Great review Tom, always good to see... And if you need to put an ad in front of the video - so be it... if a little extra income can make sure you can continue doing reviews - then that's welcome... Looking forward to hopefully be able to send you a prototype review request in the future. Have a good day!
What are you talking about? As long as the ads are there, Dicetower gets paid by those supplying the ads. Doesn't matter if you block the ads or not. Only if the ads are removed, does he not get paid. If the ads were skippable, he'd get much less paid, because the company supplying the ads would know everyone just skip them, and therefore wouldn't offer to pay as much. Some online newspapers alternate between skippable and non-skippable ads, and they get less from those providing skippable ads.
There's no clickable ads on TV, my man. The way ads work, is that you see the product advertised, and are supposed to be compelled to purchase that product. They get paid for having ads activated before/after their videos. A RU-vid-channel should not be responsible for how many people click on an ad, as it is not the owners of that channel who have made that ad/commercial, so they have nothing to do with it - nothing to do with how attractive it is, etc.
Yes, because that solves the problem if Tom doesn't get ANYTHING from it when doing it that way... I think the best way could have been if the ads were skippable...
Good post. I use Firefox with ad-blocker and have no problems. But some people, like RayfromAustria are Drama Queen Prima Donas who simply want other people listen to them complain- it's all about attention.
OK. You forced my hand: 1) RU-vid has got to make money somehow. You ever heard that thing about a free lunch? 2) It can be blocked by a simple ad-blocker, available on nearly all browsers. 3) Only sad, lonely people get pointlessly outraged about 15-second ads in front of 10 minutes of otherwise free video. HULK CRY!!!!
