I’ve listened to a bunch of the speeches and Silverman’s is the best so far. I love the lawn mowing story, and how she describes Dave noticing and allowing himself to get surprised by details and then sharing it with us. 👏 Nicely done Sarah!
Daniel Silk indeed. I was looking at the other winners. How did some of those clowns get the award before Chapelle? Will Farrell got one and Tina Fey got one, who are both extremely funny, but compared to Chapelle? Very few comedians are in the same league.
This is basically the only time I've ever seen Sarah seems nervous during a set. You could tell that everyone but Jon Stewart, was barely able to not get choked up/frazzled doing their bit. They reallllly wanted to impress Dave.
I don't get why so many people hate Sarah Silverman, she's funny, she has nice legs, and this isn't about her, it's about Dave Chappelle. Move on... 🙄🙄🙄... Congrats to Dave much deserved!
It's because she's wildly "progressive" and outspoken about it. It's pretty annoying tbh... Also, her voice is really grating to the ears, had to pause the video just to write this comment because it was getting on my nerves lol
Dave Chappell is the most INTENTIONALLY funny person on earth.. it takes a true master of comedy, to have every aspect of yourself comedic gold. Just thinking about what he might say or think is funny, his opinion is funny, his jokes are funny, his sadness, his anger, his complete essence is absolutely hilarious if he wants it to be. He’s like the Bruce lee of Comedy, he took the art form and completely embodied it, transformed it, and shared it as his gift and made it his every part of life. I can’t think of a single comedian, not even Pryor, who has done this, while never bending to the pressures of the world, and losing their consciousness. Dave is a comics comics comic
Not sure what they cut out but everything that I saw seemed like an amazing speech! Sarah Silverman is hilarious! I wish they would just show the whole unedited ceremony...
I love Sara Silverman. This was so clean for her, I imagine she was just itching to start talking about her female anatomy in graphic detail. Way to keep it classy for PBS Sara. 😉
I love how her vagina is literally the only subject you attribute to her entire act. Before you reply that it apparently IS all she talks about, it’s not. I’m not even gonna start listing examples, she’s made a career out of much more than just taking about her snatch. But she does mention it, so I guess it does equate to her whole career being about her vagina.
I love Silverman's subtle awkwardness. She's cute, she knows she's cute, but she's gone out of her way NOT to do the catwalk strut and all the other 'famous hot chick' nonsense. She's stayed true to herself and what she's tried to say as a comic. And here's the thing: I'm not a huge fan of her comedy. I find it very New York-centric and doesn't tap into the common experiences of all of us. But I respect and admire her effort at being authentic to who and what she is. Integrity as a performer is the very first thing to go when you get 'famous'. Somehow, she's kept that. It's something she's has in common with Chappelle.

Dave the 🐐 U actually see him interact with these people way way in the past as they start their careers. Now to see them honor him, that's true friendship right there. So cool they all made it big. I was expecting Bill Burr? He was on the show before he blew up.
