Why does everyone think this is man at arms, he doesnt just make these swords because you ask for them, people pay for these and he makes these videos to show us the process, not for suggestions on his next build.

True it doesn't seem like his sword is well balanced not is it sharpened using actual hardening techniques that comes with real sword making but you know his swords would cost a fortune if he made these swords 100% usable. Still I admire his work of creativity. He should of made it the sword have a slight curve like a katana and man that sword would have been murderous.

@Ch4oTiK 8 лет назад
+DontPhearThisReaper Nah, Profile view when talking about perspective is usually a side view. +Jason Cohn Yeah Projected/auxiliary can be top-down sometimes. People use them for floor and building plans and it's a combination of top-down, isometric and profile angles normally, depends on the projected angle.
@jasoncohn3944
@jasoncohn3944 8 лет назад
Yes, it's all part of orthographic projection. I'm a machinist so I see this every day. That said, I don't claim to know everything about the ANSI standards for technical drawings, but I can create a technical drawing if I need to.
@Ch4oTiK
@Ch4oTiK 8 лет назад

@TheSighphiguy
@TheSighphiguy 8 лет назад
+ Manboutu actually its a "just beginning" art. making weapons this way is a fairly new thing. "blacksmithing" is what some might say is dying. and if you wanted a "real" weapon...this is the LAST guy you would commission. if all you want is a wall hanger....this is the guy.
@manboutuomaeley4311
@manboutuomaeley4311 8 лет назад
Sigh Phi Guy you need to watch his video with Aatrox and him smashing on a car with it. then hitting a sword he made with a sledgehammer and jumping up and Down on the sword. These. are no wall hangers.
@TheSighphiguy
@TheSighphiguy 8 лет назад
Manboutu O'maeley i saw it. its not a sword. its just a piece of cut steel. in what practical application could you ever wield it? maybe The Mountain could wield it as a weapon, but thats about it. if you used that monstrocity to defend yourself, it would only lead to your quick and inevitable death. did you not hear him puffing with exertion just to lift it? i stand by my statement that its only purpose is to be put on display.

Yes, butttttttt with the higher table I can see how close to the edge of the edge I'm getting with the grinder, does that make sense? I don't want to over grind the edge, and have it be uneven, I have to make sure the edge comes to an apex in the middle of the blade thickness.

A chat? Surely. A review? I think not. Michael makes awesome swordlike objects. Skall is into real functional swords. There is no real point in a serious review. Maybe something like his fantasy design reviews would be possible but unlikely. Im sure skall appreciates what mike does and would consider criticisng the design as inpolite as the intention clrly is not to be functional but to be cool.

Justin McMullen *Drops a pipe hundreds of miles long on the table. Stuffs the bag of sausages in one end. Creates a vacuum inside pipe. Attaches a huge tank with a quadrillion bar pressure to the same end with the sausages.* Would you be so kind and stand in front of the pipe please? ...open valve.

He Ka im still not convinced. Itd just be a mush by the far end. I seriously wanna test this now
@TheRealFOSFOR
@TheRealFOSFOR 7 лет назад
I'm no scientist so I cant give any real numbers. But you seriously think a "mush" travelling multiple times the speed of sound would not make a dent? The reason I made the pipe so long was so that the bag had the chance of picking up speed gently so it would not turn in to a mush. And with no air resistance I don't see why it could not keep its form. At first I was thinking of more like a slowly accelerating rail gun apparatus but the air pressurized pipe was much simpler to explain.

you have no idea how much i like to watch this type if vids, i really really want to be able to do this too! but i can not for so many reasons its not even funny. sometimes i try to make a detailed sword in wood, but i never bin able to give it much detail then i would like. anyways video's like this makes me wish i live near you so i can watch and learn. because you can only learn so much from look at video's. i swear if i earn or win a surplus of money i buy my self a forge, set of tools & machines and i'll start doing this (without the youtube stuff ofc) great work keep it up.

I use battery acid (sulphuric acid 35%) from the auto store as a pickling solution on my brazed sculpture to remove the flux residue. Typically I dilute it 1:1 with water to make ~12.5% acid and leave the parts in overnight. Makes removing the discoloration and flux WAY easier. Also, heating the glassy areas up nice and hot (dull glow) then dropping into a water bucket or squirting it with water fractures off a lot of the large pieces. I do that before I soak. The acid lasts a damn long time (still on my first purchase with liters left).

Things i learned watching michaelcthulhu "I need more angle grinders. Angle Grinders are amazing." "Why get a lathe when you can have vertial poverty lathe?" "It is possible to weld something to good (see many temporary weld jobs that do not want to budge)." "Cheap whire wheels are bad mkay?" "Insane amounts of sparks are not an issue. Just direct them out the window while you work your poverty lathe!" "Yes, people really do and did use crazy mechanical wheels and counter balances just to make angle grinding easier." More to come and post your own :D
