I guess we should not create business areas other than segments from ECC6 onwards I believe the SAP Note 8928 - Business Area in R/3 Financials. In this note, SAP recommends that users should not create additional business areas beyond the standard business area functionality provided in the SAP R/3 Financials system. Instead, users should use segments to represent additional financial reporting dimensions. The reason for this recommendation is that creating additional business areas can lead to increased complexity and maintenance costs in the system. In contrast, using segments allows for greater flexibility in reporting and analysis without the need for additional configuration or maintenance. It is important to note that this recommendation applies to systems running ECC6 or later versions of SAP. Earlier versions of SAP may have different recommendations or limitations on the use of business areas and segments.

Is profit centre in FI equals plant in MM

Could you please clarify for me the internal trading partners point that are created as companies . For ex: do you mean creating 3 internal TP " tata steel/Power/Communications"and then creating for each 3 company codes that are the same as ITP or creating for each internal ITP the only one Company Code . If you mean creating 3 ITP and for each ITP one CC , how could we link between them for intercompany transactions, Thanks in advance
