@@GoldenRose116 Sansa ain't developed at all, she is still a lier and a game player who keeps secrets from her family. Jon is the song of Ice and fire, sansa just a side note who wasn't even in Martin's plans at the start of this series lol.

@@nexis1293 Maybe because her family is full of idiots and psycos, who also keep things from her? Martin has said multiple times that Sansa is an important characters, one of the main 6. He also said plenty of times that a song of ice and fire isn't just about Jon and Dany and that they only make up 10 procent of the story at most.

absolutely! i think a lot of people are caught up too much in the "fantasy" portion. sansa's character actually to me is the most realistic out of all GOT characters.

agree with you and also her hair style on s1 and 2 and 3 and part of s4 was the kings landing style , this is a fact when she watch Cersie ladies in waiting doing their braids on the 3rd episode of S1, she wanted to fit her new role as Jofrey fiancee and future queen, then when she left to the Eyrie she do her hair like her aunt liza not because she admired her but because she was in another land. Even Arya when she was in Braavos do her hair in a different way because every land on the Got universe had their own culture and also customs and fashion.

@@cvox607 Arya escaped on her own will and wanted to be schooled by faceless men. Jon chose the night's watch. While Sansa wanted to be wed to joffrey she was asked to pack her bags by her father. Later the same day she was seized by the queen and hence failed to escape. After that she had to go along with everything for the sake of survival. Don't get me wrong. She's not my even in my top 5 favorite characters. Whereas Jon and Arya are. But the fact that she was helpless at the beginning is mere fact. It can be attribututed to her incompetence. Nevertheless, it doesn't take away from the fact that her suffering was never her choice nor was it deserved unlike for other characters.

@@TheBlexi3 funny enough Sansa is the one with the most realistic story of all of them. She was used has a political pawn, the most realistic way a lady of the Cort would be used in a case of war. The thing that destroyed Sansa in the series is the mareage with Ramzy, it clearly notice that this is not written by Martin, she should have spent more time in the Ayre learning the game and setting her own political pieces pushing her cousin the lord of the Veil to her side (out of the grasp of little finger). Maybe after she set up her own political network, she could have been kidnapped by the Boltens and force to marry. Using her own political means she then could have set up her escape with the outside help and the story could have been progressed has it is.

@@RikaRieGaming i hated her, then came the littlefinger lisa aryn arc i enjoyed, then came ramsay, which i thought broke her arc, season 6 and 7 just pissed me off. Her arc seemed so unreal und forced, but thats because of the ramsay part. If she wins the game of thrones, her arc would be the dumbest thing ever. Growing up in a world, where you believe you will become what anyone else can only dream of and then actually getting it seems really cheap.

@@detlefdiesoos1730 Sorry i don't feel the same, When i first this series I was hoping she will be more than some perfect girly-girl being overshadowed by her tomboish sister (Because she was awesome and i love badasses.) . So i was enjoying her character and the trails she has to go thoughout the series, she didn't need to be a fighting badass like her sister; she became one in another type fight. I understand ppl not liking her but I can't seem to dislike her.

​@whatisahandle_69 Cercei & Joffrey are the cause for Lady's Death, not Sansa. Cercei, Jaime, & Littlefinger are the cause of Ned's death, not Sansa. Sansa did what she was taught (to do as the queen/king commanded) & was a niave little girl. Also, Ned told Cercei he knew their secret the same one that supposedly got Jon Arryn killed... not smart on his part. Stop blaming a child for acting like a child, blame the adults who are truly to blame.

Ximena Gonzalez I think people were meant to not like her in the beginning. But I actually did start liking her character after Ned died. I started liking the way she tried to survive though - through constraint and she learned by observing. For someone who was a brat, i’m amazed at how she isn’t impulsive. While she didn’t have any skill to be on the offensive, her defense was quite effective.

That is because they are drinking dumb people juice. Sansa is badass, with one of the most thoroughly developed arcs on the show.

In the begining Sansa was my least favorite Stark, but now she is is probably my favorite in the series along with Arya.

Her parents taught her nothing. She had no skills that made her useful. Jon says it well when he says that He wouldn't even swear in front of her. Cersei was more helpful in that sense

I despised Sansa because she got Aria's friend, her own wolf, and her father killed out of bratty self service. Nothing to do with her femininity. She was good at the game of thrones because she was always a selfish liar.

It seems like you want people to dislike her because she's a woman I would argue that her femininity is not the reason people disliked her I agree that she's a real good character

True, but by the end she pretty much won. She's a Queen in her own right of a likewise independent kingdom. She beat the Game of Thrones.

they have the same experiences, but different beliefs. dany started with nothing, sansa started with everything. as the show progressed, dany gained power, but sansa lost all hers. Now Sansa's gaining back the power she's lost and some. If dany's path was linear, Sansa's came full circle. that difference can mean the world. Dany's outlook on life is that of an idealistic conqueror, but Sansa was forced to become a realist and won't back down from things she thinks aren't right (especially for her family and for the north).

Sansa has the potential to become like Cersei, but since there's only one season left, there's not enough time for that character development and Sansa admits to being a slow learner. If there was more season then I would agree with you. Even Dany won't survive, she was so power hungry in season 7 and I think it may bite her in the ass. John seems like the one that would survive, he's cares about the society as a whole and looking towards the future. There's only six episodes and I think shit is about to hit the fan.

@@summerstones3884 lol Sansa is nothing like Cersei. She's learned what she could and recognizes that Cersei isn't a good ruler, just a spiteful person with power. In the books, when Cersei told Sansa that once she was Queen she should rule by fear, Sansa immediately rebuked her, thinking that she was always taught that "Love is a surer route to people's loyalty than fear." and that she would make sure her people love her. Even from the first season/book, Sansa knew what to take from Cersei's advices, and what to disregard. Can you tell me how Sansa is likely to become a Cersei? Sansa who is loved by her people--Sansa who is an effective lady of winterfell (something Cersei never was)? Just because Sansa prefers politics over fighting doesn't make her the next Cersei. Attitude-wise, Sansa is also not like Cersei. All Cersei ever wanted was to become like her brother--someone with power and someone not held back by his gender. Sansa never paid any mind to that. She loved being a lady, and all she ever wanted was to continue being a good one. Even her dream to be queen is just that. She saw the position of Queen as the peak of being a lady, and she wanted that. It was never power she sought, it was always the dream of becoming the best possible daughter and wife--just that. She was satisfied with the life she was given--Cersei was not. Cersei's motivation is to take everything she thought she deserved, while Sansa's has always been getting back what she once lost. Sansa is not and will never be the next Cersei. Saying such would be the ultimate bastardization of her character.

@@MayumiSaegusaShiba heck even season 7 showed Sansa and Cersei are noting alike with quoates Sansa season 4: "I lie awake all night staring at the canopy, thinking of how they died" Cersei season 7: "I lie in bed and I stare at the canopy and imagine ways of killing my enemies." That alone shows how diffrent they are

Perhaps Sansa admires Cersei's talent to reach goals.

I completely agree. It wasnt admiration. Jon absolutely does not get Sansa. He says she thinks she knows everything. No she doesnt. But she KNOWS what she knows. His problem is he doesnt value her opinion and doesnt seek her counsel.

Jon sees black and white, complementing your enemies or even pointing out their skill is too much for him.

It didn't show in the series but the wolves in the books were much more interesting as well. Lady's death made me cry because she was my favourite character in the book.

Sadly, this is true of film/TV/play adaptations in general: it's hard to portray a lot of the complicated inner thoughts of characters without the benefit of the unique insights that text can offer, without ruining it through unnatural exposition in dialogue (which tends to work better for modern audiences when it's more naturalistic). Oh, other media have tried revealing the hidden depths and inner thoughts of characters, using voice-over monologues or fourth-wall-breaking asides and soliloquies addressed to the audience, but this rarely works well, especially for modern drama. So much has to rest on things like expressions, tones of voice, and so on which tend to be a much weaker form of communication than just getting the character's hidden thoughts directly from the page. Thus, it's really rare for a film or TV adaptation to make a text-based major character that captures a character as well as the original story, characters in the adaptation will almost always pale in comparison to the text... the major exceptions seem to be adaptations of stories that were weak on characterization to begin with and especially where portrayals by exceptionally talented actors, or minor characters who might get expanded roles in adaptation, or TV/film adaptations that expand heavily on the original text content (such as lengthy adaptations of very short stories).... In the case of Sansa and GOT/ASOIAF, I've both seen the TV show and read the books, and I appreciate the ways the different media can emphasize different things about the same character: I think that characters like Sansa, including Cersei, Jaime, Brienne, Bronn, Tormund, Tyrion, and so on, are richer for the contributions of both the show (and its cast) and the books. In some places the show improves on the characters a great deal (several minor characters benefited greatly from the adaptation to TV), in other places the show missed some beats (generally for the sake of economy of characters and plots, such as the way the whole Dorne subplot and its characters got downplayed), but overall I think the books and show complement each other well, and Sansa's character for me was one of those places where the two different versions work together.

I know that 1) people will die and 2) since I'm not the one writing the show, it can never be what I want it to be or what I personally enjoy, so I know S8 will bring disappointment either way. I have one character that I want to survive and there's only two ways that can go 😅

I'm so curious what's happening in episode 1 because they keep talking about the battle of winterfell but that's episode 2 (maybe 3. I've heard both, but I think 2) so I'm curious if episode 1 is just going to be getting the golden company to Cersei, Dany and Jon and their armies to winterfell, and the wights to just outside winterfell or if they've got something special in mind. I really really like the theory that The Night King is riding Viserion directly down to Kings landing so he can kill them all there and raise them to siege winterfell on two fronts. Then by the time the golden company gets there they just see destruction and Euron says fuck it we're out.

I'm just leaving my tv on HBO 2 till the premiere cause they're marathoning every episode.
