It's better to use natural oil for less maintenance. Grease creates gunk so you are more likely to do more maintenance. Also if you're gonna use grease (which I don't recommend you use natural oil instead) use dielectric grease (he mentioned silicon in the video but better mention the word "dielectric" here for anyone who might missed that part in the vid it's basically the same as silicone but you might have trouble looking online, dielectric is commonly used by sellers).
Yoooo that fucking did it lol, lubed those things up and cleaned the connectors real well, no more full speed spinning and it's working with extra low noise
Very well and correctly done, I also have nitro and one of the fans, the one that cools towards the VRM, makes noise as if there was sand in it, I lubricated it with liquid oil for the car, but the sound became even noisier, I need thick lubricant, maybe silicone lubricant for the cooler will do? thanks for the tip!
@@pythoneatssquirrel Sorry I misunderstood. I can't see how the washer can break. you remove it with a thin peace of metal, do the cleaning or lubricating and then put the washer back in place, it sort of clips itself into place and holds everything well. I am more concerned about the sticker on the back of the fan, once you peel it off it will look ugly or impossible to glue itself back. I guess i could get some children glue stick and will be fine
@@Ladioz I use white tape or black one. I broke a lot of washers in the past. If they are old and made out of plastic will break, if they are old and made out of metal will rust and break
One of my Gpu fans randomly goes full speed then stops for some time then randomly goes full speed again, all while idle. While gaming it only goes full speed. Do you think its just the fan that needs repairing or maybe an issue with something else like the sensor or cables for example?
Sounds to me like you guys could have a contact issue on the fan or the cable/connector. Really hard to say but if you can take a multimeter and check! It could also just be a "dead" fan and the speed controller on it is acting up... Best of luck!
So i have Rx590 i replace the fans from original 580 and it works fine, but i start to hear that noise is back at higher rpm, its just bad luck, or there is something wrong with the gpu itself that can cause the issue, like idk my card don't hang proper in the gpu slot that makes my right fan to have issues when spinning.
Hi!, do you think that the Sapphire nitro RX 470 will be the same for lubricating the fans? I always thought they were "armored" fans and that they could not be lubricated
you can try. Probably it will do the job. At least you can't do any damage this way. If you dont like the sound they make after oiling, you can simply disassemble again and brush it with a cloth. I am thinking that only cleaning with pure alcohol or I've seen they use contact cleaner as well will make an improvement with no oil or grease at all.
Can sewing oil also be used for lubrication?Because i've done it that way and fans spin but at higher rpm of fans it kinda lets annoying sound like low pitched scratching(i dont know how to describe it better haha)
Mhm i see,i've done it and fans spin, but they seem to produce some weird sound(i got video on my channel about it),did i mess something up or what haha
@@sjstexx7783 i do think using regular grease still better because it's viscousness, sewing oil is thinner thus causing a bit of vibration which produce weird sound.
Hey, i wouldn't know the correct term for it. I just call it a plastic fan shaft washer. If you happened to lose it you can look for a replacement in other similar fans.
@@gallep4894 I did and it's same, but my fan is wobbling and making a grinding noise. Edit:- I fixed it by applying lubrication just like you did in video, thankyou so much bro now my sapphire Nitro+ 6800XT is silent.
i have the same gpu as yours Nitro 580 4gb i have clean fans and recently the fans wont spin i updated the graphics drivers, there are time when the fans spins and sometimes the fans wont spin or it will just spin for a couple of seconds then it will stop spinning, what seems to be the problem? Specs: Ryzen 3 3100 Asus a320-k hyper x 2666 2x8 SSD Corsair CV550 Nitro 580 4g
@@gallep4894 i tried removing and cleaning the pins of the psu and the pcie slot, still it wont spin even the temps reaches 84°C that should spin the fans but it wont spin need help
@@melow8472 Sounds to me like you have an issue with the ic that powers the fans...or there is a fuse blown. Can't tell without propper tools and knowledge. Make sure the fans are installed correctly and that the 4 pin connector on the board isn't plugged in backwards. If you have a multimeter you can check if you get 12V on + and - lead of the fan...If there is no voltage you have board issues if there is you have fan issues...For the meanwhile you can just remove the plastic shroud of the gpu and install regular 82,92,120mm fans and connect them to the motherboard. Let me know how it goes!
@@gallep4894 i check the gpu it seems to be working fine(i guess) i think its about the voltage maybe it does not have enough voltage? my psu coils whine from time to time, when i turn on the switch of the psu it makes a sizzle sound and also when i turn the pc on, does this have to do with the gpu?
You could buy a set of bolts for laptops on ebay or if you have any old maybe rc car or something you can probably disassembe it to find a similar bolt. Hope you find a solution.
