OMG Now I know why I've lived this long. Well worth the wait seeing Sara Baras dance. I hope one day I can watch her in a live performance. If not, I'm so happy I got to see at least a few videos like this of her performances. Brava to say the least.

She is indeed magnificent dancer. I wish though that I understand the lyrics. If I get some translation I would highly appreciate it. Flamenco is very muscular and extremely tiring. So, this dancer is in extremely good physical condition and it looks that she dances with her heart too.
@@galinapopov909 Lyrics don't mean anything in particular. He makes meaningful sentences, but you won't find any dialectic structure in prose or verse. Flamenco is divided into "styles" called "palos". This palo is called "Martinete". The Martinete is a solemn palo that is played without a guitar, using only percussion and voice. The voice is a lament ( called "quejío") because the Martinete was originated centuries ago in blacksmiths and is like a wail for hard work. The lyrics talk about sadness and complaint. In fact, in some Martinetes they make metal bars collide to simulate the impact of the metals in the forge. It is similar to another palo called "Carcelera", but the lyrics talk about prisoners because "Cárcel" means jail and it is older than the Martinete.

My daughter treated me to Ms. Baras Flamenco Festival at the NYC Center last night and I must say it was one of the most memorable shows of my life. This woman and her group are exceptional in every way. Professional down to the expressions on their faces when they dance, they are truly into their performances. Their body language, their facial expressions, they are synchronized with each other. The musicians they performed every beat, every sound and when they did their solo performance, I really lost it. It took everything in my power to stay seated and not break out dancing 💃. All I can say is what an evening, thank you to my daughter Lisa, for taking me, thank you to this wonderful Flamenco Dance Group for their performances and last, but definitely not the least, to Ms. Sara Baras, all I can say to put it into one sentence, is that this dancer has fire, pure fire 🔥 in her feet. God’s blessings and May you all always continue dancing!!!!!!

Let's first mention the vocalists : SUPERB. Although not quite as powerfull as Maria Callas or James Brown : They kick ass. 😲. The choreography and expression in the dancing is allmost beyond words. I'll be watching this video over and over again....

Esto es clase. Es una profesional magnífica del Flamenco. Totalmente apasionada. Pienso que ese tablado es especial para resaltar los sonidos de su zapateado. Su traje muy elegante. La escenificación, los bailarines que bailaron junto a ella, la iluminación, todo el conjunto nos transporta a otro mundo. Fabuloso.
Lo que notas no es porque el tablao sea especial, es porque el martinete es solemne y sin guitarra. Sólo se escucha percusión y quejío. Además las letras son tristonas, de pena. Es como un lamento del trabajo duro. De hecho hay martinetes en los que pegan con metales para simular golpeos de la fragua, porque este palo se originó en las herrerías. Se parece a las carceleras pero más moderno. Las letras de las carceleras van de estar preso más que trabajando 😆
