West coast modifieds don't really exist now, but in the 80s and 90s there was nothing faster....quicker than Indy cars at Phoenix......still miss them !!!
They used to race on dirt at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse NY. They would race against sprint cars on the mile dirt track in the late 80s and early 90s. You can find it on the RU-vid. they didn't do as well as you would think.
The Supermodified winner got $6000 I believe. Car count could be from inflation though. But I do find it sad that Sandusky's car count us generally lower than other tracks in the area. Sandusky Speedway is my favorite of the ones I've been to locally. Thanks for watching the video though!
One big issue is the tire situation- ISMA just cancelled their show at Claremont due to supplier issues. That likely affected things/ along with travel costs currently. The sad reality is this division is just about dead. Too little real leadership (particularly with ISMA) and too few efforts Into cost reduction have done them in. 350 supers are likely the wave of the future.
