NPC Advantages: arboliva (seed sower) cannot be on the team because it gives a 1.3x boost to grass knot. 1 intimidator (tauros, staraptor, arcanine) is needed because curse is too slow to set up and sandslash needs swords dance in order to finish on time. paralyzer (dudunsparce, umbreon, bellibolt) or speed debuffer (corviknight, haxorus, garganacl) is needed to ensure that sandlash outspeeds at the end to recover from a critical hit. gardevoir (life dew, synchronize for burns), drifblim (will-o-wisp), and sylveon (charm, moonblast) are helpful.
Strategy: wait for your stats to reset. 3x amnesia. rest + heal cheer when HP gets low. 3x swords dance, 3x earthquake, terastalize, earthquake to victory.
Pros: supereffective tera type matching base type, good HP and defense stats, decent attack and special defense stats. sandslashes light weight gives grass knot a base power of 60, which makes up for the type weakness (it does the same amount of damage as aura sphere). swords dance buffs 2 attack stages. amnesia buffs 2 special defense stages. earthquake has 100 base power, 100 accuracy, and deals supereffective STAB (tera-boosted when terastalized) damage. shell bell heals when attacking, an amount equal to 1/8 of damage dealt.
