Just as bravery and idiocy are often confused, so are intelligence and cowardice. Surviving does not make you smart. Sansa survived because of the Stark name and that's it. Everyone wanted the North on their side and Sansa, an alive Sansa, was the best way to get it since no other Stark cared about their life enough to fall in line. Arya is a Stark and she also survived under the servitude of a Lannister, you might even say the most dangerous of Lannisters. The difference being is that Arya was proactive. Arya did things to change her situation, even risking her life to sabotage the enemy. Sure she had help, but so did Sansa who was in a better position to do something and yet did nothing. Sansa is passive, barely doing anything. She even chooses to stay in King's Landing when the Hound offers to escort her. This decision goes no where and, in the long term, actually makes things worse for her.

Sansa coulda tried to escape King's Landing like Arya. Instead she confessed to Cersei that Ned was shipping her and her sister away, all because she wanted to see Joffrey before she left because she was so in love. Cersei then locked her in her room so she couldn't escape. Calling her a slower learner is putting it nicely.

I think the most emotional moment in this show for me (and mind you, I tend to not even like Sansa) was when she sees Jon for the first time and she just runs and holds him with all her might because he is the one person she has seen a long while she knows she can trust. It was a beautiful and emotional moment.

I mean how protective of her family is she really? She didn't try to save Rickon would've possibly had Arya killed kinda usurped Bran and Jon and then the best she could do is throw Jon back Beyond the remnants of the Wall. While if you flip the script Jon murdered Daenerys and forever tainted himself in their world history for Sansa got banished and really should've been killed for it.

Really? How does breaking her oath and promise to Jon about keeping his parentage secret fit into this "family and blood"?

@Sarah Tolmie Put down the events and how she handled the situation with Daenerys in the show. And you'll see that her decision are horrendous and actually placed Jon's life in danger as well. At the hands of Daenerys. The only reason everything just worked out, is because D&D made every character as they pleased disregarding consistency and there pervious Agency. Don't get me wrong. Sansa is rather interesting in the books, But in the show she is completely ruined. D&D wanted to make Arya a super assassin AND a crazy ass warrior as well, that has superpowers. And Sansa a Tony stark. But neither of them earned the status. Arya training that we've seen doesn't justify and of the shit that she can do. And Sansa as well being smart because the writers keep telling us that she is. Instead of actualy showing us, in a legit, meaningful way, instead of making other characters dumb asses for that to happen.

@Sarah Tolmie Now here is the thing. Sansa seems to love Jon at least through the statements that she makes. But all the things the writers made her do, just to push that tony stark model of theres. Made her look the exact opposite. For example. Back at season 6 where Sansa didn't mentioned about the Nights of the vail to Jon. That was just a really stupid move by them. Cause they absolutely wanted Sansa to contribute on this war for some weird reason, even though she ain't a warrior or an experienced General for the matter. So they decided to take this idiotic nonsensical root, in order to make Sansa not only contribute, but seemingly also save the day. Now that was completely unnecessary and out of nowhere. And also made Sansa look like she is willing to place Jon's life at risk, for literally reasons unknown. No person in this fuckin world, that claims to love another person would do such a thing. And also the way they made her use Rickon in order to convince Jon to fight and take back Winterfell. Only later, when they actually confirm that Ramsey does indeed have there brother, proceeds telling Jon that there brother is as good as dead and that he should Just focus on the war and forget about him?. We can see that the writers wanted as to see that , hey look. Sansa knows things. But the things that made her do to achieve that goal, where just completely nonsensical and not only made her look like a fool. But also like a complete cold hearted calculative person. And at season 8. She again express concern for Jon going south. And what do the writers made her do?. Spill that one secret, that can put Jon's life at risk. Cause what could this move of hers do, other than that?. How was this supposed to help protect Jon from Daenerys?. If she knew that Daenerys could potentially harm Jon. Then spreading that secret of his, would 100% guarantee, that he is gonna get in trouble. And im pretty sure everyone is actually surprised, how Jon and Tyrion as well, made it out scott free at 8x06. Daenerys was literally mad at this point. And after that evil eye that she gave to Jon. Jon should have been at the very least a prisoner of hers. Hell. Daenerys could have even used Jon as a leverage, and tell Sansa to come down to kings landing and swear fealty to her, or Jon dies. Cause the way the writers made her spread the secret, by bluntly telling it to Tyrion, all the while making known to everyone that she doesn't like Daenerys, was just a recipe for disaster. UNLESS. Daenerys kind of forgot that she is crazy for a minute, and allow Jon to come close for the kill .😒. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely think that Sansa loves Jon. But damm. All the things that the writers made her do, just to push her GENIUS model forward. Made it look like she was all words and no action, when it came down proving how she cares for him and her family in general. The books by the way make it all to clear how Sansa will come to understand and love Jon. In a more meaningful and coherent manner, than this nonsense, of just telling as how she loves him and telling as how smart she is. But then make her do things that actually prove the exact opposite.😩. This show was truly a mess.

She -Almost lost the battle of the bastards because she didnt let jon know about the knights of the vale -caused rickons death for the same reason -fought with jon throughout season 6 even though she agreed that she knew nothing about battle -did literally nothing in season 8 except tell edmure tully to shut up and sit which I believe no one appretiates Also Danaerys and arya are also terrible characters so it doesnt really matter what they did

Thirst for power and title? That's Dany. Sansa literally does nothing but be a logical, competent Lady of the North. The last time she has ever wanted something close to a title was season 2/3, and ever since then it has just been survival and keeping the north safe. Dany threatens to withdraw her help if she doesn't get her throne (Her helping isn't a favour to them, it's a life or death situation for mankind not just the North) and kills or holds hostage anyone who doesn't agree with her. Dany's entire arc is a thirst for power, but because she's a 'cool bad ass dragon lady' she gets a free pass, I guess.

Why should sansa be friendly to the person who asked for their independence in exchange for aid? Dany kept Jon a hostage in dragonstone for too long and asking for northern submission to her put the Starks in danger. Remember majority of the northern lords did not support them in the battle of the bastards? Jon bending the knee could have lost them all support in the north. The lords were already angry with what happened with Robb who married a foreigner which was one of the main reasons that led to the north losing the war. Dany is also considered another foreigner. Her family were conquerors of the 7 kingdoms and did not have the best history at ruling. Worse, she's the mad king's daughter who the half of westeros rebelled against. Their claim on the iron throne ended when the rebellion won. Also, Sansa was right to raise her concerns about northern independence. The north never benefited from being ruled by the south. And if you say it was dany's right to claim the north for helping, don't forget the wall got destroyed and the dead marched south because of her dead dragon from that stupid wight hunt. The war with the dead was everyone's not just the north. She would still have to deal with it eventually. The north also helped her by feeding her army and fought on her war against cersei. The fact Dany got offended and issued threats everytime she felt no one respected her just exposed her for the power-hungry tyrant she really was.

Danny wasn't trying to be friendly off the bat, she was trying to manipulate the situation for her gain. She knew the north won't bow because Jon told her so, she plays her game with the dragons and all it did was scare the small folk and Sansa saw it all. Sansa and the north have every right to distrust her, just like all of Westeros; Sansa and the north have recent history on their side: Death of Rickard Stark, Branden Stark, Lyanna Stark the houses that follow Rickard to KL and their family, and Sansa is to bow to her with that history and she has WMD. Sansa to her face asked her what her plans were if they won, and asked a proper question ; What about us the north, our customs, way of life etc. Danny's response was to remove her hand, straighten her back and give snake eyes. Sansa gave good advice to her and Jon on rest and healing, Danny called her a welsher, Jon admonished Sansa, Rhaegal died, Missandei died, they lost their ships, just think if they did listen to her Varys may have gotten more info, etc. i wonder if Danny ever blamed herself for Missandei's or Rhaegal's death, I doubt it.

Since Daenerys has shown she cares about what happens to her troops already that was slightly out of character for Daenerys-I suspect season 8 is littered with moments the script writers try to break from Daenerys's character in little bits in order to make it more likely people will accept the major break from Daenerys's character they shove in on episode 5 at King's Landing. I call bs on that nonsense but that is a different discussion. That all said there is some reason for Daenerys to want to march South quickly. Cold wasn't good for her dragons and one of them was wounded-remember they weren't eating like they should. Also Daenerys and Jon discussed that Cersei could attack any of Dany's lands and allies if Daenerys moved her army North to fight the Night King (this was while the 2 of them were waiting to see if Cersei returned at the truce talks). Since Daenerys's allies had already been attacked a couple of times she does have good reason to fear for her own lands and her allies.

@@pplr1 Danny has no lands at this juncture she hasn't won the rights of claim, all of Westeros are fighting her in one form or another, except the Iron born, unsullies, dothdrakies and the north as part of their bargain; but the north refuses to support her for queen., which means she have to turn on them next. the dragons made not been eating as normal, but the rest would still had more benefits then not for them , the troops and maybe Missandei.

The same can be say about the Starks' claim over Winterfell, the Lannister won the war and made the Boltons the new Warden of the North. In the books I'm sure the North will need food from the South to feed itself and fight against the WW threat because their army suffered heavy In the war, Winterfell treasure is not shining with gold and food is lacking. They need the South if they want survive. North independence is just a dumb idea (I am talking about the books the show is just fanfiction, a bad one ). The wight hut was not her idea and she it made clear she didn't approved it. Tbh if i was Dany i would've said fuck you and go to Neck and wait it came with all armies of the South on my back.
