I was born in 1942 in Balangoda near Ratnapura with gem mines all around. No one would ever dream of purchasing a Thermally /Heat treated Sapphire then but now its a very common practice. I bought a blue sapphire from a trusted gem shop some years ago and had it tested by a Govt approved tester who studied in London and had certs from there before I paid for it as I did not want to have a (heat treated Geuda) having waited so long. ON another occasion I bought an expensive one in C'bo from well known jeweller there who gave me a CERTIFICATE stating it was a NATURAL corundum so believing it was bona fide I took it home only to have it tested in London and found it had been thermallly treated and has faded! BE WARNED do not trust a certificate. produced by a seller. To me , the magic of a natural gem is to have it just polished and cut by man to reveal its magical beauty which Mother earth too eons to produce and not cooked in some oven to produce an artificial glow. A NATURAL gem sold as such should NOT be HEAT TREATED. I hope your Company differentiates between the two. and wish you well in the Gem City of my childhood

You should be ashamed of the conditions how these poor Miners work. Can't you spend just a meager amount from the huge profits made from selling these Gems. The major prized Gems are taken away by your Company. Would it be in Europe like putting those Miners in a sink hole and risking their lives.
