Sara wrote this song and deserves all the shine in the world for it, but it's so gracious of her to let so many other people sing it and rock the hell out of it like Brandi did.
SB is really one of a kind. Nobody writes songs the way she does: effortlessly, despite deep and tough lyrics. No big chords' changes, great unusual melodies, heartfelt vocals... An updated version of Joni Mitchell, given a less catchy period in time, delivering less catchy tunes, gloomy yet not sad
Brandi is a fenominal singer/song writer with an empathetic heart of gold. This, & her interaction & realness with the lucky crowd of people she's singing to, puts her among the greatest performers of all time.
I just cried my eyes out hearing this sung by two of my favorite artists, what an amazing song and voices you could only dream of being so fortunate to have!! This was a gift for sure, THANK YOU for Myers Boicourt for uploading this video and sharing.
After I first discovered Sara on Myspace, I had the pleasure of seeing her live. Her voice is timeless. And Brandi is finally receiving the recognition she deserves. Well earned and deserved.💙
Brandi’s vibrato is unparalleled…thats the secret sauce to her voice. Sarah seems to try and imitate, it is a natural inclination for a musician, maybe she does it for cohesion, which makes her pliable, she is, in my opinion, a superior vocalist.
I was fortunate enough to be present to witness this live. Let me just say it was riveting. I don't know if there was a dry eye in the crowd of 5000 people. Who accomplishes this live and outside with a stage overlooking a courtyard? They do. Because this was magic and we all knew it. I believe we also knew we were damn lucky to be there. I've watched this over 100x since that night. It never gets old. Thanks for posting it.
Honestly, this is a modern-day Broadway classic. It's such a greta song for a powerhouse singer. It also gives ample opportunities for creative expression and emotional depth. It's a great audition piece...
I’ve been a fan since love song. I saw Sara for the first time in concert when I was 19 years old. I’ll be 34 next month. I haven’t gone more than a week or two without listening to her music since I fell in love with her all that time ago. She is such a fantastic artist. We’re so lucky to have her.
Agreed!!! She is so under appreciated IMO I’m in your camp-I fell in love with her years ago and have luckily seen her live 5 times….she’s even better live. I wish I’d seen this live too--it sounds like it was one of the best collabs she’s ever done on one of her own songs. Superb!!!!🙌🙌🙌🙌
I have listened to this song a few hundred thousand times. LOVE this duet of it. And no matter how many times I have heard this song, the tears that come on every time 'She is gone....' is sung.....
I love how there are mistakes in the harmonies. But there are moments where they lock in and you can almost hear a click because it’s so perfect. Two powerhouses. I want a trio with Jennifer Nettles.
@@andrewbreen8885to be clear, this is not negative, this is them singing raw and it’s amazing and beautiful. It’s the timing because they don’t sing/play together constantly. Once again, I love it.
@@hannahremmel9550 I get it’s your training…but to praise their song and also mention there are mistakes in the harmonies makes it seem to me like a backhanded compliment. But whatever…..just my opinion.
@@hannahremmel9550 gotcha. I thought you meant harmonic mistakes. Yeah, the timing doesn't quite match up in a couple places. I agree with you that's raw and gorgeous. Real singing beats over-produced studio stuff every time. Well, not *every* time. :)
I keep coming back to watch this. I’m always blown away at how effortless and powerful Sara’s voice is. She has incredible control and her technical strengths are just a joy to watch.
This song was the highlight of the week for me. I was absolutely overcome after their performance. Thank you for posting, it instantly transported be back to that moment. Truly magical.
