Cove was a phenomenal vocalist. He had incredible talent. The reason why he was asked to leave Saosin is because he let his abilities deteriorate. His power, range, clarity, and consistency all slowly withered away because he didn't take the time to rest his vocal chords, warm up, or train when he needed to. Smoking cigarettes before each show didn't help much either. Singing as well as he did is hard, but totally possible if you keep at it.
yup, you said it perfect. I love Cove's vocals on the Saosin album but I've heard that was quite a long battle. Singing high pitched like he does on so many songs is extremely tough. And when you smoke and don't really take care of the vocal chords; it ain't gonna work for very long. It's a shame because I really like his vocals when they are strong and clear.
@@Ocidad Indeed. This self-titled album is their strongest effort imo, a total banger front to back. I love their use of metal riffs and drumming even though their music has strong pop sensibilities. Catchy yet complex. Just quality music overall.
@vilmacelestial4173 although I prefer Cove myself both singers are great on their own, but this was when Saosin shined the brightest. Translating the Name is a classic too :)
Definitely! The band was at its peak here. I like Anthony, but I'm sad they didn't have the chance to make more music with Cove. I'm even a fan of ISOSG, there's some songs I really like off that album despite the tonal shift. Songs like this one off their self-titled are untouchable though.
@@Goofzillers I heard it was because Cove didn't took care of his vocal properly and his voice and singing skill deteriorated so they fired him, not sure if it's true but he did kinda sounded bad live during ISOSG era.
I miss the part when we were moving forward now (On our way down) But maybe someday I'll be something more than love Just know I'll never tell And when you're on your way down (Through the clouds) And you're waiting for your body's reentry again We speak in different voices When fighting with the ones we've loved We speak in different voices Why can't we say what we're thinking of? I'm missing parts now that you've told me everything (On our way down) And I was blessed, and I've forgotten how to love You said you'd never tell And when you're on your way down (Through the clouds) And you're waiting for your body's reentry again We speak in different voices When fighting with the ones we've loved We speak in different voices Why can't we say what we're thinking of? @@iamanactualcat That opinion definitely lies in the ears of the beholder. Personally, I can't stand Anthony Green, and his performance of this song live absolutely butchered and destroyed it. If you think Cove was bad 12 years ago, he doesnt even hold a candle to the atrocious attempt that Green made at some of the Cove era Saosin songs hes performed recently.
you only have to watch the hundreds of other live saosin videos on youtube videos to know this is tweaked with, but still seemed like a good performance.

wat is auto tune if ur saying the mike is riged or something its not they recorded averything from the mikes and stuff for this dvd that's y it sounds super good its not a fansy mic if that's what ur thinking
The backing vocals are always louder than Cove and it's ridiculous because they sound horrendous. Seems pretty egotistical to try to drown out the main vocalist
