We lost our Border 6 years ago today. I viewed your video for some grief therapy. He lived a long life, but we still miss him every day -- greatest dog ever. Cherish every day you have with Sara!
My border terrier Tasha passed away not long ago. she was 15 and lived an amazing life...not many people seem to have border's...they are amazing dogs.
Wow, loved your video, Sara is very sweet and you have trained her well. I am getting a BT female who is 2 years old in 3 more weeks, I can't wait!! I can see they really need a fenced yard and lots of walks. She is very lovely and shows that smart dogs like that need good training! Hope all is well with you and Sara!
I love this video, when were thinking about getting a border, I showed this to my parents and it was decided!:) And it was the best decision we could have made, borders are so amazing! Our border is two years already (I got two video on my channel of when he was a puppy). We couldn't have wished for a better family dog.
What a beautiful and well trained border terrier. I have one - little girl called Amy just 5 months red grizzle. I would like to get her to learn some of these tricks too. She is very smart and very willing to please.
Borders make great pets/companions. They are in my opinion as smart as any terrier breed out there. The only drawback to the breed is their natural instinct to "bolt" after prey they see. 95% of them must be kept on a leash at all times when not in a fenced in enclosure or risk being hit by a car. They are not like a Lab or Golden where they will stand by the owner. They are natural explorers. Other than that they are phenomenal dogs.
100% agree if they get off the leash hope you’re fit took us 2 and half hours to get saffy back she kept running she took a break only if she was a far enough away from her so we use a double lead now 🐕
I was lucky. My boy was happy to stay with me. (I rarely let him off leash in public, but when he escaped the yard sometimes, I would never have to chase him down. His reaction was always more, "Oh, hi! There you are! Is it time to go home now?")
@@Ogerking there are some pros and cons, she is very protective around me and she barks alot when we walk past other dogs. But when I'm in the dogpark with her she's totally fine with the dogs. She plays well with out family cat too. And she doesn't drop much hair either :)
Thanks for making this video! It is honestly what made me decide to get a border terrier 3 months ago. Now my Hazel pup is asleep on the couch next to me me. This video was an amazing perspective on what it is like to own a border terrier. They are amazing dogs with terrific spirit and companionship.
Hazel was "fixed" and it hasn't charged her personality or character at all. She is just as lively and energetic as ever. I will post some videos soon.
It's always great to see other border terriers and see them exhibit the same mannerisms as our 2 Borders. These dogs are real high energy dogs, but such loving personalities! So gentle with kids. Only thing is the high pitch bark when they get excited and stripping their coat in summer, but I wouldn't change them for the world.
Wow, Sara is very obedient! She is also quite a cute border terrier, We have recently got a puppy border terrier, she lies just like sara, with her legs out at 0:41
Our Border, Tucker, reminds me alot of your Sarah... they look almost exactly the same and both do that crazy running thing we refer to as 'ripping'....especially after a walk. Thanks for posting.
Hee hee, she looks just like my border terrier Chief though your Sara is much better behaved. But I love Chief. He's got a lot of moxy and love. Plus I've never had a dog with such an expressive face before. Gotta love BTs!
they are so smart, very smart, mine was mixed with German Shep, as big as a German shep but looked like a terrier, the love of my life, I will always miss him, so damn smart, FOREVER in my heart, almost 3 years now and he's still there
Super little girl, got a bt myself and he provides us with hours of entertainment!! He does a lot of the crazy running that your girl does!!! Super video of a super breed of dog!!
Wow. You did a great job on this movie. Thanks for all the smiles. We have a Border Terrier named Lulu and she's 16 months old. I can hardly believe how similar she is to Sara in looks and habits (such as the upside down sleeping).
you guys are great owners. I put a border down a few years ago because she had cancer in her throat. but she was the best dog ever. I wish you and the dog the best :]
I found this video and was so pleased to watch it. We too have a BT and she is just the most amazing dog. I didn't actually know she was a BT when we got her nearly 10 years ago as she was given away from someone else but when we lost our other little man last year and she went into depression I went looking for a friend for her and I came across some photos on Google and that was that. She talks to us, and yes she does bark but mainly at the door to people just to say hi.... oh .. Her name is Muffin.
You have made my day. I also use a wheelchair and desperately want a dog for my family. I thought I might not be able to cope but you look fine with it. Thanks
We've taken on a 5 yr old Border Terriorist ( he hates other dogs apart from Greyhounds (?)He is the most loving and companionable little lad with people though. We've both got a new lease of life as a result. Rocky Rules !!!!
She is cute. I have a border terrier schnauzer mix...at least that is what I think he is. I definitely see resemblance to your dog. Good job with the training. All the best
I am happy to know that there is another border terrier that does the full speed running in circles around the house and yard for no reason. My six month old Border does it and I just though he was crazy. Well he'll be happy to know he is normal, at least for a BT.
How sweet - since I first saw the border terriër I fell totally in love with them. And my border Midas the most handsome ever off course - I ve put a lot of lovely pictures and videos on my channel for everyone to enjoy him 💕
Been thinking about getting a border for years, love the mischievous look of them..I've heard they can be a bit of hard work but after watching your videos and many others,I've decided to look for my new buddy,a few months ago I lost my 14 yr old lady Staffordshire bull terrier due to cancer...terrible circumstances and ill health meant I had to get her put to sleep.....broke my heart and rocked the house hold....she could never be replaced in any way at all ,but we have decided we are getting a border not to fill her place but to bring a new companion into our lives...great vid 👌🏻guys ...any one in the uk with borders available could you contact me please, there's not many breeders near me....thanks Dave ....
Reminds me so much of my border Milly! (although she is never that obedient hahaa) she does that wierd thing with her legs too like Sarah does at 0.39 its so cute! :')
Hi Chris, thanks for the comment. I currently am owned by three dogs and I live by myself. Yes, it's a bit of work but the joy they give me far outweigh the effort. Sara sleeps with me every night and I can't imagine my life without Jake, Sara or Thomas. I'm sure you and your family will be fine. :)
