OK guys. There is a treat for your ears that you probably have never seen or heard. It is a group called Trio. They made a couple albums together and some appearances as well. They only did limited work together because they all had umm pretty fair solo careers as well. The three ladies are Dolly Parton, EmmyLou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. This particular clip is a live performance from Dolly's TV show. The song is called The Sweetest Gift (A Mother's Smile). This will leave you knowing exactly what the angels sound like. Trust me on this one guys!!! Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wWEQDyrbphE.html
Hi guys. This was written by Bob Nolan back in 1936, and originally recorded by Vaughan Monroe with The Sons of the Pioneers. The song was a story about a man traveling across an expanse of desert with his mule. It begins as a quest for water and develops as he feels more and more helpless, it becomes a metaphor in his mind. It becomes all the things in his life that he can't reach or control, and are all becoming harder to achieve with each passing hour and day. Because we each have different goals and things we strive for or long for, it really is different from each listeners perspective, and is changeable. Of course that's just my interpretation at the moment. Maybe I'm just thirsty!! Stay safe and well y'all!
My parents split up when I was a kid and for a brief period, my dad hooked up with my moms niece. If they had gotten married, she would've been my step mom/cousin. My dads half brother also got married to my moms brother-in-laws daughter, and they had a kid. So my uncle on my moms side of the family, was the grandfather of my cousin from my dads side of the family.
"And Death came for them riding a white horse." I know I got the quote wrong, but he does mention the "Old Man" riding up on a white horse in the final verse. So, I always heard this as a message to fight against death.
If you want a good Wynonna, solo, belting song, try "No One Else On Earth." If you want Wynonna when she was younger, try anything by The Judds, it was a duo with her and her mother Naomi.
Here is Billy grown up singing the same song. Still no auto tune and his voice is still incredibly. Sorry Home Free is doing background.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wgVoi3WDGcI.htmlsi=qgwsupE6FvLAUtim
One of the commenters said it has a Louisiana vibe. At one point (7:42) in the background you can hear an "Aaaaa - eeeeee". Yep! That's Cajun! When you hear that yell, you know you have a Cajun musician somewhere in the mix. And it's that Cajun beat that makes you want to move. (Watch Twist and Shout by Mary Chapin Carpenter. She mentions the band Beausoleil. And the fiddler in the video is from Beausoleil.)
You should do the country/hip hop blend songs by Florida Georgia live and Nelly or Jason derulo. You’ll attract views from both genres. They are epic songs breaking the walls of music. The 3 epic tracks are: “Cruise” remix with Nelly “Lil bit “with Nelly “This is how we roll” with Jason derulo
Yukon Jack is going to for sure taste sweet and syrupy. It is after all canadian blended whiskey and honey. I was a bourbon and Tennessee whiskey guy but I did on occasion enjoy a bit of YJ on ice. The Canadian version of it is 80 proof by the way. Not sure why. As to the song, Hank Jr. always talks about his and his dads music being blues or at least bluesy. A lot of the country old timers were influenced by blues men. The introduction they gave Hank on this recording was due to his song Lovesick Blues. A lot of the music back in the day was blues influenced to the point of including it in the song titles. jimmy Rodgers T.B. Blues is just one of many that he wrote that included blues in the title. Had to include a P.S. guys. Leaving you a link for a song by Waylon and Hank Jr. called The Conversation. It's the boys talkin' about Hank Sr. Oh and the dark haired waitress in the video is Jessi Colter who wrote a song called Storms Never Last which she and Waylon recorded. After their recording, a million others recorded it as well. She was also Waylon;s wife. Enjoy!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-csONW-zWFqs.html
This song was written by Mary Chapin Carpenter who wrote and recorded some great songs. Also Naomi Judd and Lyle Lovett sang background on this. Oh and I just found a live performance of Wynona doing this song and the 2 guitarists playing with her are both guys, and she didn't play any of the leads. At least not on that live performance.
19:22 Amazing story My granddad that I never met was a rescue pilot in Nam who received a medal of Honor my mom always hung on the wall signed by Richard Nixon. He died of cancer a few short years after coming home from Agent Orange poisoning. My mom was only 17. I can still hate the government for it, and the corrupt reasons for which they put our young men in these situations. But I can completely separate the evil Poppy Bushes, McCains, and the countless bureaucrats who take bribes from defense contractors in exchange for votes, from the brave young men and women who volunteer and risk their lives for our country. Hate the CIA and joint Chiefs, not the young men on the ground simply doing their duty.
If you look up how DAC wrote this song, it brings an entire new depth and this song went from being deep for me to being somewhat hauntingly deep. You start hearing it with a new sense of meaning.
1:54 As a kid who grew up in Seattle but has lived in 6 states and traveled to 40, IMHO The Gorge Ampitheater in George ('The Gorge in George'), WA is the single most underrated venue in the country. Based solely on the hype placed on Red Rocks, the backdrop at The Gorge blows it out of the water. Like RR, its carved into the side of a mountain out in the middle of nowhere. But the stage sits close to and sets the backdrop to the winding Columbia River in central WA. Pollstar Magazine has rated it 'Best Outdoor Music Venue' 9 different times. It sits in the Cascade Mountains, whose peak is at Mount Rainier. Seriously, google some images of it, the views are absolutely breathtaking
@stevebournite184, I’m not buying that crab Whiskey again. You can, when you come to Germany! 😂 I just hope the chocolate and beer made it up to the guys. 😅
10:05 Album came out in July 08 Unfortunately, 'mainstream' country is controlled by a bunch of empty suits in NYC. Cody Johnson did an interview where he described a meeting he had with a bigshot record exec who told him his (amazing) song 'Dear Rodeo' was "Too rodeo for country radio". And that same dips*t had never heard the name Merle freaking Haggard. The problem is that literally every radio station (but for VERY few remaining independent outliers like 95.9 The Ranch down here in DFW that plays ONLY Texas and Oklahoma ('red dirt') country music) is now owned and operated by 1 of 2 conglomerates, Clear Channel and Entercom. But as is traditional television media, radio is dying a slow death. Only a little bit slower.
Hey Keith and Dustin! Just catching up on some reactions and wine sipping on this Friday night. You just made the comment in this reaction where is the talent comparable to this, Mariah, Adelle, etc? It's not for this channel, but in your own time, go check out the youtube videos of the performances from Abi Carter who just won American Idol. This girl is phenomenal! She is a piano player and vocalist like we haven't seen in years!
I think this was a Clint song. She was doing basically backup back then. She was doing her thing, just more subtle. They both can rip at any given time. I think it was the song.
2:05 Jelly Roll was actually a gangster rapper for like 10+ years and I'm so happy for the success he's found. Its just so funny to me as a longtime fan of his rap, hearing people refer to him as a country artist with rock influences. But I'm so happy with who he's become. P.s. I suggest, if yall have time, to check out Vice's show 'Noisey' episode about Nashville from 2015. I used to watch all the episodes, they did 2 on Chicago, they did Detroit, Compton, Miami, Atlanta, Sao Paulo, I think Jamaica, Lagos and others. But the Nashville episode focused primarily on Jelly with other segments on a guy Mikel Knight, Margo Price and Kesha. But I've followed Jelly and Struggle ever since and it's crazy looking back on that episode how much he's changed
