optimized, and incomplete. It couldn't have been more obviously a next gen launch title given the ambition and release window, so I always considered the last gen version to be an "early access" demo sort of situation. Just a way to tide people over until they could upgrade to next gen, and make a little return on investment to shut the shareholders up while they actually finished the "real" version of the game. Granted I didn't think it would take them three years to finish it, that's pretty shitty. But the fact remains; the last gen version of the game is not, and was never intended to be the definitive version. Last gen ports are always sub par, and that's what you've got. But hey, plus side, when you inevitably upgrade to a new console you can download the real version of Cyberpunk 2077 for free. Until then, you have my sympathy for dropping $70 on early access to a demo version based on a beta build. But the game was never intended to be all it could be on outdated and obsolete hardware. I thought that was obvious, but apparently it needed to be more clearly communicated.
@@Objectively_Correct Kerenzikov is always active. Which is why he didn't have to activate anything. Every time we see Sandevistan used in the show, it comes with an effect along with trails left in the users motion. Sandi also has the added benefit of not slowing the user. Big guy shows no evidence of using a Sande. That's why when his Kerenzikov allows him to react to David, he still can't physically keep up. You can see him moving still in a much slower way than David. David can easily go over him and kill him, being unrestrained by slow. This is a feature in the game where with Kerenzikov, you can react fast and even dodge bullets, but you are still slow yourself. While you can move and attack very fast under a Sande.

@@alexcavazos3341 PTSD, most of his body is chrome, an arm wich was already having technical problems since at least Pilar's death, constant abuse of a 85% time slow sandy and again PTSD wich is what all cyberpsychos seem to have in common appart from the excess of chrome.
I am using a Militech Falcon in my current playthrough, it is so incredibly versatile. The fact that it doesn't have a proper cool down just a charge time and the fact that it refreshes its duration some when you down an enemy means you can use it in short bursts for a variety of different situations. Just yesterday I was running through a base picking off guards and running right in front of people with the Sande, if you are quick enough their alert gauge won't fill all the way and you can run straight through rooms of enemies.
1.6 Sandy was already cool, but this update truly made it as OP as it's meant to be. Even more than the Cyberdeck if you have the right tools, which is a lot considering how broken that thing is lmao
@@wanaplay6923 I have to disagree and go with mainstream sandy supremacy. Having such a high time dilation ratio actually makes everything but melee unviable, the duration isn't that long, and the cool down is meh. The Mk4 has time dilation to accommodate some ranged weapons and melee, lasts longer, and the cool down is obviously insanely good.
@@clarencewalters338 alrighty, but I have to disagree cause I modify the " warp dancer " with processors that add extra time to it and get cooling cells that make all my attachments cool down twice if not three times as fast. So you can make a valid argument stating the mk4 has a much longer time set and cools off faster if you added the same things, but my choice of the Sandy's is still 15% faster.
Does the big gang-member have a sandevistan or just reflex mods. He looks down at David and reacts, but he swings much slower, and turns his head slow when david jumps behind him?
@@thebenancesmodesart If I remember correctly, the Krenzikov is always active in the canon of Cyberpunk, and we see that the thing the large gang member uses has to activate before he can react to David, which means the large gang member likely just had a much weaker Sandevistan than David did, hence why there was also no afterimages.
@@dripsnake44 Could be, the only knowledge I have is through my 20 something hours of the game, first playthrough and all that. So I'm only aware of the short burst uses of Krenzikov.

At first I thought Edgerunners took place decades before 2077, but turns out it was just about a year or two ago. NC sure moves fast, nothing left of David and his crew except his jacket and a few mentions at the Afterlife.
Zeros ability is more similar to a Kerenzikov. When Zero slows down time, his movements are also slowed down, but he can react and perceive things faster. If Zero was able to move at super speed while slowing down time then yes, it would be like he has a sandevistan.
How does David accelerate going back down? Wouldn't he still be constrained by gravity? Edit: This comment and anime were made prior to Patch 2.0 and the Air Dash skills
There is cyberware that gets rid of air resistance so he doesn't have a terminal velocity and can fall alot faster the air resist mods also stop people near him from dying when he breaks the sound barrier
One of the scariest things in Cyberpunk is when you have a decent Sandevistan equipped and an enemy still dodges your attack even when time is moving 60%-70% slower.
Man edgerunners is just an amazing anime also I'm not sure if I'm the only one but i watched it on both sub and dub and i feel like dub fits way more with edgerunners then sub
Why not both? Watched the English VA one first, was fantastic, might go back and watch it in Japanese just for the anime feel and funny quirks of Japanese in anime. They always seem to be way more expressive, assuming it's because it's a high context language vs English where it's more about what you're saying than how you're saying it.

But the more I think about it the more I think it's a QuianT Mk.5 with how fast David seems to move. But at the same time he clearly has very low cooldowns. Maybe a new/experimental model? A QuianT Mk.6 Prototype, if you will.

unlikely. We don't have any real AI yet. No computer is actually capable of independent thought, and due to limitations of how binary computers work i believe that it's not a software issue, but a hardware one. Human brains (or any brain for that matter) has 10^X interconnections. A binary computer doesn't have any interconnections and is completely linear. For this reason some completely new computer tech has to be developed to deviate away from linear data processing for a true artificial consciousness. Quantum computing is the best current shot, but i don't think it meets the bill either.
@oceanbytez847 ironically, recent research is suggesting the brain itself isn't remotely capable of handling consciousness by itself, in the same few months as the brain having quantum processes has been proven. So if consciousness is already a quantum function, it very well could be achieved with ai.
consciousness isnt produced by matter like the brain , its energy , a type of energy we cannot see hear touch etc that is its undetectable by our senses hence kind of invisible/ghost like. What the brain does is allows that invisible entity to enter a body or enter that energy which can allow it to interact with this physical world , and this kind of energy it enters is called matter. Matter is just energy which "we" can see in this physical world. so brain in itself is just a tool allowing this consciousness to manifest or express its 1 percent of energy but ultimately consciousness is one big indivisible mass of infinity. Bottom line , Ai cant make a real human it can come close , so close maybe that its would be very difficult to distinguish between the two by normal humans , but still not actual conscious conscious.@@thelordofcringe
Too bad it's not really scientifically accurate, even if you could boost someone's reaction speed that fast, the body couldn't handle it. And you certainly couldn't jump over someone faster. 😂
Despite how Sandevistan is presented, it's more magic than tech. Just because you boost your body into thinking and reacting at super speed doesn't mean you will exist in hyper time. It's more likely you will experience the world as if you were in jello, with your movements being way slower and frustratingly destructive compared to how your brain functions. In fact if you're not careful, you may sever some connections in your arm by moving it too suddenly. So... It's just "time magic" dressed up in cyberpunk clothing
That is Kareznikov. Kareznikov in lore (and in game) when active and gives you faster perception, but you still move like gello. Sandevistan does not boost neural activity. It completely rewires the entire neural system, so that your signals from brain to tissue flow through super-conductors instead of biological nerves. Combine that with muscle and bone replacements, and your body can now withstand “hyper time” you mentioned. Almost instant delivery of signals + almost instant contraction of muscles, on a frame that can support it. THAT is also the reason why Sandevistan users go practically insane, and can only use it for very very brief moments per day (like, 0.001% of 24hr). Sandevistan needs massive replacements of your entire neural system, complete overhaul of your lower brain stem and removal of nerves in the spine. On top of also replacing 80% of the rest of the body (almost all muscle groups and some skeleton) to support such explosive forces for a short time. Whilst Kareznikov only really needs replacements of some brain tissue, being essentially Sandevistan-lite knock-off. Kareznikov is being used throughout enemies in-game by every 3rd random guy, because it is less invasive and more manageable than Sandevistan. If person can handle battle enhancements, they are likely able to handle Kareznikov. But change from Kareznikov (only brain modifications) to Sandevistan is as big of a leap as between being a Paralympic athlete and being within top 100 of able-bodied champions in the world in performance. David got the necessary muscular replacements later on in the story, which would in fact allow him to go “hyper time” realistically/by sci-if logic. David getting only the spine replacement as a teen was….. just a narrative concession to make him feel more human. But, lore-wise, David needed replacements of muscles and skeleton ON TOP of complete overhaul of the entire neural system. Lore-accurate David would look full Gemini-like borg as soon as Sandevistan got installed, realistically. But art is about conveying emotion, and a little bit suspension of disbelief for a better emotional impact (visual change between him early on and later in his career) was needed. People forget that humans NEED to be able to relate to characters on very tender human-centric basis. If David were to be depicted accurately and he went half-Borg right away (and only THEN got some cannons or whatever)….. the series would not be as well-received and would fall flat. Making him appear flair, human and vulnerable is more important for the delivery of art, than hard-core realism
