Sasuke is the WORST Character in Anime? 

Sasuke summoning manda, alone when he stated he was close to out of chakra, was implausible, but the fact that he also reverse summoned the both of them since suigetsu had to summon manda and you can only do so from their realm, is flat out impossible. That was the truest of true plot armor

Attacking the five Kage is actually doubly silly because after losing to Bee repeatedly, Sasuke is like "Imma take on the guy whose job is to KEEP BEE RESTRAINED... PLUS FRIENDS"

Sasuke also wanted to be the "Shadow Kage", kage already means shadow, so that means he wanted to be shadow shadow. 😂

My thing with Sasuke is how they just boost his power when need be with little to no explanation. He gets as fast as rock Lee in like a month, he gets put in the coffin in the sasuke retrieval arc just so he can reasonably compete with Naruto, his string of fights in shippuden is a mess because he barely wins or loses then runs right to next person somehow stronger like he’s a saiyan. At least we see Naruto train between encounters so it doesn’t feel contrived that he’s stronger. Sasuke he’s sharingan just evolves and he’s just ready to go despite never using the new ability before. Then to me I just find him the least interesting part of his own storylines he’s carried by Itachi, Orochimaru, Obito, and Naruto. The best part about him is his fight scenes.

I actually liked the way Sasuke's character grew, he was constantly being manipulated by people; Itachi, Obito, orochimaru. He did a 180 cause he realized he basically contributed to killing his brother who was just trying to protect him. He had every right to go after Danzo and I was right there cheering Sasuke on cause I subscribe to the quote "fuck Danzo". Someone needed to kill Danzo for what he did to Itachi, Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko. Everything after was because of Obitos influence on him, Obito liked edging Sasuke on with dirty dark secrets of the leaf... And after all the shit Sasuke did to his village, his friends and allies I dont blame him for putting a punishment on himself cause even Sasuke agrees that he shouldn't just go free from what he did

I used to despise Sasuke as well. But over time I realized how real his character is. All the plot armor bullshit aside. He’s a really nuanced and complicated character. He changes his ideologies much like a lot of people do in real life. We see him grow as a character. Not just in power. Naruto’s character development seemed kind of linear. As for sasuke he goes through twists and turns. I could go on about why I think sasuke is actually a decent character. But that’s what’s cool about naruto. So many characters and opinions on each one. I think they’re all valid.

Sasuke is my personal favorite Naruto character, but I do agree that he has "main character plot armor". But that same thing goes for Naruto, he's always saved by Kurama, which is plot armor in itself.

I really like Sasuke’s first takeout death in the Land of Waves arc because narratively it shows us that Sasuke really cares about Naruto/his comrades and also how deadly the Nine tales is when naruto gets enraged. Kishimoto also shows us when Haku “kills” Zabuza that Haku has the ability to fake out kill people

Saskue is my favorite character in shonen. I would put him up there with my other favorites like Alucard and Guts, why because to me Saskue doesn’t feel like a typical shonen rival…Vegeta or Bakugo, he feels more like a Seinen protagonist I would even compare his story to Thorfinn from Vinland Saga. Saskue doesn’t care about the main character so much like other rivals in fact he doesn’t care about what anyone else thinks,he’s going to do what he’s going to do. To me Sasuke is a traumatized kid who was so full of rage and hate and never got the help from others like Naruto did. Naruto could of gone down that dark path but he had someone there for him in those moments. First he got saved by Iruka Sensei and than when fighting Pain, his father was there to save him from the nine tails fox and when he was just about to give up after Neji died he had Hinata by his side. In his darkest moments Saskue had no one, Itachi tried to be there for his little brother but failed and then the only people who were there was Orochimaru and Madara/Obito and they manipulated him to go on a dark path. Saskue character for me is well written and I like that we got to go on his journey. It was like I was watching a Seinen protagonist after losing everything becomes cold and ruthless and just mentally exhausted walk down a dark path and then tries to discover who he is. The sad part is instead of like other Seinen protagonist he is a broken traumatized kid.

I completely understand why people don't like or even hate Sasuke, I personally like him slightly more than Naruto and neither are in my top 5, they are in the top 10. I always use this argument to defend him (you can call it an excuse if you want not judging) can you honest to God say you can be a normal person if your whole family was slaughter by the man who was once your biggest hero who happened to also be your brother and he tells you he solely did it for power, at like 6 years old.

I disagree with some of the examples of plot armor, like against garra. There’s a lot of times in the series when characters would die if someone didn’t step in, I see that as something that they often do to generate hype but not necessarily plot armor. I think the same thing about the 5 kage summit example, he definitely made it through a lot of crazy stuff with the help of obito, but I see actual plot armor as when there isn’t a good reason why a character made it out, or something new was created just to bring the character back or something. I enjoyed this video as much as I enjoy Sasuke’s character. I’ve seen lots of different perspectives of his character and as I understand (and happely understand why a lot of people don’t appreciate him) I love how his development shows how down the road a person can go when using poor thinking patterns. Sasuke’s development may not make a lot of sense to most people, yet I see a good analogy in him to the distorted way a whole bunch of people operare from.

I didn't like Sasuke all the way up until the final fight with Naruto. Actually, I despised him. However, after him and Naruto fought, and he explained his behaviour was a result of his own insecurities and fear of abandonment it all made sense to me. Not to mention the fact he is a Uchiha adds to that, as they are very emotionally volatile. The fact that he refused a new arm infused with Hashirama's DNA offered from the Leaf also made me gain a ton of respect for him. Its like he felt that was a part of him atoning for his sins. Sharingan or not, missing an arm is extremely disadvantageous to a shinobi.

Some points. Why would Itachi slaughter his family and clan. Make his brother watch him kill all of them 518,400 times. Make him cut ties, be hell bent on revenge, and tell Sasuke to kill him. And become a traitor to the leaf and go through all of that for Sasuke just to later kill him does that make any sense to you. 2nd How you gonna explain the reason he doesn’t hang out with his daughter but say he’s a bad father. He has to keep Gods that destroy planets for fun away from Earth and learn info from them so Sarada and everybody can be safe. 3rd He already has Hashirama cells in him from Kabuto during the war. 4th 2 rinnegan would be more of detriment to him than 1. 1 Rinnegan already takes up most of his chakra, even Obito couldn’t handle 2. If you really wanna talk about Plot armor let’s talk about Naruto. Kuruma saves him with Haku. Kuruma Saves him against Orochimaru and the big snake. Saves him with Gammabunta. Sasuke literally rips out the man’s lung but because of Kuruma he doesn’t die. Let’s get into Shippuden Sasuke literally would’ve killed Team 7 with one move but because of plot Sasuke is told to come back inside. Naruto fights Pain gets folded but guess what because of Minato and Kuruma he doesn’t die. Obito literally rolls up on Naruto nobody even knew he was there but guess what Obito just wanna talk. Naruto later should’ve died 3 times but thanks to Kuruma, Hagoromo, and Sakura guess what still alive. Sasuke gathers up Indras arrow but guess what because Kuruma is there he gathers up Nature energy for Naruto why because of plot armor.

About the plot armor i cannot say much, i dont judge sasuke . About the 5 kage and killer bee tho, I don’t think its arrogance, he doesn’t think he can take the 5 kage, he’s just so blinded by his feelings that he doesn’t even take that in consideration, he just wanted to take danzou out. Honestly, I think Sasuke should've died to Deidara's C4, we never see Sasuke have an opportunity to put Deidara into genjutsu and there's no way he could get away from the micro bombs.

I love your content but its funny cuz I disagree with the Sasuke hate and plot armor. A.) Sasuke Vs. Haku: -Haku was stated to be too soft and too kind by Zabuza so I feel like its not head canon to say Haku was missing spots even if the Manga panel may have looked like it. B.) Sasuke Curse Mark: -Sorta plot armor but clearly having Uchiha blood (aka very closely related to Hagoromo and the Otsutsuki) its not that big of a deal to make his survival rate a bit higher. C.) Sasuke Vs. Gaara: -Sasuke just got saved by Naruto like a lot of people. Thats like saying Iruka has plot armor because Kakashi saved him from Pein. D.) Sasuke Vs. Deidara (Even though you didn’t mention this I figured it was still a talking point because people arguably bring up that more than anything regarding to Sasuke’s plot armor): -Sasuke was holding back and still won. He was still in “I don’t want to kill anyone” mode and could have used Dragon Flames when Deidara was on the C2 Dragon and then later Kirin and one shot easily but he let the battle drag out a while. E.) Taka Vs. Bee: -Sasuke kept getting saved by his teammates that he very carefully chose as supports so he could kill Itachi and later have other motives etc etc. -Yes Bee was stronger and Sasuke managed to “Win” but it’s not really plot armor to have a good team that YOU collected to help you during battles. F.) Sasuke Vs. Kage Summit (Mainly Ay): -Sasuke was fucking Ay IV up so badly that Ay had to cut his own arm off and need Shi/Cee to heal him (aka what you would say is plot armor according to the Taka Vs. Bee fight) and if he had Guillotine Drop Kicked Sasuke’s Kagutsuchi Susano’o rib cage, Sasuke would have just survived, grew his Susano’o to Skeletal, and Ay would have lost his leg and Sasuke would clap him.

I respect your opinion a lot, I watch you all the time I completely disagree tho. Naruto as a series isn’t the greatest shit ever, kishimotos writing is pretty hit or miss throughout the series especially in shippuden. But sasuke is the best written character in naruto, and arguably one of best written Deuteragonist in all of shonen. Sasuke story comes full circle within the series and kishimoto wrote sasuke in a very believable way. There’s was no action sasuke took that I would think to my self and go “sasuke wouldn’t do that” everything sasuke did was extremely in character, whether it was a good or bad decision.

Personally, I do find that Sasuke was mishandled but I don't fundamentally hate him as a character. I think he would've been used better if he was allowed to remain compassionate towards others and relearned the value of teamwork. Despite his desertion from the village and revenge quest he was actually the first member for team 7 to reach out for team work and still had some moments of his original friendlier disposition buried under all his trauma. He makes a good foil for Naruto but I'd rather that was played more in a way where Sasuke had his own respectable moral code like where they seemed to be going with him post Orochimaru. It'd help call into question some of the more messed up things Konoha was involved in and the need to address the systemic issues with ninja villages to make it a place he could reasonably be expected to return to. A big problem with how Naruto ended is that they raised societal problems within the setting and then never really dealt with them. Sure, Naruto talk no Jutsu'd people into getting along but beating up a handful of bad people doesn't actually fix things like kage and villages being a military dictatorship, child soldiers etc. It's a bit like the problems I have with how they handled Naruto's pent up resentment towards the village by him just being ok because they stopped abusing him when we could've gotten more nuanced commentary about the process of letting go of unhealthy hatred and resentment without ignoring the harm that was done. Both Naruto and Sasuke could've faced eachother with equally sympathetic goals and motives instead of having Sasuke just be the objectively bad one who's a jerk to everyone and has to cede entirely to Naruto to ignore his grievances to end the conflict.

The same way you feel about Sasuke is the same way I feel about Naruto. If Naruto didn't have 6th path of sage, 9 tails, and sage mode. He would be just a regular ninja. Don't get me started with Naruto plot armor it worst than Saskue. If Naruto didn't have 9 tails, he would of lost to pain and that's a fact.

Yea I disagree on this one... Sauske story is one that I personally can relate to as far as the brothers fighting and parents liked the older brother more is something that is so relatable to me and the fact that he's not just killing random people he's trying to make a better world in his own mind

Best boy picking teammates based on their abilities is plot armor because he didn't brainlessly enter battles without preparing? As is being aided by allies who we already knew were on the way (Naruto and Sakura). And surviving needles that were meant to knock him out like Zabuza from someone who didn't want to kill him (chapter 17, page 6 & c33, p4-5). Deidara surviving landmines and asspulling a Bijudama level explosion after him and Sasuke confirmed he had little chakra left is fine. But *Orochimaru absorbed* Sasuke who used Oro's chakra for snakes, and only said he was worn out from shocking himself with Chidori is plot armor. Yet Itachi surviving Kirin despite his condition is fine. And Sasuke should have died even though Itachi didn't want to kill him. The Kage "bodied him" even though no one even touched him aside from the Raikage at the cost of an arm. And particle jutsu should have killed him because non-canon anime screenshot showed him inside even though the manga didn't (c466, p14). The only good point you made was Madara, but Danzo wasn't immediately killed either when Sasuke pierced his heart.

I truly enjoy this video, even though i really appreciate Sasuke’s character. And most of all I cannot not agree Sasuke’s decision to not accept a repleacement arm is really stupid. I never made sense of him literally nerfing himself on purpose. I mean, if he cared about Konora enough, he would put if above his own issues and just choose what is better for the village. Like having the strongest version of him ever possible.

While it can be taken as plot armor (especially after the Deidara fight), I would like to think that most of everything was just planning. Sasuke's goal was to kill Itachi, who was in a group filled with S-ranked criminals. After he kills one, all of the others will turn their sights on him. So he needs a plan to survive them. So he recruited Karin for healing, Jugo for power, and Suigetsu as a human shield. Then, in a best-case scenario, where he killed Itachi, and Obito didn't talk to him, Sasuke would probably have gone back to the Leaf. He had no bounty, killed no one who didn't deserve it, and he could even be called a spy on Orochimaru's operations. At worst he went AWOL for a couple of years and came back with another Uzumaki, the source of all curse marks, and the water boy. They probably would have given him a clean slate.

Finally a person on RU-vid brave enough to say any of this. Mods on a Discord server I'm part of timed me out for a week because I called Sasuke crippled bc he's missing an arm and an eye.

Also, Sasuke is one of my top 3 favorite characters but after watching this video I’m subscribing, commenting and liking your videos.

One of the few things I like about Boruto is seeing Sasuke change. I didn't like him either in Shippuden (him Danzo and Sakura were my 3 least favorite characters) but in Boruto I kinda like him. I enjoyed seeing him trying to bond with Sarada(peanut), him and Boruto going back in time to see a young Naruto and how his friendship with Naruto has changed him.

Oh you undersold the Deidara bullshit. Not ONLY does he pull out the chakra to summon Manda, he has the chakra to put him under genjutsu, hop in his mouth, and then get "reverse summoned". All of that happens AFTER the blast goes off like 10 feet away from him.

1. Haku stated as you said, that his intent wasn't to kill, so he can still pierce his neck without killing him, as we saw when he threw senbons into Zabuzas neck. 2. He just is in that 10%, he is the reincarnation of Indra, if Jirobo can survive it so can Sasuke. 3.Gaara fight. Yes he got saved, people in Naruto tend to get saved in the last moment a lot, in fact you could give this argument for every single character in the series. 4.Firstly, it's not Sasukes problem that Karin is so into him that she allows him to treat her like that. Well yes, Bee did nearly kill Sasuke two times, but Sasuke was smart when forming Taka, Juugo and Karin just did what they were supposed to do. And then, boom, Amaterasu. 5.Again, Zetsu and Obito were there to save Sasuke from these kind of situations, he was manipulated to cause mayhem so Obito can enter and declare the war. There is no bs there, just a team of people helping each other, just like Taka. And Kamui is faster than particle release so.. 6.I don't understand what's the problem here. Yes Itachi was stronger, and we know his intentions. You can say that Itachi then could have killed Kakashi in part 1, it's the same as this. 7.Naruto also died and was saved from Sakura. I see no problem here. It's just that you don't like Sasuke so his revival is problem for you. 8.Sasuke stating he is nearly out of chakra is relative. It's not same when for example Kiba is nearly out of chakra and when Orochimaru absorbed Sasuke is nearly out of chakra. He does the smart move against the not so smart opponent. Also, Manda not liking Sasuke is irrelevant, he can control all the bijuus with his sharingan so I am pretty sure he can do the same with Manda. When explosion occured Manda wasn't in the range because it was reverse summoned back where it normaly resides. So when explosion stopped it was summoned back, Simple as that. Felt the need to write these things, Sasuke is my favorite but i understand why a lot of people dislike him. Anyway, love your videos!

Personally Sasuke is my favorite anime character. He does what he wants and accomplishes mostly all his missions and puts his goals first unlike Naruto (beta) Sasuke is a true alpha that grows through taking on near impossible task. Totally understandable why somebody would prefer mc like Naruto, only the 1% can relate to Sasuke 🤷🏾‍♂️

Sasuke could summon Manda as he had the summoning seal on his arm. It’s the same way Orochimaru summoned him against Jiraiya and Tsunade. Summoning Manda in this way uses no chakra so that wasn’t a plot armor.

Sasuke is a very well written character. He’s a complex character that has a lot of trauma he changes his ways of thinking a lot because of what he’s been through. Bro is the kind of guy that thinks Itachi can beat Madara

I honestly don't understand why people consider characters playing roles and having motivations and abilities as plot armor. Abilities we've seen before, to be specific. We've seen reverse-summoning *and* Manda, so that ability wasn't an ass-pull, considering we knew he wasn't out of chakra since his Sharingan was active. And we saw Amaterasu and knew Sasuke was going to get an MS ability, so getting Amaterasu during his fight against B also just isn't plot armor. And Sasuke went out of his way to assemble team Hebi/Taka, so how's it plot armor to use their abilities? It just doesn't make sense to consider narrative elements as plot armor just because you don't like them

Just something I want to point out about the whole Manda thing that didn't get brought up. Not only did Sasuke summon Manda (the boss snake summon) when he virtually had no chakra, he also used his Sharingan to force Manda to obey. Again, Sasuke couldn't even maintain the Sharingan at this point. But it gets worse: Sasuke did all of that AFTER the C0 had already gone off! So, to whit, Sasuke would have to: 1). Bit his thumb for blood. 2). Swipe said across the summoning tattoo on his arm or do the jutsu normally. 3). Manda would have to arrive. 4). Sasuke would then have to make eye contact with his Sharingan and cast the genjutsu. 5). Manda would have to scoop Sasuke into his mouth, because Sasuke couldn't really move at this point. So, all of that, after an explosion (that cover 10 km in seconds) had already gone off and Sasuke was sitting just some feet away from the detonation site! There's no way in Hell that he did all of that in such minuscule timeframe, even if he had the chakra, which he didn't. I literally consider this the biggest asspull in the series as there's no way to make it work like it did.

Tbh I hated sasuke from the very beginning, he was cocky, arrogant, and a jerk to everyone around him. When sasuke “killed” Karin I was pissed and honestly that fight made me like Danzo as a character more than sasuke. In boruto sasuke is traveling around “repenting” for his actions but he is still in the wrong because he abandoned his family. I know that he lost his at a very young age but he is still not trying to have a family in fact he pays more attention to boruto then his own fing daughter. Sasuke = unforgivable asshole
