I was supposed to go on the fall 2020 voyage but I’m probably going to change it to the spring 2021 voyage since the voyage is shorter and also because I really want to go to Asia.
do you think the spring 2021 voyage is going to change significantly? It is supposed to embark in Tokyo and logistically with the fall 2020 voyage disembarking in Costa Rica, I think that it is very possible that at least the embarkation port for the spring 2021 voyage could change.
That's very hard to say right now. I think by the Spring, the world will have mostly gone back to normal, but that's just an uninformed guess. My bet would be that the voyage will go with some changes, but nothing to significant. A country or two might be changed, but nothing seriously impactful.
I was going to apply for spring 21 but now I’m considering going in fall 2020. I don’t really like being away from home for too long so I much rather be home for 50 days but idk.
If that works for you then that's great! Sounds like a good reason to choose the Fall voyage! Also, still consider the spring though as a way to push yourself beyond your comfort zone. Maybe you could have some of your family or friends from home meet you in a country halfway through the voyage.
So it really just depends on when you apply and how many other people apply at the same time. I imagine right now the responses are a little slower, but if you haven't heard back within 7 business days then I would just send them a nice email just asking for updates.
I was supposed to go on the fall 2020 voyage, but I think I’m going to switch to spring. Although, my advisor told me that sas is changing the itinerary for the spring 2021 voyage as well! So everything is still up in the air! Ahhh
