Great information… I’m heading to your Island in early April. I’ve reviewed several of your videos and I’m happy to say that I’m ready. Thanks for all your help 🎉
This video is great! I love how you break it down with practical graphs and tables to make it easier to understand 😊. Thank you! Do you cover other islands as well?
I was in Santorini 10 to 15 Mar 2024.. all days are sunshine but not hot.. only 1 day windy and 1 day with 30 min light rain then sunshine. Many shops and restos were closed but Fira ans Oia are not ghost towns.. still some people and with little crowd make the great pictures. However, the ferry to Mykonos from Santorini is not started until end Mar so we did nit manage to visit Mykonos
I am going to be there just for 1 night..from 8th to 9th June...It is a return after 15 years..the last time being bused up from a cruise..I guess I had better not be too greedy with the my short time there. THank you.
Hello, can you plz advise specifically if last week of March upto first week of April is an okay time to visit Santorini. atleast we will find some people? Also if at that time I will get boat from Athens to Santorini? + will that be too windy and cold?
Very thorough and thoughtful video. My personal opinion for best time to go to greece(not santorini) for similar criteria is last week of May to mid June. Or September. I found by around May 20th water temperature perfect along with outside temperature. Not completely quiet but definitely not crazy summer crowds. On mainland prices for hotels remained cheap even until June. Heat waves can start in June but first two weeks less likely. September is almost perfect but is busier and pricier as a lot of tourists pick it over July August as weather warm and I don't think I ever experienced heat wave in September. I have in June, July, August before. And sea temperature still really good. It was strange this year the islands seemed to have a near record year but the mainland did not recover from covid and tourism was way down. Felt bad for the businesses but was easier to see things and get accommodation.
I came across your channel probably due to the algorithm of likes I have been doing since I am visiting Santorini in early sept which I’m so excited. (I wonder if the humid hot weather is what we get in Texas) I’m going through your videos so thank you for this it has been so helpful. Also good to know you do a Athens tour cause I’ll also be there. Thanks for all the tips
I'm island hopping at the end of April, beginning of May 2023, going to be finishing my journey on Santorini for 4 days, have everything planned thanks to your videos 😎
I wish I found this video before I booked a hotel. 🙈 Your videos are really helpful. Just a quick question, we are going on the 1st week of April this year. What is the weather like? Is it windy? Thinking about what to pack as I have an 8-year-old with me. Thank you.
Santorini is always windy, so yes it'll be windy :-D Temperature will be around 15 degrees, mostly sunny. Definitely wind jackets for the day and thicker jackets for the evenings.
Would like to start off by saying your channel is amazingly helpful! We have our trip booked from October 11-20 this year - will we still have activities/restaurants to do and eat at? I’m a little worried now 😢
Hello Sebastian! I love your content. I will be visiting on Oct 25 and our ship will port at 1pm. I see there will be another ship leaving at 4pm. We will be the only ship at port for the sunset. I can't wait to enjoy the beauty of Santorini. Have a Happy New Year!!🥳
Your content has been so helpful with my trip planning - especially the breakdown of the bus lines! Thank you! I am coming to Santorini in April and was hoping to get a ferry from Thira to Heraklion. I am thinking it is too early in the season for a ferry - there are no direct ones coming up on ferry hopper. Would you recommend waiting a little while longer for an updated schedule? Or should I just book a flight? Thanks for any advice you can give!
Thanks Sebastian for this channel, so helpful and valuable info. So when it comes to less crowd, open restaurants and weather, April would be a better option than going in November?.
We're going to be in Santorini from September 7th-11th. What is the average sea temperature then? We're from Florida and we're use to the ocean temperature being between 80F to 85F degrees. We went to Capri in September of 2021 and if I had to guess the water temperature was in the low 70's and it felt cold. We booked a Volcano tour and were planning on going swimming in the hot springs.
Hello, can you tell me which side of the island is better? I have two hotels to choose from. Ambassador Santorini in Caldera Bay or Canaves Oia Suites. Which location is better! Where is it not so hot or more windy in summer? Thank you if can help me.
We r planning to visit Greece (athens, santorini and mykonos) in Oct 1st week.. Will the restaurants, beaches or may b any activities closed or not?? Is it advisable to visit at that time?? Also shud we move our trip to oct 15??
Hello Sebastian!!.I would love to know which hotels you used to make this price comparison. I would love to be able to enjoy once in a lifetime one of those hotels with views of the caldera, but I wouldn't know how to distinguish a good one. (and hopefully I don't have to walk as far to get to it as you mentioned in another video). once again thanks for your information, always good information
Hi Sebastian, We are planning our Santorini trip for 4 days in second half of October and it will be completely Santorini, nothing else. Just want to check on car rentals, can we take it after coming there or we have book upfront?
@@koushiksreenivas6493 It all depends what you like ... Watch my "Things to do in Athens" video and that should help you make up your mind :-) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hecReSX70gs.html
Hi Sebastian, I will go to Santorini from 3rd Apr to 6 Apr for my honeymoon trip. You will suggest me to stay at which part of Santorini? Is all the shops open in fira and oia during April?
@@GreeceExplained during early April, will oia be crowded during sunset time? Do you have any recommended hotel (good view with more affordable rate) to share since is low season. Which hotel got the best offer ? :)
@@tanhweemien2096 No Oia will not be that crowded at sunset time. Best Hotels in Oia : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-djO2x0czRQg.html Their rates in April are MUCH lower than what you'll see in the video, so go and have a look which ones are within your budget.
I would Athens Santorini Crete. Mykonos will be all closed, as I explain in this vid : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6gE1kNHJSgo.html
Air BNBs are also on the uprise for 2023. The Oia 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen overlooking the Caldera I stayed x 5 days in 2022 is currently listing as 3x the price I paid for same week for 2023. I booked 1 year in advance. Not sure I would pay that price for 2023 or would stay fewer nights.
Unfortunately with the fast flow of information today, the shoulder seasons are going to become square. So before you know it, the bargains will be eradicated. Such is the case in the world of tourism in these post-covid days...
Places only start reopening late March, so 10-15 March is still considered 100% off season. But as you might've seen in my video about Santorini in the winter time, there are still a few things to do on the island, and some restaurants are open. It usually only rains 2-3 days during March, so unless you have bad luck, you should be okay.
Hey I’ve already booked my visit to santorini for 27 to 29 december in Ducato Di oia - is that a good idea? We don’t like crowds n there’s a hot tub watching caldera. Will it be good?
Yes if you like peace, its gonna be perfect. I explain what Santorini looks like in the winter in this video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EhVQBOJLeyk.html
