It takes me a along time to make this video because I have to redo everything 😅 and I only have small amount of time due to the office work been so hectic this week.
In this tutorial, I still use muslin fabric with regular sewing thread.

*of course, you can get creative with the size, adjusting them to your personal taste and the available materials. No string attached.
Note:
I actually don't really know the name of the pattern 😅, I've tried to google it up, reading my sashiko book, getting into Pinterest, and asking my expert Japanese friend (but she won't answer my message 😁), so if you guys know what is the name of this pattern exactly please let me know in the comment section below. It would be helpful for all of us and I really appreciate it.

Do I need to wash the fabric before draw the pattern and saw?

Of course, you can wash and iron it first before trace/draw you pattern on it. and after the stitching process done, you'll need to wash and iron it again to erase the pattern and make the fabric look more neat.🥰

Yes, of course!! That thought has been in my mind for few months now. Will do, surely! but I don't sew clothes, I'll put it in a smaller "sewing-things". I hope you don't mind.

Yes, it is..a regular sewing threads. but of course, you can use other kind of threads, such as embroidery threads. I only use this because I like how thin it is. I like my sashiko thin and small (on a budget) xixi..thank you for stopping by to my channel.

beautiful! My question is, is it possible that with lots of practice the grid becomes unnecessary? And how would this pattern work on dark denim jeans, for instance?

Hello Paul, thank you for visiting my channel. I think it's possible if you don't use the grid and directly draw onto the fabric, you'll need to draw the pattern though. Using the pattern on dark denim jeans? well, its Boro style, I think it'll look very cool to use this pattern on denim. Please use thicker and lighter color of the thread, especially if you plan to use a dark denim. Thank you for comment.
