This looks fantastic! When the video mentions steel wool and vinegar, what does the steel wool refer to? And what was the tool you used on the gun lines?
You put vinegar in a jar and some steel wool inside until all the steel wool is dissolved by the vinegar, if this solution is old, it will "rust", that's what I'm using The tool I can't find the exact one, but it's something like this www.amazon.de/dp/B07TKMC3YR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_BWMWFbNZAXG1C?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I am following your build and your craftmanship is unequaled...bravo!!! I have a question regarding the planking of the main deck from bulkhead 11, 16 to 18 (rear part of the deck or transom). If part 52 (poop deck I believe) covers the rear portion of the main deck, is it really necessary to bother planking the main deck aft of the bulkhead 11 and 16 to the transom?
Put steel wool and vinegar inside a jar, the vinegar wl dissolve the steel wool, carefully on the beginning gas will be produced, do not fully seal the jar, this solution will produce a gray stain, over a couple weeks, it will "rust" and gain a rusty tone, that's what I call old steel wool and vinegar solution
Great video! What was the point of inserting the toothpicks at the ends of each plank then snipping them off? Does this simulate the look of nails in the planks?
Old solution of vinegar and steel wool, old enough to get the rusty color,. And after isopropyl alcohol and Indian ink 50 drops of ink on 200 ml of alchool
