Divorces really suck... unless your Sara Evans who used music to get through hers! Absolutely love her... I agree with one of the comments on There's No Place That Far... y'all should definitely do that one!
I have always loved her voice. Her best song, for me, hands down, is 'No Place That Far' with Vince Gill as the background. The song and the video are beautiful and haunting. I agree, I love the message - yeah, the breakup hurts. but time passes, pain fades and life keeps going. This song came out a few years after I had a bad breakup and the first time I heard it, it made me realize how far I had come from that first months after it ended and how looking back, I could see that break up was the best thing that could have ever happened. Dude, how do you not know what 'boiling the bunny means'? That is a classic reference to the dangers of getting involved with someone you shouldn't. It's from the movie Fatal Attraction (1987) - with Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer. All give a great performance but Glenn Close really brings her A game to her role. So glad you guys are back!
Great suggestion, Jess! You are stronger every day 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Booooooo to Paul! Great reaction, guys! I love how real you are and have fun with your reactions!
Another great standing-up-for-yourself song that I’ve yet to see anyone react to is “Forgive” by singer-songwriter Rebecca Lynn Howard. She didn’t have many songs that charted but they love her at the Grand Ole Opry. She also toured with Steven Tyler when he dipped into country several years ago. Anyway… worth a listen!
My Costco can't keep it on the shelves. I've been trying to get a bottle for a while now since they switched distilleries. Kirkland brand used to be made by Dickel. They switched to Barton sometime last year.
Missed y'all! I'm really glad to see y'all do this song. It was a very healing message for my daughter when she first got out of a really bad marriage.
I lost it with the bunny boilin comment! ... I love this song. And y'all's reactions. Now y'all should react to Perfect and Always Be My Baby (both SE).
Suds in the Bucket by Sarah is a much better song. And yes, Stronger is the type of song Murder on Music Row meant. It’s like the music executives are trying to go to one world music, one move at a time.
If you want to here some good guitar picking try Travis Tritt- Long Haired Country Boy, Glen Campbell- Gentle On My Mind, Chet Atkins - Imagine (Which is one of the best guitarists of any genre.) Hank Jr- Can't You See, Jerry Reed and Vince Gill
So, what do you guys do with all this Bourbon? You can't possibly be drinking it all. If you are running out of storage and shelf space, I'd be willing to do you a favor and help you out. I'd allow you to box up a case or so and send it my direction. I have shelf space available as I'm down to my last bottle. I generally get 4 or 5 bottles from my Kids and grandchildren for Christmas. Just sayin
Then I'm not human. A guy drops me...NEXT! Life is too damn short to let somebody bring you so far down, you say oh I'm so sad but I'll get up and brush my teeth, go to work and let some song on the radio make me sad over some man who left me. His loss NEXT! 1 man leaving me brought me to my knees...he was killed by a drunk driver. I loved him. Play Smokie Moutain Memories by Larry Sparks or The Winds are blowing in Maggie Valley by The Crowe Brothers and you'll be picking me up off the floor. Any other man, pfft, you better be a DAMN good man for me to have to "get a little bit stronger" over. This might be why I'm 49 and still single but I'm holding out for the best. The song itself was written about Sara's ex husband, he loved her til she became famous, took her for almony and just destroyed her. I feel bad for her. She has a reason to have to "get a little bit stronger" he really effed her up. The bourbon....nummy root beer barrels! Soon as these surgeries are over I'm headed for Costco. Made it through surgery #2 today. I'm home resting. Next one is June first.
For more of a country sound from Sara try “Sud’s In the Bucket” She has a definite familiar country tone to her voice.. Sara has family ties close to where I live in rural Missouri.
Love you guys! I sure would love to hear you do some outlaw country. Ray Wylie Hubbard is great, you should look into Bad Trick which features Ringo. Keep it up it's fun!
