Stayed at this hotel in July 2017. We were upgraded to a Junior suite, thank you, fantastic, always best to book late, that's how we got an upgrade. Hotel was full and we were lucky. Great hotel, good food, excellent staff. Well recommended
Good review, showed me everything id like to see. How far is the walk to shops/restaurants/evening type stuff? Could the walk be done on an evening with kids?
Just down the road from the hotel you can find a spar shop and a small number of shops of and bars/restaurants. You can walk all the way into playa Blanca along the beautiful coastal paths, it’s a lovely walk which we did regularly with our 9 year old son. You have the Marina, then Playa Dorado beach which has more shops/bars/restaurants. If you carry on along the path you come to the main strip with Town beach and lots of shops and lovely restaurants. We liked the area by Playa Flamingo beach which is a long walk from Sandos (especially kids) but we would walk one way and get a taxi back which wasn’t expensive. This hotel was a bit far out for my family as we prefer the far end of the resort which is busier but it’s a great place still and the sunset views are stunning😊A plus point is it’s the closest hotel to the Papagayo beaches behind the hotel…well worth a visit the beaches are stunning.
The drinks are terrible..one type of wine, which is labelled as Rioja, and the quality is poor. The Royal elite branded drinks tasted like something made from a kit, and the beer also tasted cheap. Would never return, they need to do better.
@funnystuff4y0u Couldn't wait to get home if I'm honest. It was a BA holiday, and so far from early febuary this year, they haven't even offered an acknowledgement of the complaint.
