I don't understand why I rarely see this skit on snl comps. Seriously one of the most underrated snl skits of all time imo. Vanessa and Ryan pull off crazy so well together, and Beck as traumatised Santa is just brilliant

"Then how the fuck did Santa get here, David?" Gosling nailed this (as did Beck Bennett). And FINALLY, one of the best episodes of SNL I have seen in a while... great from start to finish.

From the moment Ryan said, "But Santa doesn't drink...he's got to drive the sleigh" I knew we were in for a wild ride! LOL. The conviction with which he delivered that line gave me goodbumps. Haha...

Everything about Vanessa’s “I wanna meet Rudolph” is absolute perfection.

This is not a regular comedy sketch, it's a short film. A brilliant and terrifying short film.

@2:03 is the best chemistry. When they hear they aren't going to meet the real Santa and Ryan looks back at Vanessa and she just shakes her head and says, "Nope, nut-uh.." They meshed so well as it escalated from there. I would watch a movie with them as these characters.

3:25 this is honestly one of the most in depth scenes in an snl skit I’ve ever seen, it still shows their childlike innocence by dancing in front of audience of people on the homeowners table not knowing that it’s wildly inappropriate for the scenario that they are in. Even the music choice is just chilling with the very first words of the song saying “I must follow you” as if their never ending search for a mythical character will be the death of their innocence, to then panning out into people watching them and making the audience feeling sort of uncomfortable fully immersing us into this Christmas Party. Amazing characters building in a short amount of time, this could honestly be amazing Christmas thriller or horror movie if someone ever decides to make this a movie it just needs to be handed off to the right director

The Real santa being terrified at the end is KILLING me

If Vanessa had only this sketch and Totinos on her SNL resume that’d be more than enough to cement her legend.

Thanks to this sketch, everytime my wife and I are in a store and see a Cuisinart product we look at each other and harshly whisper "CUISINART!!" and im sure that is one of the reasons we still enjoy each other after 12 years

Full commitment is what makes any absurd bit funny and Gosling fully commits! So silly.

I can't stop revisiting this. It's a master piece. Some would say, hey relax, it's just a scatch and they would be right - but no! It's more - it makes me wanna see what happened after and before - to see their life before this moment and after - it's simply put - amazing

One of the best TV skits, ever! They’re all great! Ryan is scary AF his best skit, and Keenan’s comedic timing and expressions are hilarious. The dance scene 😂. You can feel all the emotions. It’s actually not Christmas every year until I’ve seen this.

Something that sticks out to me is how every actor is locked into their character so well and the camera cutting to all of them really makes this skit feel like a rollercoaster.

So many neat touches in this skit. I especially love how they see themselves dancing, all romantic and stuff, but all the rest of the room sees is two psychos fumbling around groping each other.

This would make a really good psychological thriller... There is so much potential, from the scary dynamic the couple has, to the disturbing childlike determination gosling's character has. You just have to remove the actual santa at the end, and have the couple find out that santa isn't real leading to a murderous rampage... It writes itself hehe
