What a wonderful example of guitar music executed on a electric guitar. Heartfelt and totally emotive in reverence to a higher law of love and compassion. Carlos held an insight into world music and elevated the guitar to a classical status. Long live Carlos Santana.

I'm from wastonville and I think is this is so cool. Carlos Santana came to perform after the 1989 earthquake had damaged alot of the area. I'm 21 years old but if I were alive in 89 I'd definitely go watch Santana perform

@Brianjugos you can still see Santana perform.He is touring in Concert in 2021 & 2022. CARLOS Santana is every bit as great as he was in 1989. I have been listening & going to his concerts since 1969. He is a living LEGEND. 🙏❤️

I started a 30 year teaching career at Watsonville High School months after this concert and still sub there weekly after retiring eight years ago. This concert really brought the community together. I could listen to Carlos Santana play everyday and fortunately RU-vid is overflowing with his and his bandmates' music. What a blessing for the world to enjoy, forever.

Whenever you hear that unmistakable guitar tone you automatically know who it is. He has his own distinct sound on the guitar and it is always so smooth. His brother is also a great guitar player..cool to see them playing together in this performance....perfect for a sunny warm day.
that unmistakable guitar sound that Carlos has is truly magical. theres nobody that can bend a note like that. Mr blue strat is no slouch either. cool.
So brilliant, a great musical Healer plays and the audience feels deeply healed or resurrected .......! The Duo version with John Lee Hooker is also heavenly inspired....! Just a masterpiece ....

This was a total surprise finding this awesome video! I had never heard this song by Santana, and have been listening to him since '68. The performance, sound, camera work and editing was excellent! Saw Carlos back in mid eighties at 6 flags in Missouri at old glory amphitheater under the influence of mescaline. A heavy dose. Concert was billed as the original woodstock line up. Sat 3rd row. I remember he always had incense burning. As the years progressed I saw him 8 more times. Always had incense burning. Hes at the top of my list. Such a beautiful spirit

Santana almost 30 years ago simply the best, Santana today 2019 still simply the best. Santana a living legend and icon started in 1966. I started loving Santana in 1977 and still do, deeply. His music is so uplifting I try to listen to at least one song every day.
