Great interview. I did the 72 hour sardine challenge. I took 5 lbs off and learned about my hunger pains. If i was hungry enough to eat a sardine, then i was actually hungry. I want to do it again. Thx for the reminder.

Such a superb interview. I really enjoy (as a long time carnivore, 6.5 years) hearing tales, history, testimonies, etc, of other carnivores. We don’t have many in real life who eat even close to how we do. Do more of these!

I took Dr Lisa's class and did a sardine fast for a few days. Then I did Kelly's class and was going to but never did. I have two dozen cans of sardines so I'm starting tomorrow. I want to lose at least ten pounds by my granddaughter's wedding on June 22 so I'm going to see how long I can go!

I did a 14-day water, tea, and coffee fast. It was easy. I lost my swollen legs, ankles, and feet. But after I went back to eating regular meat, eggs, etc, the swelling came back. Do you think the sardines would clean up the problem that is causing the swelling?

Wow-- how cool!!! I wish I had watched live! I'm a Daytona native;Palm Coast resident. I'm Carnivore since August 9,2022. Great results: weight loss, better health, better sleep. Went off for a 4-day period in a 3-week vacation; gained back TEN POUNDS!!!!!!! Back on it strict since 5-20. Courtney, I love your channel!!!

Hi all this is Greg from the interview. I've read the comments and I see a lot of curiosity regarding how much to eat. Sardines aren't a silver bullet weight loss tool, any more than ozempic shots, belly bands, and other approaches. Sardines are just a very satisfying and healthy food to consume as you get your glucose numbers down and enter the ketosis arena. You cannot eat a single can of sardines and expect to lose a pound. The point is to eat sardines as the means to cure your appetite, and at the same time introduce a healthy animal fat and protein full of nutrients into your body. You can also eat the same caloric content in ANY food, from a donut to kale. But I dare say anything outside of sardines will give you the nutritional benefit to satiety ratio of 4.4oz of this canned fish. Eat to satiety. If that means 2 cans for you, then so be it. I personally struggled with being able to finish a single can because I was full before the end of it. All results will vary among all of you. Best wishes!

I love sardines heated, cooked in butter~yum! but that being said I guage my hunger by if I am hungry enough to eat cold sardines or cold, hard boiled eggs

It was a great video, thanks so much your guest broke it down very well to understand how this would help if you're on a stalling carnivore. I experienced a lot of indigestion and just not feeling well, I knew it would take time for healing, but I feel this way of doing is going to be a lot cleaner and help me get to the goals of release in the inflammation and water retention, so I can lose 100 lb that I need to in been stuck..🙏🏽💜 And I live in an RV too, so I feel connected with all of this, living in an RV gives me the peace to know that I can do this sardine challenge I'm with you for 30 days, and then we'll see how long I can go! 🙏🏽💜😍🫶🏽👍🏽💪🏽

I am very interested in trying your extended sardine fast. After losing 80lbs I’ve been stuck in the middle for over a year 30 lbs from my goal weight. You said you are eating 509 calories a day but I also thought you said you ate 1 can of sardines a day. Could you clarify? My sardines are packed in water and are only 110 calories. TY 👍👍👍

I stumbled onto your video this morning. I bought sardines a while back, but haven’t been brave enough to eat them. This will be a challenge for me because I am stuck in the middle and only have 10 #’s to get to my first goal wight of 150. By the way, great video!

Thanks for watching! Curious what brand of sardines you have? I didn’t realize all brands could be different. I had cases of wild planet and those are the only ones I’ve tried so I thought all sardines were fishy. I tried King Oscars last night and they were actually good! Even more mild than tuna

I naturally stumbled into the carnivore diet because I was tired of feeling terrible. Despite trying low-carb and keto foods, I was always hungry and constantly thinking about food. After discovering Mind Pump, I learned to eat 1 gram of protein per pound of ideal weight, and keeps the carbs as low as possible if you want to slim down and keep muscle. You should not be eating processed food what so ever, but protein shakes/bars can be helpful tools. So I aimed for 130g. Initially, I relied on protein shakes and keto snacks, but they were expensive and led to cravings and binges. I noticed its really hard to get 130g of protein while eating these things and stay within your calorie/carb limit. Tracking everything was hard (Because I was trying to eat in moderation like everyone says), and even with weight lifting, I fluctuated in weight, felt tired, sore, hungry, and had headaches almost daily. I also tried the 80/20 method. Sunday - Friday I ate clean, Saturday we ordered whatever we were craving for dinner. I would do my absolute best in the gym, beat PR's and lose 6-8 lbs. By Monday they were all back, my periods were painful, and I felt ravenous. After being suck in that loop for 5 months, only losing about 8lbs and gaining inches in my mid section, I had a light bulb moment. I'm working out and in a 800 calorie deficit. It has to be the food. I had done keto in the past before all these Keto snacks came out. I was living off of chicken thighs, roasts, salmon, the fat from the meats/olive oil, cheese, coffee and spinach (I've never really liked veggies) I lost soooo much weight and fast. The only reason I gained it back was because I thought "Yay, I'm finally slim!" I can drink and eat with my friends, all I have to do is workout. SIKE. One day, we had nothing but eggs. So I cooked 4 with cheese and leftover carnitas. I was full ALL DAY. Out of curiosity I tracked and noticed that I met more than half of my protein goal in that one meal with calories left over. Within a week, I lost 8lbs of water weight, slept better, and was headache-free. I discovered Dr. Berry and Steak and Butter Gal (they are now my parents lol) and was sold on the carnivore diet. I have eliminated headaches, cravings, acne, food obsession, bloating, and period pain. I've saved money too with the same job/pay. My partner, who is about 80% carnivore, lost weight simply by being supportive and eating steak lol. I guess he saw how good I was looking, and understood the assignment. I still have 20 pounds I'd like to lose. After going down multiple RU-vid rabbit holes I'm more concerned about getting the extra fat off my tummy for health reasons, but I also want to look, feel, and be my best. I'm not old, but I'm also not trying to waste any more time. The carnivore diet has significantly improved my life, and I no longer feel pressured to eat or drink if I don't want to. Even if the scale doesn't move sometimes the fact that I can fit into a small, and still have my chest and booty is CRAZY. The first time I tried keto, my chest basically disappeared. I may try the sardines, but if I can't stand them I'm going to try the hamburger patty method that Kelly mentions. She doesn't really call it that, but whenever anyone askes how she lost her weight she recalls going to Mc Donald's and getting 4 burger patties, sometimes with cheese/bacon about twice a day. I tried it about a month ago with Costco 100% beef patties and lost 5lbs. When I start my period I usually crave fish, butter and cheese. I also missed my steak, so next time I reach a plateau I'll definitely give that a go again. Peace and love to whoever is reading this.

I want to know what a sardine fast looks like. Such as how many cans a day or even how many cans in a meal or how many meals a day can someone tell me what that may look like? I don’t care for sardines but if I have the “ prescription” I can follow that…give or take a sardine. 😄

I only caution you to drink at least 150oz of water per day as you do this. I am currently suffering a kidney stone after consuming about 60oz of sardines over~13 days. Never had one in my life. All we can believe is I've managed to break one loose that was slowly dissolving in my kidneys? If I had it to do all over again, I may have stuck with 3 days of eating them, then transitioned back to low calorie beef and egg intake. Personally I had 1 4.4oz can per day. The satiety wouldn't allow me to eat more. I simply didn't need it.

@@thervcarnivore wow that doesn’t seem like very much and that’s what my concern was. I do have a tendency to under eat. I understand that I can eat sardines if I’m truly hungry and they’re OK but I definitely know that I cannot overheat them and I was concerned that even three cans a day wouldn’t be enough. Yes, I’m drinking plenty of water or at least trying to. Thanks!

Yes, one per day. And she gave me personal advice, so what is good for you or others doesn't apply. A 3 day challenge is just that. I had a greater and short term necessary goal which I explained in the video interview.

I just can't with the sardines! I bought six cans back about a year ago when I first heard about the sardine fast and just can't! Do you have any tips? I bought the ones Dr. Berry recommended. Any recommendations on how I can get them down???!!!

You can greatly elevate the palatability by air frying them crispy. Add butter, garlic powder and a bit of vinegar for a salt and vinegar flavor. Sardine fasts help tremendously with weight loss, but nutritionally, they are hard to beat.

I mix them up with a little bacon mayo and spread it on a slice of PSMF egg white bread. Sprinkle a little hotsauce on top.

This may be a dumb question but instead of restricting your foods further, have either of you tried treating the reasons you turn to food in the first place? Im in the same boat and can still emotionally eat on carnivore but i can eat certain carnivore foods in moderation when im mentally and emotionally in the right place. So i dont think its just about the foods.

I'm not restricting foods. I'm restricting calories, as more in than out will not create a weight loss scenario. I chose sardines because of their satiety value. Since stopping eating them and transitioning to 4oz of ground beef and 3 eggs per day to stay under my daily caloric intake, I assure you that my body was totally satiated from the sardines, but most definitely not from the eggs and GB. Emotions don't drive my food intake. My short term goal does.
