Carlos Santana says he speaks to angels. You can tell, by the way he plays the guitar that he's not lying. Wow, that guy is one and a million good stuff. Fellas, God bless, thank you.
Amen to that, I prefer the original lineup and albums but ALL his music is sure worth a listen. I also dig out his incredible collaboration with John McLaughlin on Love, Devotion, Surrender on occassion, great stuff. Love Beck & Zappa, RIP.
Those of us born in England in 1954 or thereabouts rebelled against our parents by spending all our money and time listening to music, getting high and going to concerts. Santana's music was on our permanent playlist - "Taboo" off Santana 3 has Neil Schon (now of Journey fame) and Carlos playing off each other like no guitar piece you have ever heard. Respect gentlemen, keep exploring..
Aloha gentlemen. The best of all the rest. The key board and the second guitar are of Journey. Gregg Rollie. Neil Schon. Really have to listen to their first album Of a Lifetime. Wow. Peace and love
I've seen Santana three times. The first time I saw them was in 1981 ... one of the greatest concerts I've ever witnessed. It was in the Montreal Forum, a hockey arena that held 16,000 people. Concert was sold out. Starting on the second or third song we were all on our feet, dancing our asses off, and none of us stopped dancing until the last encore was done. It was MAGICAL!
No wonder that I used to play this album Every Day..and I started appreciating artists like Rembrandt and Dali and Renoir because of the artwork here by Abdul Mati Klarwein.
This is yet another album from that. Which should be enjoyed in one listening. Because, as good as each song is, the whole album takes you somewhere else. So, put down the lights, fill the room with smoke and relax into it.
Yeah man y'all listening to some good s*** right here I love Santana have damn near all of his albums but his first three albums hands down are the best 👍💯 another great video damn I enjoyed this one cuz I love Santana's music
Love the percussionists for Santana, they've had a few, all of them very talented musicians, the two Cubans, Armando Peraza and Orestes Vilato to me stand out.
His varied percussionists over his career deserve a standing ovation from his millions of fans, they have fuelled much of his greatest music. They will perform in the afterlife, their energy you can't kill!
In college in the early 80's I had a POS Plymouth Duster with a Sony cassette deck and Marantz quad-axial speakers in the rear deck. I had all of Abraxas on one side of a Maxell UDXL cassette and all of Borboletta on the other side. Played the crap out of this album at stupid volumes with an ashtray full of Marlboro butts and assorted roaches. Good days!
Incredible intro tune on side 2 of that great album, the first 3 Santana albums are solid gold, that original lineup was one of the best of that time, they were constantly played at my high school from 1969 - 1973. My Music and English teachers were both big fans of Santana. More incredible songs coming on side 2, also check out this band live at Tanglewood around 69/70, they were just as good there as at Woodstock. Amazing band, they came through Springfield MA several times back in the day and blew our minds. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Great reaction! If you want to hear these early Santana tracks extended and on STEROIDS, please react to them from the triple live album, Lotus. It will blow your hats off! All these songs are even better live. Lotus is one of the greatest ever live albums.
That’s Greg Rollie on Organ who left then formed Journey with ex Santana guitarist Niel Schon. Keep going on and do “hope you’re felling better “. Or do the live version from Tanglewood!
The cornerstone of my musical appreciation. This fusion of styles is so addictive. My Santana journey started when I bought the Woodstock album. Hendrix, Santana, Who, Sly, Canned Heat etc etc. I want a Santana instrumental for my funeral, whenever that occurs, though I need to sell the idea to my dependents!
TRUE STORY: I shot Carlos for one of his music videos back in the day. We shot on location in Chicago...and about 5,000 people showed up to watch. We were doing a camera reload......and Carlos jumped on the congas and the band just started playing....and i noticed almost every chic in the crowd was dancing like they were hypnotized.....he had this Svengalii effect with his music
Welcome to 1970, guys! I was a junior in high school at the time (so I might be near your parents' age). A lot of groups who today are revered as legends were just getting their start, and was it awesome to hear it all unfold.
Hey La & Che, I love that Latin groove, I put this record on before I start my housework and me my vacuum cleaner do the two step and the LaBamba across my living room floor. 💃🤣 Here's another song, if interested. "Santana - Jingo - (Audio)"
Makes me smile all over. Haven't heard it in a while, guess I fixate on side 1 of the album maybe ... You guys will have to check out Santana 3, which incredibly is about as amazing as Abraxas.
Hey guys hope all is great love your channel Could you guys make your next Santana reaction the sing WINNING came out in 1981 and reached No.2 on the Mainstream Rock Chart and no.17 on.the hot 100
That organ wasn't old school then. They were as common for a band to have as it is for any synth today. Even small venues expected it. If you are familiar with a Hammond B3(or similiar) with a rotating Leslie speaker cabinet, you know that is a seriously heavy, awkward, instrument(not sure but I think wooden organ all one piece). But you cannot replicate the sound, even with today's technology. We're talking physical moving parts. Digital can't mimick the flaws that make that sound unique.
