I was a teenage boy at the time so was probably watching for different reasons 😍 but no matter why the reason you started watching it was a brilliant show to watch and I learned a lot from watching it
For the record, she was also a huge inspiration for us young guys. I learned about courage and sacrifice and honour, but because of SMG’s wonderful portrayal of Buffy, I also learned about authenticity. I love this woman.
I think a lot of men who watched Buffy learned good things. I think having women role models is important for boys. I think children should have role models from both genders, but we often don't have enough women to look up to, and I think having women to look up to changes the way you think about women. You see them as worthy of looking up to 👍
Her and Freddie being real life Daphne and Fred still is the most wholesome thing ever! Loved Buffy and Angel. Hope nothing but the best for all of em!!
I hope she truly knows that we all had a slayer awaken in us at some point because she was an inspiration. That scene when Willow cast the spell in the very last episode...or Buffys iconic "Me!" to "What is left?" Sometimes when I feel really down and helpless I remember that scenes. And it helps me to get up and keep fighting.

She’s such a light! Absolutely love me some SMG! Buffy will always be a staple in my home. I grew up with her on television and the show definitely gave me hope during some dark times in my life.
SMG seems like such a sweetheart. You can only ever hope that your favorite movie and TV icons are really speaking to you when their character speaks to you, but unfortunately I think a lot of celebrities just don't get there emotionally. Acting is frequently less of an art than it really should be, but I'm glad that SMG seems to really care because BTVS definitely spoke to so many people and she should be proud of her role in that.
Shes the nicest, most beautiful (inside and out) person ever! I wish I could meet her and thank her for everything as well. That would be so cool! She's the best! Buffy TVS and Angel are 2 of my most fav shows ever. I owe her, and the casts of Buffy and Angel so much for everything they did.

Born in 1996, grew up with buffy, rewatched it 3 years ago to remember how good it was. As a girl i say it so often that i am so gratefull to have buffy as a role model when i grew up. I could not be more grateful. And i am sorry for all the other girls who cant experience this or have a mary sue as a role model and are ridiculed for it. Buffy is a legend. Buffy is an Icon. The show was self aware and tongue and cheek but still showed the hard reallity unlike other shows. Never forget the moment when buffy had to work at a fast food store because life was trash and she needed money. Never forget the episode with the gentlemen that till this day gets me every time
The show helped me through *MANY* dark times during its run and still means the world to me as it also afforded me new friends and amazing experiences later when I did the conventions. I will never stop loving or recommending to others either for them or their own offspring.
And she has no scandals or stupid britney moments in her career too if u noticed, i wish she wasn't so underrated she seems like a genuinely good person too good for Hollyweird

I’m an 86 baby! And growing up in a hospital my whole life. Buffy gave me the courage to fight all the viruses 🦠 I viewed as monsters. To start healthy and be able to live my life together as healthy as I am now.
I watched Buffy Vampire Slayer every day I came home from high school. I used to be shy when I was younger. And this show made me feel strong and confident. Like I am today
SMG's portrayal of Buffy, on top of the amazing ensemble cast, and passionate creative team, single handedly taught a lot of powerful lessons to women and men of all ages. The show was just simply phenomenal, and growing up watching with my mom inspired a lot in me, both morally and inspired me to pursue acting and theater pretty much my entire young life.
So many of my life’s moments seem to have been manifested by this show. They will always be metaphorically and spiritually comparable at the very least.

I saw Buffy when I was isolated in a new country, just got out of a toxic relationship. Buffy means the world to me. Angel asked 'what's left?' when she loses everything and she answers, "Me." 💗 I remember the moment: sitting in a little crappy chair with chunky headphones at a tiny cyber cafe, shook. the society I saw in my life growing up, all of it had different narratives for me. That moment, I realized there were bs walls in my head, innocuously closing doors into which worlds I could belong. And those walls only meant anything if I listen to them. I could tell them to gtfo, like Buffy just did. That IS an option. Lightbulb moment. 💗💗💗💗 Ty ty ty smg all my love

That scene in the last episode with the young girl in the trailer catching a punch when she got her power. That one scene made the entire series for me.
I'm currently rewatching and realizing, Buffy is the #1 favorite show of all time for me. I watched it first when it came out. And granted, I still am not much in life. I'm alone, lost my mother, I have no kids, no job and I'm turning 39 in October... But I won't stop fighting... Until I get what I wish for. And that's partially because of Buffy....

The first time I saw Buffy, I was instantly attracted to her, even though I had no idea who she was, and every time I see her, I feel an indescribable feeling of joy, like a friend that you haven't seen in a long time, accompanied by a familiar feeling of knowing her personally, but even though I have never met her, I wish for her well and will have a friend in me if we ever cross paths.
Your work, your art, and your version of Buffy has saved so many people, given them strength and hope and inspiration, and for that we'll always be grateful. You saved lives and you'll probably never get to meet them, but please know that so many look up to you and have courage to fight because of you.

One thing I noticed about SMG is that she will always be my Buffy but like she said the story left off with whoever has the power can have the power as far as girls and women being slayers but she was a great scream queen!! Altho she died in Scream 2 and I Lnow what you did last summer her performance was second to none and even better than Jennifer love-Hewitt and she survived. Still like Hewitt tho but what if SMG got to star in a horror franchise like our fav scream queens! Woulda been 🔥 af! She proved she could in both of them movies and also in Buffy!
The single greatest feminist role model you could ever look up to, and one of the best role models overall. Every episode of Buffy dug deep into some sort of realistic issue people might be facing twisted. It would just enough supernatural presence to keep your interest, but then made it real. The story of Buffy Summers and her friends will always be one of the most noble honorable and real experiences a person could have.
I don't know how many times I have rewatched certain moments & seasons. She's always been herself and Buffy...to me. Those roles shaped how I found strength when I was so alone during many years of my adolescence. Books and Buffy were my escape from the rigors of high school for me. Helped me be a different person when I went to college, letting me open up, I felt like Willow...talking in classes, practically brown-nosing professors because I understood older intellectuals easier.
Actors (characters) inspiring fans is how we wind up with technology like cell phones and iPads. It's also why some fans are still around, like the young woman who wrote to James Doohan and gained the courage to live after he spoke to her, as well as inspiring her to garner a Master's in Engineering.
This is legit the reason the WARRIOR NUN fandom fought so hard to save the show. It gives the fans what Buffy gave to me as a 9 year old little girl who became the woman I am today. Fearless.

I love SMG too and it may sound silly but when I dont feel well or get sick I find comfort in watching Buffy reruns on DVD. I am older than she is. Her fans are all ages!
