33:13-33:16 "However, only promoted tables remain in memory after the sessions are completed." Is this a mistake or is this true? Thanks! It would make sense to me that the tables are cleared from in memory storage but remain on the CAS server disk space. Thanks!
Thanks for your patience. This was and is still true. Promoted tables must reside in GLOBAL-scoped caslibs, and they remain loaded even when the session that loaded them is disconnected. Tables that are not promoted can reside in any scope of caslib, and have only session scope. They are only accessible from the session that loaded them, and are automatically unloaded as soon as the session is terminated. Any items in off-line storage in a caslib are not affected by the presence or absence of the in-memory table (copy). If your experience with your tables in your SAS Viya installation seems at odds with the statement in the video, your best resource for help would be to open a case with SAS Technical Support. 2.sas.com/6054ostBp We hope this helps!
Hi! Thanks for your patience while we check on this! We do have a free Administration tutorial page that you can find here: 2.sas.com/6050yUGI6 . Some of these videos may also be on the SAS Channel on RU-vid. You can review of all our Administration training classes here: 2.sas.com/6051yUGIB . We do have a free "Getting Started" with Platform Administration class that might be of interest to you. However, to some extent, the class you take or the free video you watch will depend on which platform you need to administer -- whether it is the SAS Business Intelligence Platform without SAS Viya or SAS Visual Analytics or whether it is the SAS Platform with Viya and Visual Analytics. Hope that information helps!
@@SASUsers Thank you for the info. We have a Viya installation at work. I was just curious if the demo1.sas and demo2.sas used in the first half of this presentation could be downloaded somewhere.
