Yeah, I’d understand that if you’re young or not from the UK. JME has had a strange career path in the last decade we’ll say. At the start of it him and Skepta were the two biggest Uk rappers both at a similar level but since then Skepta got mainstream in America making songs with ASAP Rocky and Kid Cudi etc hanging out with Drake, Frank Ocean etc but JME is after kind of falling off and now hangs out with Vikkstar123 😂

they made this as a challenge just for fun, its from their new hour long sidemen sunday video they released on the sidemen channel. they split the sidemen up into two groups, one had a $100,000 budget and the other had a $100 budget, this was the $100,000 budget group, obviously, and they made the whole song with JME in just 12 hours.

Bars at 2:10 are also referring to different energy providers in the UK; currently the UK is in an energy crisis where lots cant afford heating this winter because their providers are putting up prices in response to inflation. There’s a video before this called “$100 Christmas song vs $100,000 Christmas song” that’s the reason behind this music video drop. 2 teams, 2 budgets, but both have to try and make a song with the most views. “Christmas Drilling” is the one with the higher budget and “This or That” is the lower one. If you watch the first video you’ll see the behind the scenes from both teams how they wrote produced and filmed. It’s hilarious.
