what a great day out Alistair...beautiful winter colours on the fells at this time of year...i remember the summit of High raise being overrun by hundreds of wasps when i visited

Cor, what a fabulous day that was. The views from High Raise looked incredible. I’ve only been there once and I could hardly stand up it was so windy. Glad you are managing some higher fells now👌 Well done Alastair, thanks for your time doing the vids. 🙏🙏🙏

It was a great day, High Raise is very central so has good views in all directions. There was a stiff breeze, it made it very cold. My fitness is coming along nicely, just have to wait for the op and then hopefully I'll be able to drive again. The Winter Bus Timetable is a bit limiting... but I've got a couple of "new" hills on my radar 🤔 I've been out every day this last week filming... but had sound issues so I'll have to make return trips on those 😲 Thanks for watching, commenting and for your kind words. It was a superb day...cold tho, I was treated to some great views. Interesting about the length of the video, I generally try and keep them about 10mins but I just had to much to squeeze in! I did these November 2021 on a glorious day, so warm I was down to a T Shirt and shorts, enjoyed myself so much I realised on High Raise summit if I took the same time to get back as it took me to get there I would be at the car at 18.30 and it got dark at 16.30 😖. I went up via Blea Rig as I remember not liking your route up but due to time was forced to come down that way, which was a mare as the rock was streaming with water all the way down😠. Apart from the cold wind it was a cracking day, brilliant views and I love the 360 from High Raise. Looks like you came down the way I went up, which was such a good option and that was a fantastic days walking Alistair, cheers Alan

Yes, a great day Alan. It seems from the comments I've had that quite a few folks don't like my route of ascent!🤔😂 I've always enjoyed that way round, even tho'it was a bit icy on this occasion! Hard Winter indeed. Maybe for once that Old Wives Tale is correct! Its certainly been a spectacularly hard one so far! Lovely views over Easedale Tarn. Bells Knott, I love Wainwrights description of it. Dollywagon Pike, still tickles me! Not get there stood here talking then proceeds to walk even further away from his down hill camera, love it ❤ love the frost up there, nice and crunchy. High Raise what a beauty, id say its near impossible to beat the views from up there given its very central position. Wow that wind really picked up on that descent! Hope you got warm on the bus! ❤ 🚎

I always enjoy the Easedale Tarn route up towards the High Raise area. It's not very efficient from a peak bagging point of view but has "big country" feel to it! The views are great because it's so central. Walking back for the camera on its tripod 🤔... I often think I'm climbing these hills twice!🤣🤣. I've tried whistling for it but no luck!🤣🤣 The bus was lovely and warm, that's not been the case this last week tho' there's been a couple of freezers 🥶 it's been -11.8 at home one morning 🥶🥶 Thanks for watching and commenting. Now that would be something, a camera that would come back to you when you call it? I like the sound of that. I can see a Dragons Den moment already! I was lucky with the weather that day for sure 😊 It has some great views... it's so central. It's a bit further than going up from Langdale, I've done High Raise from every direction I can think of, this is one I particularly like.
