Thanks for sharing this vlog, it'll come in handy. I like how you present your video in a way that it's realistic and practical for would be travellers heading to the Greek Islands. 👍Cheers!
It is a beautiful island. I preferred Perissa beach, as the sand was softer, but it felt strange that it was black in colour. I was warned the red beach was prone to subsidence and not to use it. There was a nice shop in Perissa, that sold beautiful photographic prints of the island, they make for nice presents, or memories of your trip, to hang on the wall. I also found it very hot to walk around taking photographs and the cliffs in Fera had my vertigo raging. In Oia I saw parents put a young child on a wall with a steep drop the other side. They seemed unconcerned when I warned them. The marble pavements in Oia were also interesting, a lot of people get married there and pose for their wedding photos. Some of those cliff- top residences burrowed into the cliff were charging £30,000 per week when I was there. Obviously, there are many other places to stay for a more modest outlay but I couldn't help wondering who could pay that much for a weeks accomodation. I enjoyed your video, it brought back a lot of memories. Thanks for uploading.
Jeff!: Question…when were you in Santorini? We will be cruising there in October, and was wondering about the heat and humidity of when you experienced it. Santorini is gorgeous! I can’t wait to visit! Thanks so much for a preview!
that’s why i’m waiting until the fall to make my reservations 😭 i know the summertime is the worst time to travel anywhere, overpriced, hot ass weather, mosquitoes biting you, crowded
You can take the bus from the port when you arrive at Santorini and it’s cheaper. The bus goes to Fira town actually is the Central bus station for the island. From the central bus station you can hit different parts of the island for about 1euro and 60 cents.
Really loving this video, thanks for doing it. I just subscribed. I have a couple questions I hope you can answer. I try to film stuff when I’m traveling and it just isn’t as good as your videos. Do you have an expensive camera or do you use an iPhone? If you use an iPhone do you use a stabilizer? What do you use? Where did you stay in Santorini? Hope you can answer my questions.
I just came back from Santorini and loved it! For the Euronet ATM I used it and noticed they charge a conversion rate for dollars, so I declined and I got it in euros plus the atm fees, which my bank waived so it ended up being ok. I'm wondering if that's what's tripping folks up? We were warned from a tour in Athens not to use them either.
I have a question my friend and I are heading to Greece and we book a place in Athens for 2 nights but we will like to go to any island to relax for 4 night where it will be affordable ( 2 retirees on a budget) any suggestions which major island and places to stay? Thanks! Lory
I rented a small car in santorini perfect for getting around, going again august will do it again, can’t remember the exact price but was like £60\70 for the day
You do recomented to buy the insurance which they tell you that is "full insurance" "BUT" you dont know that this insurance cover nothing, i hope for people who rent a car for those all renthals better dont crash or even scratch even small scratch any car-atv-scooter from rental because they will charge you thousands of euros. This is the truth.
Google User: I stayed at the Hotel George, little way inland from Fera, the main town. It was very affordable, very clean, hotel pool and owned by a Greek and English couple, who were a lovely couple. It was about a 25 minute walk into town.
