I won't ever badmouth the 7010, it has so much going for it. There is more than just facts behind knives here, there is taste and preference, and anyone who prefers the 7010 over the 7076 is not making a bad choice in my opinion.
NICE!! I have 3 7010's. I also got the Enlan version of the 7010 - the F710B (they even had to put 710 in the name of it) with the musical notes on it. Bad idea. I need to take it apart and check it because it grinds and binds when opening, and a number of others that have the knife say the same thing. www.gearbest.com/pocket-knives-and-folding-knives/pp_259430.html?wid=21
I have the F710B as well. I think I heard about it from you. It needed a lube job badly when I got it but is fine now. Blade centering is not perfect like the SRM.
I just got my F710B this summer, and I only mentioned it in one of my very recent unboxing videos, or it might even be in one of the next 3 videos that I have recorded and scheduled for the next 3 Sundays. so if you had it before that then you would have heard about it from someone else, that's my guess anyway
+Canadian Cutting Edge it's on the list. Next SRM for shure. For now a couple more full size models. I just can't stop. Lol. Now that I have open the pro account I can received some credits for any purchase from friend . That is going to help get some new toy. Atb Louis
Nice knife. I prefer more of a drop point blade though, and why won't they do models with deep carry clips? It can't cost any more to manufacture. I prefer larger knives in hand but am finding them not as comfortable to carry. Going to look back at your older videos for some more ideas.
I totally hear you about the deep carry clips. Just today I started my carry testing of their 7045, it has a deep carry clip. I really like large knives more too, but I also carry one of these small ones, just in case.
wooohoo another sanrenmu! how would you compare the size against 7010? seems like its a bit smaller. flips easier than the 7056 looks like. so far the only thing i dont like is the 2 vertical screws on the clip. makes it stick out too much like you mentioned.
They are very much the same size. i will take a picture of both side by side and put it up in my Facebook page. facebook.com/TheCanadianCuttingEdge Otherwise I might also put it up on my Instagram. (I don't use Instagram much yet) instagram.com/canadiancuttingedge/
YES, this knife in the 9xxx series would be very nice indeed. I wish Sanrenmu would make bigger versions a whole LOT more knives from their 6xxx and 7xxx series. I hope your's flips as smoothly and easily as mine - while still having a good detent.
Canadian Cutting Edge today it arrived...Nice! It was a bit smaller than I expected, but it feels good in the hand. And wow, those hollow grind Sanrenmu's are oh so sharp out of the box! And the action is great, just had to put a bit of oil on the detend ball path, there was a little bit too much friction. Did you see, the pocket clip is the same as the one from the 6040 :)
I really like this one. I wish they would make a 85/90mm blade version of it. As for the steel, I wasn't able to find a definite answer. Gearbest doesn't state the steel, Fasttech states 8CR13MOV and Exduct states Sandvik 12C27 :$ At this price, 8CR13MOV is a good bet and is adequate.
You are right, this would look great in a large folder size, and work great too, I am sure. Yeah, I saw conflicting steels too, that is why I emailed Sanrenmu but they still haven't gotten back to me. sometimes they do, but lately they have not been replying.
It just depends on what tasks you will do with the knife. If a small knife is fine for you, then this is great. I just prefer knives that are a bit larger and therefore are more flexible with what I can do with them, that's all.
Yes, it does sit lower when the pocket clip is in the tip down position. THAT happens very often. Most knives that have both tip up and tip down are made so that tip down actually sits lower in the pants pocket. I don't know why, but I see it all of the time. In my newest videos I show how knives sit both ways so that people can see exactly how it looks.
Heh, it should only weigh 59 if i remember correctly? Im waiting for mine ;) now thinking that maybe i should order one more. I think weights are most accurate when you put the center of mass of the object you want to weigh, right about the centrepoint of the weight surface :) it may have just slipped for you or you may not be that used to working with weights. Any way i dont mean to troll you or anything, just a friendly advice because i noticed you did it differently than i think is optimal :) im not even sure, i might as well be wrong and just have a niche case of ocd haha.
i just looked up "how to use a scale correctly" :) to get it over with They mentioned that one ought to avoid putting the object too close to the edge of the weight for accuracy. Or at least distribute the weight evenly over the plate/surface of the weight. You probably know very well and im just being a total freak overexplaining this right now hehe As you mightve guessed by now im really nitpicky about the weight of my edc gear :) i just got a 7010 that weighs 2,08 grams less than described :D But the 7046 i also got weighed that instead of 84grams weigh in at 86,94. So i guess the accuracy of the weight is so-so with all of them and our weighing result was probably pretty deadon despite the uneven balancing of the scale :)
I double checked, the weight is correct. I had the scale checked for accuracy because my daughter is a professional baker and baking needs precise measurements. Maybe is "should" have a different weight, but this it is the weight it is.
Well that would be nice, but very unlikely as they don't have booths at Shot Show, at least I don't think they do. Anyway, I would much rather have a sponsor send me to Blade Show in Atlanta, now that is a nice show to see knives. Thanks for the compliment.
Sal has openly said that Spyderco uses the Sanrenmu factory for at least some of their Made in China knives. I don't have the link handy but he made that statement in a public knife forum a couple of years ago.
