I saw her on the Dr. Phil show. Her honesty and owning her truth was respected. Her honesty can help every parent and educator to see the signs of the children who have it all but miss the substance...Good for you-Sarah! I will read your book. By the way, kudos to your parents for standing by you.
Very inspiring! I think all the younger generation should hear her story and even purchase her book. Great story for young people Bible Study and hopefully it can be implemented at my church.
The people up here questioning her relationship with GOD are the SAME reason why ppl are afraid to come to the church and come closer to GOD bc christians can be so judgmental...Just bc her relationship is not just like yours does not mean she does not have one, we are all different and we all go down different paths, some harder than other so it does not matter how we come back as long as we know where we belong. She is talking to the ones that NEED to hear her and speak the same language if thats not for you then I am quite sure there is a preacher somewhere that floats ur boat...she is not a minister but she has a ministry bc she has experienced alot. I respect her for speaking out bc she is talking to ppl who have a hard time getting closer to GOD bc of shame, when we repent to GOD it is healing so who cares what mans says bc anyone that says they are GOD fearing would not judge but have some understanding...she is letting ppl know that the choices she made caused her life to be harder than it should have been but she is also saying that just bc you make a mistake does not mean you do not have a purpose...what we may think is a mistake may have been apart of our journey to help other ppl who have done the same...so maybe the ones questioning the good she is doing and her relationship should step back and re evaluate their own bc GOD forgives...I am a PK and just bc she has not mentioned a bible verse does not mean she does not have a relationship..I know ppl that have memorized the bible yet are some of the ugliest people u will ever meet...The bible is not about who can quote the most verses its about taking it and applying it to ur life...this is not a bible competition its called LIFE...
Dont critiques get to you hun. She is winning souls for the Lord. Based off women comments she has made a difference by telling her testimony. All we can do is tell our truth. God Bless!
Wow. This is real life stuff!!! That will help young people who are lost. I hope that one day you will be able to visit Jamaica and meet with our youths to encourage them.
I feel her sincerity. Christian or not, she's human; as we all are. Her testimony has/is/will help many young women and even men in the church. This was not my experience, but I really respect her for doing this. One thing about Christianity is redemption. We are not or will ever be perfect, but we believe in God's redeeming power. I'm glad that she seems like she's moved into a healthier mindset and marriage! I really pray she will continue to feel that love and happiness she feels now for many years to come!
I like how she owns it; my teen sisters were both pregnant at the same time, one 14 the other 15, so my parents had two teens walking around pregnant. I am so glad they did not abort. I have two lovely grown-ups now, one niece & nephew, both really awesome young people!
Its good to hear her story because when you on the outside looking in, you tend to get judgemental. Im not saying that what happen wasn't bad decisions. But you can understand clearly how she got into those places. I can say no I didnt have sex at early age and I didnt get pregnant at thirteen but I have made bad decisions that effected my life now. Some things I will be ashame to admit. But her life is public. I understand and applaud her for overcoming and being courageous to share her story and help others.
sarah i love u and ur inspirational u talk abt the body demands we need to be notified abt as church children than being spiritual and forgeting the humanity in us ,God bless u.
SJR has been intelligent from birth, goodness, you're sharing big words here for a young person. It's clear that grace was on your shoulder from the start. ❤
It's not easy being a pastor's daughter your parents view might not the same of yours. Plus, there is a lot of pressure to be a certain way and you are afraid of shaming your family. It's like how do you breathe, follow God and be true to yourself. She sounds very down to earth.
Well I think this is great and I'm glad it happened. This no mistake but a great lesson for the family and any who experience these real time issues. I'm glad G-d them all through it and taught them. I wasn't the end of their lives or the world. It's story of victory, grace and forgiveness acceptance. It exemplifies all that Christ is towards us. We loved right were are and life is hard at times and full disappointments but we all experience these things but we all must learn to overcome and allow the Lord to embrace us and carry us through it. I am going to get this book as a gift to my daughter, we love to read real stories. It's inspirational, you can hear it in her voice and the passion and fire in her father's preaching and teachings. No way she or her son or the father or any member of this family is a mistake. Thank you Sarah for sharing your experience and being brave with faith.
Ppl make mistakes in life. It's about learning from them and growing to be a better you, for the Lord. I think someone mentioned abortion. That's not of God. God is the giver of life, not a taker. That's called murder, and if there's anything that contains sin, you can rest assure that God has no dealings in it. Murder is definitely a sin. Who are we to decide whose life we can take? God gave it!!
I think most pastors spend so much time on the road speaking to others instead of making sure their home is taken care of. the enemy loves to find the head of the house not at his post. This is in so many ways wrong
Qodesh Prophecy Snr The key word you used was preaching. I am a Pk myself and the reason why a lot of pastors kids go astray is because pastors usually come off more like they are preaching to their kids than actually speaking, teaching or having a dialogue with their kids. I have a friend who I grew up with and she is now 26 and she is still a virgin because even though she was brought up by a single mom, she was able to have conversations with her mom about things that myself and other girls i knew couldn't. When her mom advised her it didn't sound like she was standing in the pulpit preaching but more like she was teaching and advising her daughter on the right things to do.
I have listened to a generous number of the Bishop sermons and I am most times filled but his talks on some of the shows like Oprah make me wonder if he wants to promote Christ or TD Jakes
Jakie Bourg I know aht you are saying is right yeah.....but I can't help wish that he could change and truly be used by the Lord in an instrumental way. Appreciate your feedback though
She decided to keep the baby and not give him away for adoption.Strong decision. She lost her teenhood. Hope the joy she has found keeps her going. But it is really shocking to hear this.
im surprised real life issues hit her the way it did. when u have money u normally dnt go thru things the same way as everyone else. it shelters u in a way from stress, bills, etc. so apart of me dnt really understnd what was the real trial for her. she has a life every young girl would dream of. i no i do. my dad use to preach and now he dont preach no mr. i like my saved father a whole lot bettr thn the unsaved one. he drinks alcohol, curses, cheats on my mom, just horrible. i figured shed be mr grateful and nt want self pitty cuz she has to answer to millions of girls.
Sin becomes a mistake not an act of rebellion against God. The life of sin is a detour? And her Father is a gospel minister. So write a book and capitalize on your Fathers fan base and turn sin into a financial benefit. There is no money in talking about sin and repentance so dress it up in euphemisms and non descriptive language and make it emotional and psychological and you have a $$$ winner. Like Father like Daughter. Just keep enough of God to sound somewhat Christian but not enough to be thoroughly Christian and the world will hear you. A smart worldly strategy indeed. That TD Jakes own Daughter does not talk like one truly redeemed will pass virtually unnoticed by the deluded masses of unsaved professing Christians.
I love her. But i think its something else is behind having sex that early. Cuz even i aint have sex at 13. My virginity was lost at 16 . had to b exposed to that or touched. Being fast. No offense. Cuz to say it was the next step that early just cuz u are preachers daughter isn't good enough in my opinion.
I am not comparing your mom to her situation but who gave you authority to say to take a life age not da main key but it is something to think about just da thought taking someone's life look in da mirror someone has given you another day to live & breathe. Just pray for someone else in the exact same situation to God for help.
There us nothing inspiring or to be celebrated by a teenaged unwed mom. this is a disgrace! Nothing Christian like about it at all. Celebrate the teens who don't become teen moms, who go onto finish school get an education and become productive citizens. Celebrating and glorifying trifling behavior like this is not sending the right message. She and that knucklehead boy who knocked her up ought to be condemed, not celebrated.
nancydrew5 Shut up. You don't know how he raised his child or what goes on in their home. You can't watch your children 24 hrs. You can only teach them the right way and pray that they will take heed.
