HER NAME IS RIO AND SHE DANCES ON THE SAAAAAND To be honest, that's the song I wanted to hear a full rendition of on Christmas. Too many of these running absolutely non-stop during Christmas season....
I love this and watching it every year has become a Christmas tradition for me. Can't believe he couldn't at least think of singing Here Comes Santa Claus haha.
this is so weirdly wholesome, everytime i listen to it i get so happy. there is nothing cynical about it, it's just Jesus and Santa being buds and singing together. not as advesarries but as friends.
Sadly it is because while it was planned they couldn’t secure the rights for the Rio part from Duran Duran on time before the album was supposed to release
In reality, Santa Claus (or St. Nicholas as he was known originally) started out as a Greek Orthodox bishop. Born in 270 AD in what is now Turkey, he promoted Christianity by giving gifts and was also the Patron Saint of Children, having saved three boys from being slaughtered during a famine, and also three girls from working in a brothel (their father was a poor man and St. Nicholas secretly put bags of gold in their house in the middle of the night). The name 'Santa Claus' as we recognise it today came from 'Sinterklaas', the Dutch nickname for St. Nicholas.
