First time since 2015, they open up Sandy River in Oregon for Deep netting Smelt Fish. Usually, we deep net Smelt fish in Castle Rock Washington, but this year it was closed.
Tomato Purée Recipe:
Tomato
Onion
Celery
Garlic
Oil
Butter
Oregano
Cayenne Pepper
Red pepper flakes
Kosher Salt and Pepper for taste
Fried fish Recipe:
Flour
Egg
Breadcrumbs
Paprika
Garlic salt
Pepper

Thats a tasty fish don't need to clean it the whole fish cooking method for smelt is best in my opinion

Daytime smelting and only Ten pounds.... Definitely over regulated and a terrible time of day to net smelt. God provides the smelts not man and they are an evasive species in most places. (10 pounds is ridiculous 😡)

Yes, I agree. I remember early 90s no limits was set, You can come anytime day or night catch as many small as you want but not anymore. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support.🙏👍

Smelt here has always had a limit, use to be 25lbs. Even in the early 70's when I was a kid! It's to keep from over harvesting and reassure good returns! They are not invasive by the way!

Depends what state I know for sure late 80s when I first start deep smelting no limit was set in Washington state
