Indeed it was. And I don't why, but every time I watch and re-watch Season 12, 13 and 14 my mind goes over the moon dreaming a bond relationship between the two, because Tom and Lis were so damn adorable together they look like a couple to me. And also you see a different Tom Baker after Lis' departure of the show, almost more darker and less happy. But when Lis was there, I don't know, maybe it's just me that I pictured myself in my head, you see a different Tom with a strange look in his eyes. By the way, the video was great, but I preferred the scene between 4th/Sarah rather than 3rd/Sarah.
+TheFiendishBeatleBug Can I make a video suggestion? Have you heard the song Travelling man by Chameleon circuit? For some reason I always think of Sarah Jane singing that song to Luke as a bedtime song. Could you maybe make a video for that? That would be amazing
Sylvia Lupien I hadn't heard that song before, but now that I've looked at the lyrics, it looks pretty cute! Thanks for the suggestion - I'll see what I can do!
I ship Sarah Jane with Three and Four. Elisabeth Sladen’s chemistry with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker was amazing! You can tell she was close to both of them on and off screen. 😊
I love this video so much!! Sarah Jane can so relate to these lyrics. I feel like Sarah Jane loved the Doctor, she just never admitted it. But I don't really know bc the classic Doctor Who's are nearly impossible to find.
I agree! And yes, Classic Who episodes are pretty hard to find sometimes. Fortunately, I've had luck finding them on Dailymotion, particularly by a user called "Der_Doktor". The titles are in German, but the episodes are in English.
Yeh! Sarah-Jane just like a sister loves her brother. He "loved" her as a big bro regards his kid sister. Nothing romantic in it no matter what that Muppet Moffett tried to imply. The doctor has only 2 true loves, his wife and Susan's mother.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! It was actually intended by the person who requested it (as well as myself) to be more romantic than platonic. I personally enjoy that particular view of them, but it wasn't because of "Muppet Moffat" - in fact, he didn't write any episodes involving Sarah Jane. That credit goes mainly to Russell T. Davies, as well as Toby Whithouse and Gareth Roberts, for not only episodes of Doctor Who with the two but also episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures. A lot of other people view them that way as well mainly based off of Tom Baker and Lis Sladen's chemistry (I'm sure many feel the same regarding Lis' chemistry with the other Doctors, but it seems to be mostly predominant with those two specifically). There are even articles from the '70s and '80s in which fans questioned how deep their relationship was, and Lis talks a bit as well in her book whether or not she and Tom went too far. Now, by pointing these things out, I am in no way, shape, or form trying to tell you how you should or shouldn't view their relationship. No matter how you view it, I think we can all agree that they connected very well, worked beautifully with each other, and were definitely best friends as the Doctor specifies in The Seeds of Doom (a line, might I add, that was improvised by Tom). I just wanted to point out that, while Steven Moffat has added weird and not always favourable elements to the show, Sarah Jane and the Doctor's relationship wasn't ever influenced by his writing, and a lot of feelings fans have towards their relationship stem mainly from their adventures in the '70s. I wish you well and hope you have a wonderful week!
Lis Sladen did quip in commentary that 'There was no making out in Barry Letts's TARDIS' but that never stopped the 4/Sarah shippers. The Doctor is supposed to be paternal or fraternal towards his friends, and it's plain in every TARDIS crew from the first episode on up to 'Robot' (or 'The Time Warrior' depending on the shipper). It's there in every TARDIS crew after 'Hand of Fear' (but don't let 4/Romana shippers hear you say that). Whatever the relationship, though, don't harm the Doctor's friends or you'll find out how he got the nickname 'The Oncoming Storm.'
But not everyone can be right! My thoughts have not been contaminated by Moffatt & Co, but are as pure as the Classic Doctor was toward his companions including Sarah-Jane.
