I have now re-uploaded this video in 60 FPS and higher quality! Please check it out here: • Santa Fe 3751 Original...
This was a tape that was made by D.W. Vanhook Productions in 1992. From what I was able to find, it unfortunately appears that Mr. Vanhook has passed away. Since this seems to be a very low print run, homemade tape, I thought it was worthy of preserving, especially given the historical significance of the 3751, it's original restoration and first excursion trip in 1991.

That 5 chime gives me so many goosebumps! Really wish they’d kept that whistle on her.

Thankfully, the San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society still has Santa Fe 3751’s Santa Fe 5-chime freight whistle in storage. 3751 received her Santa Fe 6-chime passenger whistle in 1995.

@@zacharycalgher3978 yes, I believe the LM-540 6 chime was actually intended to be standard on all later/retrofitted ATSF steam power. The 3751 class being one exception due to height clearance issues at the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, necessitating the much shorter LM-192 5 chimes for use on those 14 locomotives. Also I understand the 6 chime currently on 3751 actually came off of a 2900 class engine. Curious if this is correct.

I've owned it since I was a kid. I was huge into trains, especially the 3751. So when me and my dad came across it in a small museum, I just had to get it.

@@HistoryToBeRemembered WOW, really? Was this museum in California by chance?

@@colinmulder6806 Yes, if I remember correctly, we were visting the Harvey House in Barstow at the time. We ended up going to some other museum in Barstow that I think had to do with desert history (I don't recall it having much to do with trains at all), and this cassette was there for sale.

@@colinmulder6806 I don't think I have anything else rare or hard to find like this.
