Hello, good morning, excuse the question, what type of sandpaper are you using to reduce the cork and which one do you use to make a fine finish, I would appreciate your answer, thank you.
Hello joramza Please forgive that it's taken a year to respond - I've been on a hiatus from anything fishing-related and my vids. When I made this rod it was one of the first handles I'd formed on this drill powered lathe, and I was using cheap bargain bucket 100 grit sandpaper. I now use fabric-backed sheets that I cut down into 1" strips - it lasts longer and seems to work better. I start with 80 then go to 120; no finer than that. If it still needs a bit of a "polish" then a strip of old t-shirt will buff it up. Thank you for your comment and question. Be well, be safe, and be groovy.
Thank you friend for the answer and I apologize for the delay. I thank you very much, I will put it into practice and I will send you a message to see how it turned out. Thank you very much friend for taking the time to reply. Thank you.
