Doing the pacifist run as you are is perfectly fine to get the best ending. While most do the neutral run first, if you begin and finish with pacifist, you’re able to access the true ending which is the best one

Feel free to do whatever voices you want but if you’re unsure what to do for Papyrus make it as over-the-top and enthusiastic as possible like he’s constantly yelling theatrically.

(Minor spoilers, but it doesn’t spoil any events of the game!) Definitely keep going down the route you are going! If you do, you will get the true pacifist ending. While yes, technically you are forced to do a neutral ending first, but you’ll understand more clearly once you get near the end of the game! I think people just worded it in a confusing way, and you won’t have to replay the entire game just to get the true ending lmao. But after the true pacifist, if you want to keep exploring the different endings I would totally love to watch that as well! (Also hoping you play Deltarune at some point, a game similar to Undertale also made by Toby Fox that is still ongoing, and just as incredible!!)

To put it as un-spoilery as possible, you don't have to play multiple times to get pacifist. But you have to beat the game, go back to your last save, do some other shit (takes maybe an hour or so? i think?), and then get to the end once again. Also, please be careful reading comments. You might want to have someone else go through your comments section to delete spoilers and back-seating. Anyway, some fun non-spoiler undertale facts about various things you encountered in this part of the playthrough (and a few things from the last part): -The heart eyes on Toriel's sprite are actually a very dark red, rather than just black. She's one of the few battle sprites that has color. -It is possible to die to Toriel, but very difficult. When you get to a low enough HP, she stops trying to hit you. But if you manage to get hit and die, there's a short frame of Toriel putting her hands over her mouth and looking shocked since she just killed you on accident. Really fucked up if you think about it. - Papyrus was originally going to be a parody of the stereotypical neck-beard internet brony. He was going to wear a fedora, be a fan of a show called 'my little boney', and have (in toby's words) "no obvious redeeming qualities". ( - Sans's talking sound (the 'ererererer' thing that plays when his textboxes appear) is actually from a clip of Patrick from Spongebob. I think it's the episode where Spongebob has bad breath and thinks he's actually just ugly? But it's a clip where Patrick says "Maybe it's the way you're dressed." - Papyrus's outfit is partially based on Starman from earthbound. Specifically the symbols on the chest. Toby fox made a romhack of earthbound a long time ago, and earthbound is a pretty significant inspiration for undertale, so i think it's a cute nod to that - Papyrus is the younger brother, Sans is the older brother. In an old (now deleted) tweet, toby fox said that papyrus would refer to Sans as 'aniki' (兄貴) in the Japanese translation of the game. Which is a term you use for an older brother. Not sure if that made it into the final game though. I always liked the "younger brother is taller than older brother" trope :) - The monster kidz word search actually is not possible. "giasfclfebrehber" is spelled "giasfclfEbrehber" on the list, but "giasfclfUbrehber" on the actual search. - If you lose to papyrus enough times (i think 3 times?), he gives you the option to stop battling him. He just assumes you keep purposely getting captured by him because you like him.

It seems like you’re still a bit confused on how your human character ended up in the underground, as well as the backstory and stuff. There’s an intro cutscene that’s supposed to play before the game title screen, so definitely recommend seeing that real quick

The save points say that stuff about determination bc in game logic, your character is filled with so much inspiration from the simple yet beautiful things around them that they get determined to keep going. Thats the “save”. If theyre not determined they would just give up or something

babe wake up, scoot uploaded a new undertale video (also you *can* do a pacifist run all the way through, you gotta open the game after you get the ending to get the true pacifist ending, if that makes sense) EDIT: ngl doing the whole ordeal of petting lesser dog would've taken 10-20 minutes in real time, so I'm not entirely mad that you didn't do it (if anything, I understand, lmao) EDIT 2: 25:36 you don't need to move for this attack, it's just a dog sleeping until you start to move, lol EDIT 3: 28:50 there's a secret fight here, you gotta keep moving for 2 minutes straight to get it, though (you can do this easily by holding the up and down arrows simultaneously) (this fight is entirely optional, btw)

for anyone interested in the binary clip at the beginning, it translates to "lorem ipsum" which I don't really get but it's like placeholder text and I think it was originally a typo of “dolorem ipsum” which means “pain itself" in latin but then people started using it has a placeholder to display fonts or whatever because the phrase itself is like typo nonsense

29:01 in that room if you keep walking for like 3 minutes iirc, you can fight a secret mini boss but i think since you already fighted papyrus you can't fight that secret mini boss anymore

(Minor game mechanic spoilers, without going into the WHY details [and no story spoilers] just to help you understand the routes and which one you're on.) You ARE currently doing a pacifist route. It just gets confusing because the pacifist route, technically, has a neutral ending as well. You have to experience the neutral ending before you can get the pacifist ending. But it's not a True Neutral ending, due to the fact that you won't have to restart the game all the way to the beginning. (And that's thanks to you not killing anything yet 👍🏻) Once you see the neutral ending, you will go back a small ways and complete the pacifist route. Trust me, it flows well. It won't feel like you're replaying anything.

YES! More Undertale! And this time you get to meet Sans and Papyrus.

How the Pacifist Run works is that you complete the game without killing anyone (key word being killing, as some enemies can still be attacked without them immediately dying, and if you get them to low enough health they’ll let you spare them). All runs (except the “hunt everyone til the world’s full of dust” route) have the same progression and lead to the same final boss. However, what’s unique about the Pacifist Run is that if you reload your save file to before that final boss AFTER BEATING IT (as in you beat the boss, get the credits, and read the epilogue dialogue), then bonus game content will be available to you to reach the True Ending. Don’t worry if you forget any of this though. The game will literally tell you, and you don’t have to play it twice. You only have to play the game twice if you aren’t already a pacifist, because killing anyone will lock you out of the True Ending. If you’re confused about the whole “reload your save” bit don’t worry, the game’s kinda funky like that. It’ll be fine. Speaking of, here’s a little hint for you: when you reach the golden hallway before the final battle and a character speaks to you about your adventure, reload your save and listen to the speech again. Trust me, it’s worth it to do it twice 😉

Don’t worry. You can’t buy the fried snow, even if you get the right amount of currency. Doesn’t affect the main story! 👍🏻

(Non spoiler suggestions) Don’t forget to go back and have the date with Papyrus for more fun interactions with him plus that’s the only way you get to explore his house- Also I would recommend interacting more with any and all objects in your surroundings they usually either provide funny little jokes or are actually relevant to the lore or characters of the game- This game is very unique with a lot of fun little details and even random chance Easter eggs so playing this game multiple times can reveal new things often that even fans who know the game pretty well sometimes don’t know about for example there is a chance that you can receive random calls on your cellphone which there are multiple different ones so the more you play the game and interact with things the more you learn (Gameplay advice) The inn is actually very useful- yes you need a lot of money for it but you actually get your money back and it gives you extra health which is a big advantage you might wanna utilize for hard battles in the future You also may wanna be careful with what items you’re using- of course you didn’t know but during your toriel fight you used the pie which is actually a really good healing item that people like to save for harder fights later on in the game because if you checked the pie it would’ve told you that the pie actually heals ALL of your hp but don’t feel too bad because in pacifist run you stay with just 20 hp and there are items that heal more than 20 hp in the game that would basically function the same way on pacifist so usually the pie is more useful for genocide runs where you get more hp by killing and gaining LV

You can actually continue doing Pacifist because once you beat the neutral ending you can just press continue in the menu and re-load your last save file(the one before the last battle)Once you get there leave and start walking back to the Hotel from there complete the rest of the dialogue (I’m not specific because I don’t want to spoil )Then go back to the last battle and take it from there + love the voice acting !!!!

Maybe this is too spoilery for you so read at your own risk (either way it's a very minor spoiler and shouldn't ruin your experience with the game): You will get the neutral ending no matter what, and the pacifist one is unlocked after that. I believe you can then load a save from before the final boss fight and do the pacifist ending.

The pacifist run is actually harder in my opinion because you need to actually think and don't kill anyone. Sometimes it's easier to just kill a monster than to find a stratagy against it. That said I prefer the pacifist run, cause it's fun and peacefull

I don’t know who told you that you need to do it twice. That’s not true. There’s a part at the end that requires some backtracking that I imagine that’s what they’re referring to. But it certainly isn’t an entire extra playthrough.
