My Dad was in the SAS he never ever told me and I didn’t find out until after he died and ex squadron people turned up to his funeral. He was in Malaya. In the garage in a box he had all of his stuff. Sand coloured beret and photographs of people he served with. There was a note for me. It said… Dear son guess you have found out there is a little bit more about me. But that’s ok. You are my hero and I saw how much you struggled for the first 18 months as a baby. I decided to focus everything on you.

I dont agree. Most people here are liars. Notice how many "ex sf" people are here.... i dont care if your thai SF Canadian americam etc. They will all claim to be the best. Why? Because they are alpha males. 2nd. No one has made a logical argument. I personally wouldn't rank sas as #1. Just because they were the first "commando" unit in ww2, doesnt make them the absolute best today. Another point, sas/delta/ Sayeret Matkal/ seals/ green berets/etc all have different roles. When it comes to killing my vote is with seals/Sayeret Matkal. Training local units. Sas/green berets. Keel in mind sas has to rely heavily on american electronic warfare, as well as aircraft. The budget for american spec ops is by far larger than all other SF in the world combined. I mean u and I cant imagine what they have now. Back during operation enduring freedom footage was captured of invisible camo. When osama bin laden was killed, we learned about fully stealth helicopters. Turns out the stealth helos has been operational since mid 90s. Oh and when it comes to assinations and killing on other countries territory thats hands down the Israelis and their mossad/Sayeret Matkal.

My own great grandads family thought he was a paratrooper until about 3 years after he died when they finally received his medals, which was well after the war ended. Reason they though paratrooper was because he was captured way behind enemy lines and was sent to a POW camp where he got an ear infection and had an improvised surgery to save his life, but meant he was deaf in one ear. He died of cancer, years after the war, and never once did his family get even an inkling he was SAS. Which is some A tier secret keeping.

Seal team 6), also you don’t realize we also have Delta and SAD/SOG, the United States has several teams separate teams. Each specializing in specific operations. And if you haven’t realized yet the United States make an insane effort to be the best in every category when it comes to military. Planes (f22) tanks, weapons, tech, intelligence, ect. The United States also has a more broad landscape and more diverse terrain to train on. So I think the US being that the budget for their teams is probably higher and the intelligence they get is better. It’s hard to believe that the SAS is better than all of our teir 1 units for that reason

Well, not being an expert, or an ex operator ..... 1. The Brit SAS are the originals. 2. Delta was set up with SAS help and modelled on them. 3. Delta and Seals are top tier too, with ALL the gear. 4. USMC have MarSoc now. Prob v good. 4. Scandinavia and Germany and maybe France have top tier one SF too. 5. Brit SAS are acknowledged as The Best.

USMC vet, Iraq. Had many interactions with them, the long hair, relaxed nature. We would see them go out with our SF, at night. They would return ,no hollering, high fives bullshit and we would ask our guys about the night previous, what and where these SAS guys like. Answer, totally fucking fearless, all 100% confidence in each other, backed themselves to get out of any shitstorm, completely unorthodox and I love our guys, but they said there is nothing like these SAS, my buddy is a SEAL.said he would prefer 2 SAS to help him than 6 of any other SF. We need to learn more, be clandestine, stop.dropping from airplanes ✈️ at ball games, SAS would never do that, I dont blame our guys, it us those in power who dramatize our SF, to recruit, but if you wish to join SF bad enough, you will, as it is a state of mind, but it is extremely rare. @@Ash_Hudson I've meet them once in Afganistan, when we got into a discussion about training one of them said that there is no such thing as overtraining and it is an invention created by sports nutrition companies and this is just one of hundreds of nonsense they told and that was only during one conversation, maybe I came across the wrong people in the wrong place but it does not make a good impression on the unit, especially the special forces

Marine vet, there really isn't a "better" special forces. My personal opinion is that they all excel.. they all excel in specific fields and tactics but you can't really pin them in a category because they are all above and beyond. If you've ever worked or trained with these guys you'll see it in the way they work. The SAS are OGs and have set the standard since the beginning and Seals, GB, USF, DTA, COS, CSOR, KSK, FSK have all been learning from eachother and improving their own skills so it's a growing field with a plethora of skill sets. They all have my respect

Dead on. Hrs biased. And I understand. Are they in the conversation? For sure. But there's so many elite units. The British military is a fraction of the size of a lot of militaries. The US alone has multiple SF that are in that convo. Polish. South Korea. France. Germany. Norway. Sweden. Finland. Russia. Ukraine now. Which were trained by US and British Special Forces. And other western SOF units.

Um....that is only your opinion. They are in fact good at what they do, but so are the SEALS, the Green Berets, DELTA force, Israeli Mossad, and even the Korean Reconnaissance Unit. I would pit the Israeli Mossad and American DELTA against SAS. The issue is each of these organizations conduct vastly different missions, so there is no apples and oranges way to compare them, other than in combat. The issue is, outside of the US and Britain, most countries' special forces teams only operate within their own sphere of influence, or even within their own borders.
@szziy

@@TheMustardSeedChurch It's funny when you pick zionist mossad as top 2🤣 but it's also just your opinion ahhaa. My serious question is are you really that smart to think that they can survive jungle warfare? You cannot comparing those special forces from tropical countries to them, never bcus they are pro on their own places. They can do anything right? lol you should mention Spetsnaz too
@TheMustardSeedChurch
@TheMustardSeedChurch 9 месяцев назад
@@szziywhile technically Mossad is not a military organization, their training was actually initialy developed and implemented by the US Special Forces in the early 1960s, which is what helped them win both the Six-Day war in 1967 and the Yom Kippur War in 1973. And while they don't train for jungle warfare, the vast majority of wars don't take place in jungles. My uncle was actually an "advisor" in the 60s to the Mossad before being killed in Vietnam. And to be truthful, when you talk about Special Forces from tropical countries, the vast majority of them can be overcome by any standard army...the few exceptions being the Thai Special Forces and the Indian Grand Commandos. So while you may think it is my opinion, it is based on fact both having interacted personally with them and also reviewing records.

@@bentfissionit was a bit different from that in 1812. The US attacked first and the british never really wanted more land (probably because they didnt even have time to think about getting more). Both sides lost key battles so a peacr treaty was signed and a clear border determined. A war the british never wanted ended and if it werent for napolean the US probably would have lost pretty quick.

Maybe they were once, maybe in the last century., But today there are so many special units in every country that it is hard to say,the teren(field) where you practice makes you the strongest (toughest) English have a lot of rain, altitude and cold... but the Italians have that too, Germans, Croats, Swedes..etc.. nowadays war is fought with a red button🛑 much more than hand-to-hand fighting, and the strongest soldiers are those who have recently been in a war,. I am Croatian and I think that we have an army that could fight with any in the world.❤🇭🇷❤ ✌️🫰 ..

In afghanistan, there was one unit that never got dehydrated. They were from Norway (marinejegere). From the stories I have heard, they are extremely tough ones. The SAS are the oldest ones in the world...but the best at what? Green berets are specialized to gather inteligence behind enemy lines. Navy seals have 3 specialized operative fields. There is so many different types of special forces out there. They are all pretty good, but none are the best.
