Sara can't live without tennis. She accepts everything, all defeats and sometimes still some satisfaction, without problems. Players who love being on courts and fight and feel good in this way, just this. Respect. Greetings from Rome Italy

Sara is one of those players that get a lot of undue hate because she doesn't play what most consider classic or textbook tennis. But I respect Sara, at 5'5 she figured out a way to work with what she has. Outside the hall of fame doubles career remember in singles she made the top 5 in the world and reached a grand slam final. That's better than what 80% of players will ever achieve, yes including those with great serves and that play classical tennis.
@QuietzoneWV
@QuietzoneWV Месяц назад
Not to omit - she tested positive for steroid, came up with dubious explanation, that her grandma dropped her pills in a soup, that Sara ate and was disqualified i believe for 5 or 9 months. Ironically, Wozniacki criticized Sharapova, Halep for banned substances and lost first round match to Errani.

It's just Americans who are still in the 90s and keep thinking that tennis is about big serve and forehand... meanwhile Federer, Nadal and Djokovic (and Murray and Wawrinka...) won everything in the last 25 years and none of them is about that kind of tennis. And even the younger generation... Ben Shelton losing to Musetti and Roddick (commenting on that) couldn't figure out why and thought it's just a couple of lucky passing shots... People who say that beating Sara should be easy know very little about tennis.

No. No shame for Wozniacki. Though the terrible serve, we have to recognize Errani's fighting spirit. Her career results especially on clay speaks clearly. Such a great career with such few natural tennistic qualities. You have my respect, Sara, who now are 37 years old! Ps. Respect for Caroline too, she came back at her age with a chronic disease inside! Esteem!
@moviefan4life166
@moviefan4life166 Месяц назад
Yeah it is. Errani hasn’t won anything and is ranked 100. She barely won any main draw matches this year. She’s turning 37 this week too. Caro will be disgusted with this result. It’s also another match where she blew a one set lead this year. I don’t see her continuing to play if it’s like this by the end of the year.
@YouDadu
@YouDadu Месяц назад
@@moviefan4life166 Errani has a Career Grand Slam with 5 slam titles in doubles. She is also a RG runner up and USO semifinalist in singles, she won 3 fed cups with Italy and has 9 WTA titles in singles and 29 in doubles. If this is nothing to you you'd be named Novak or Serena. Watch your movies, leave tennis alone
@moviefan4life166
@moviefan4life166 Месяц назад
Youdadu. I agree with what you said. My points as in earlier comments in this thread allude to the fact that Errani is now ranked 100, is turning 37 this week and she has barely won main draw matches this year. When she was in her prime and prior to 2017, as you say, she definitely had a fantastic career. In my opinion, based on the relevant and recent performance of Errani and the bold comments Wozniacki made saying that she can do well against this generation, it seems comical that she can’t even beat Errani who is now ranked 100 and well past her prime. Now if Errani suddenly goes on a tear and wins a lot of matches this year and improves her ranking, that would be quite the achievement mostly because of her age and form since 2016. Her ranking wasn’t been in the top 100 since then, nor has she won more than 1 or two rounds at the French open which is her best slam, in any of the individual years since. She once was formidable on clay and was solid on hard courts too.

When these small-stature, not-so-powerful players like Errani, Putintseva, etc. win matches on tour against the higher-ranked players, they are absolutely beautiful matches because the points they win are so beautifully constructed. Unfortunately for them, it is only humanly possible to muster such physically taxing efforts for about two or maybe three matches maximum in a tournament, and then they are knocked off. But I'm happy that they are on tour. Fun players to watch.

She’s a fighter but she got crushed by Haddad Maia today. Her serve is her greatest weakness and it’s not going to beat a top player. Her toss is a mess. She stopped her toss 3 times in a row against Caro at one point here. How can a player toss so wildly when there was no wind issue at all. It’s such a glaring weakness.

There’s little positive spin here. She lost to a woman who barely wins main draw matches all year who is turning 37. Caro also lost to a woman ranked 170 in the world at the Australian Open which is her best slam and best surface. Her pushy forehand can’t put a ball away to save her life. She was boastful to say she thinks she’d do very well against this generation. Back in the day her retrieving would keep her in the top 20 most of the time. Now the game is that much more powerful so it’s not working very well. She was always weak on clay and grass so in that regard this is not such a surprise. Beatrice also beat Errani easily today. How anyone can lose to Errani with her 65 mph serving…..

@moviefan4life166 Месяц назад
Patriciabazz. There no need to go wild. Let’s just see how the year end performance and rankings look in November. Woz didn’t come back to just play, she came back to win big titles and she won’t be satisfied with the results she’s had so far. I hope for her sake she has better results. Being ranked 117 after almost 9 months would disgust her more than satisfy her because she didn’t come back to be ranked outside the top 100. The rankings do reflect performance. She’s performing like a woman ranked outside the top 100 and in my opinion she won’t pick up many points on clay or grass because they are historically her weak surfaces. She will also have those 4r us open points to defend. Look it’s not easy being away for years and having two kids. Not many would even try to come back so I commend her for that.

I think Errani just loves to compete which isn’t a bad thing at this point in her life. Caro though is likely embarrassing herself with this comeback effort. She doesn’t have the offense of Clijsters who came back from being a mom at a younger age. It must be painful to her pride to be ranked 117 in the world despite having been back for almost 9 months. She is losing to players with very poor rankings like against 170th ranked opponent in the Australian open and the 51st ranked Blonkova in San Diego and both losses were on her best surface hard courts and at her best slam in the first one. Her window has long passed.

Wozniacki’s career is overrated. If Jana Fett had challenged her match point serve at the Australian Open 2018 second round (as her coach was screaming for her to do) - the serve was in on the replay - Wozniacki would never have won her only slam. She would have continued her career average at the slams of being eliminated before the second week. I guess she’s hoping for the U.S. open to give her a retirement ceremony.
