We would all be bowing down to Sarah by the end, because that was something special. Glad it popped up again to remind me how bloody fantastic a performance that was.
Yeah, I agree she is phenomenal! It’s her advantage of deep Indian grooves and her love of the “Gospel” feel of drumming. I also watched her play a straight ahead Be Bop gig years ago and was stunned by her level of understanding and playing of straight ahead Jazz. she definitely is gonna only get WAY better.
Sarah...Well never cried before I follow you have saved most all your video's this one touched me deep in my"" soulveins" music is my life you've given it the most joy being a musician myself (bassist) sure there's other's but are a "Motherload" your left side is a constant fluidity of motion the right side is like a symphony conductor moving so melodically and precise!!! In all a "GOAT" Those facial expressions complements your incredible energy #Loveya thks! Oncor 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🙏🏽❤️
Sarah, I am pretty certain that STEVE GADD is watching....AND SMILING because you're amazing and will be the most sought-after jazz percussionist in the world.
I think this would be a good lineup doing a world tour… Bassist / Davide Biale Lead guitar / Matteo mancuso Drummer /Sarah thawer Keyboards / Jesus Milona
yeah this girl makes buddy holly look easy. i remember doing acdec and learning about the complexities of indian and non western music and the way you are so effortlessly able to blend both into your playing is just so unique and special
You're an outrageously good drummer. The clinic of yours on Indian rhythms on the set blew my mind. The end of this post just floored me. Wowee. Do I get the hint that you like a very dry cymbal sound? I am reminded a bit of Terry Bozzio's cymbal choices.
Oh, and about Canadian drummers, I wonder if Rush might approach you to replace Neil Peart? Never have I seen such power, precision, talent and passion altogether, and I've been drumming for over 40 years.
There is that piano player. Anyone figure out what that is? I think it's just switching between straight time and cut time. She is not playing an odd meter. Just sounds that way.
she's not quite using a heel toe method, but more of a heel up shortened slide technique i think. I had to look very closely because it was hard to tell. I had seen a video on a foot technique similar to hers.
