August 25, 2019: HEY GUYS, Jane here (SassE's sister). I found this video marked as PRIVATE in SassE's video vault. I have made it public again because SassE died of pancreatic cancer on April 10, 2019. In this video (over 2 years old) she discusses the symptoms she was having. At the time, she saw a Western Medicine doctor because she had felt a tumor in her stomach. The doctor brushed it off as a "lump" and told her, "That's just your sternum." Out of desperation for relief, SassE sought advice from alternative healers. I'm sharing this with you so that if you or someone you love is having these symptoms, you will insist on a CT Scan with Oral/IV Contrast to rule out pancreatic cancer. Had she been given this test 2-3 years earlier, she may still be with us.

So sad to know that SassE saw so many health professionals and none of them recommended testing for pancreatic cancer. The holistic medicine person especially seems to have given misguided information. It’s clear here that she was really suffering. Rest In Peace SassE!

What kind of doctor doesn't advise any investigation after the patient has clearly told them that they felt a lump.. I'am a junior resident ( fresh out of med school) and still know that if a pt says that they felt a lump, u got to advise investigations because lumps can be best described by the pt themselves because they have been living with it, we as practitioners can miss them sometimes hence the investigations..this is a case of pure negligence and extremely heartbreaking...i recently discovered this channel and i so wish i had seen this video 2 yrs back so i could leave a comment suggesting an USG atleast.. All her symptoms suggest of pancreatic pathology - tenderness , reflux etc ...uhh this is deeply saddening, i wish i could help.. RIP sassE

Sakshi Singh hej, i‘m one of these patients. I‘ve been in the ER so many times since february this year. I suffer from massive pain in the left corner of my belly, i lost weight, i feel sick all the time, i need pain medication every day. They sent me to gynaecologist since i‘m a young female and it‘s „normal“ for us to have massive cramps. 2 weeks ago i started to bleed from my rectum. They finally did a rectoscopy and found 6 tumors. I have colon cancer. I don‘t know how much they‘ll have to remove, if i‘ll need chemo or anything. I only know that if they‘d listened to me earlier they could have stopped it. So its not that uncommon. Please never stop listening and questioning every diagnosis another doc made before you! We need medicals to listen carefully. Thank you ❤️

@@bettafishes913 thank you so much for asking. I just finished chemotherapy, it was a fight. Never imagined it being so horrifying. I went through surgery shortly after i made this post, that went well. I‘m still in pain, i’m pretty sure i‘m traumatized by this experience, now its all about putting the pieces back together and regaining strength and energy and love for life. Thank you again! ❤️

I still watch her videos every night after all these years and it angers me the fact that she has been mentioning her symptoms and all these “medical professionals” just ignoring the signs. I honestly wish they could get their licenses removed, I want them to know what their negligence and lack of knowledge caused. I would sue them if I’m being honest. I’m so sorry sass, they failed you, you are no longer in pain and in a happier place. 💝

You are correct. They failed us all. When she told me she felt a tumor in early 2017, I was scared out of my mind. The doctor told her it was her sternum and sent her home. That is the one I'm going after. How can anyone tell you they felt a tumor and you NOT do a test???? Thank you for your comment.

Poor woman. She has blessed us with so many relaxing videos, yet she passed away so unfairly. I’m so sad this happened to her and I hope people get diagnosed sooner for these kinds of illnesses, just to imagine her passing could have been avoided if she was diagnosed correctly breaks mr heart. I got so exited seeing this because I’ve watched sasse for 5 years now and I’ve always gotten super exited when she posted because she’s the only ASMRist that helps calm my nerves and anxiety and helps me go to sleep. I watched her and still do when I do my makeup in the mornings and right before school or late at night when my insomnia kicks in. Listening her talking about the holistic doctor's advice about "the valve is now closed" and the tomato "pulse" being a sign of her body not tolerating it. It makes me angry that any holistic "doctor" is giving medical "advice" about health that has nothing to do with real science. Holding a tomato and checking pulse cannot tell you anything except if someone has some contact allergic reaction or MAYBE that certain food aversions give the person anxiety. The lesson I have learned from many videos is that if you feel sick and your doctor refuses to test you and brushes it off then find another doctor to give a second opinion but not a holistic medicine "doctor".

I've seen a lot of comments saying the audio is too low, which I do agree with but I also want to say I think the audio is PERFECT everywhere else. no white noise even though I had to turn it up to max volume. no pops or ait hisses. no harsh sounds on the mic from your whispers or movements. very nice work, I wish I could put that kinda quality work out!!

Loved the cereal crunching!! Crunching is always my favorite sound! I've had digestive issues for the past year or so and experimented with omitting some foods while adding others to try to balance out my body since I was on antibiotics for an extended period of time. Antibiotics kill the bad along with the good bacteria in our gut. The only thing that has helped is eating kimchi almost every day. It has made me feel SO good - no more burning or bloated feeling in my stomach. I also increased eating yogurt with active cultures. Taking a pill for probiotics is ok, but there again its an artificial thing in "pill" form just like the vitamins - actually eating food with it in works better and faster. Hope you are feeling better soon!!

I think I'm the only who thinks that the audio is not loud enough. It's just too quiet (actually quieter than your other videos). Make sure you edit the audio a little bit or maybe put the mic closer.

I did not know SassEsnacks, I stumbled across her videos a month ago when I had trouble sleeping. I suffer from ulcerative colitis and am more susceptible to pc as well, I get a colonoscopy every year to check and make sure. Unfortunately I lost a family member to this terrible disease as welI . Yay so glad your back! Mic sounds great!! I'm watching this before work - not a good idea. I'm tired now Lol!! I have a lot of digestive problems too. It's hard :( I also went to a naturopath. It came down to A LOT of stuff I can not eat. More than I can manage. So I haven't been taking it seriously and boy do I feel horrible. This video reminded me to stop messing around and follow what my naturopath said :) were in this together ❤️

Hey, Ms. Snacks, speaking as a long term fan of what you do (from the old lady days) and a boring old scientifically trained medical doctor working in a system where profit is not a motive I do (unsurprisingly) have significant concerns about your naturopath's approach but as I often say to my patients, hey I dont care how you get better so long as you do get better and are not harmed or bankrupted in the process. So best wishes. It did occur to me that your kidney stone remedy is a bit tricky now if you cant take citrus..... The only reason Im posting is to remind you to take your own stated advice in the description. If your reflux type symptoms dont completely settle, especially if you continue to lose weight and you are not trying to lose it, please attend your primary care doc or gastroenterologist for a check up. Not to be prescribed meds but because you may need some basic investigations. There's no reason why you cant still take your naturopaths advice as well. Forgive me if this comes over as patronising. I dont mean it to. Im just being selfish. I value your channel and want you fighting fit to carry on making even more entertaining (and in my opinion therapeutic) content.

Thank you. I actually have been to the M.D. and am on medication since the situation is too acute. I'm still changing the diet (also recommended by M.D.) and drinking a lot more water. Problem is, I don't want to take the meds forever, so I hope this heals soon and I can get off them for good. I will stick to the recommended diet forever if it means I can get off the meds.

Jim Farrell Hi Jim. I reposted this video recently. I’m looking at the old comments and I came upon yours. Thank you for caring and for acknowledging that the reflux and weight loss can be serious problems. YOU are correct. SassE passed away from pancreatic cancer. She DID see her PCP and complained of all of these symptoms and no further tests were done until November 2018 when she was diagnosed with PC, Mets to liver. She died 5 months later. I wish she had seen a doctor like you earlier. She may have had a chance. Thank you for caring.

My last doctor said the best way to prevent them is to drink 64 oz of water a day, 365 days a year. If you exercise for 15 min, he said at another 8 oz on top of that. :|.

Dear SassEsnacks, First of all. Thank you so much for helping me sleep, every single night. You are the only ASMR youtube trigger for me. Natural and funny - I love it! I'm so sorry to hear that you are having digestive issues. :( Here in Denmark the Low Fodmap Diet is commonly used if you have digestive problems. I don't know if it is used "over there" (in the states) ;) A lot of people have succesfully recovered using this diet. Maybe it is something for you? I love the new mic!! It is not only torture for you, having digestive issues. But also for your subscribers. I personally can't wait to watch and listen to a new video with the new mic. :) May you feel better very soon. Louise Andreas Reimer Konradsen Yes, that diet is becoming popular here, but some foods that can be sensitive to some people are still on it, like citrus, eggs, grains, nuts and nightshade vegetables. So I am doing a more extreme elimination diet now, more extreme than low FODMAP for three weeks till I have no symptoms and then I will reintroduce each food one by one. okay let me get this straight lol the ileocecal valve is not actually a valve or like a door that opens and closes. It's a sphincter just like the anus. It can constrict and open slightly but it is always open. The place where the ileum (small intestine) empties into the cecum (large intestine). It is always open because the your body is always digesting and needs a passageway there as fecal matter is produced. It is NOT a doorway and doesn't "snap shut" or anything like that.

Well, I felt something move. I didn't imagine it. And all my nasty burping is gone, so whatever she with my stomach, I'm glad she did it. Perhaps it's only the diet change. Either way, nothing she did hurt like those purple pills eventually would.

SassEsnacks I don't doubt something moved I'm just letting you know it definitely wasn't the ileocecal valve haha. Honestly I'm all for natural remedies and I love your videos so I'm glad you're feeling better, but that doctor either didn't explain the procedure to you correctly or she didn't know what she was talking about. I'm going to UC Davis for premedical studies so I know that what I'm saying is correct. But I also totally agree with you about medications being not great for you, I always try to fix things naturally before taking more drastic measures. But also it's good to know the correct anatomy/physiology of the body and I just want to warn you this doctor may not know everything if she told you the valve works like that

I didn’t realize when I reposted this that she complained of acid reflux. SassE passed away from pancreatic cancer on April 10, 2019. So much for the doctors getting to the root of the problem.

My mum died with same symptoms going undiagnosed for a year and a half. Trested for constipation or anxiety and made to feel as though she were a hypochondriac. Finally a doctor listened and she had pancreatic cancer and it had spread to her liver she lived less than five months from her diagnosis and died 12th march 2019. They say the best chance for cancer is early detection yet its always last thing they look for. Makes me so mad. I myself have some of these symptoms and feel a lump under my rib. Fortunatley tho for me my mym didnt die in vain at least so they're testing me for it early as pancreactic cancer is hereditory. But doesnt change the fact they failed my mum and your beautiful sister. Sending love to you xx

I did my own videos for under a year and had to stop bc the food I was eating was making me physically sick and mentally unhappy. Your videos are great no matter what you decide to do!

I remember watching this at the time and being so concerned and upset that the naturopath’s advice was so misleading. Pancreatic cancer is so hard to detect and it’s heartbreaking that sasse’s was caught so late.
