This whole heaven/hell narrative always baffles me with it's sheer lack of empathy. I couldn't imagine myself being happy in heaven knowing that other humans are suffering in hell at the same time.

Hell is the separation from god. So if you never followed god or seemed him then, god loves you too much to bring him in your presence. I wish all females would re-evaluate my situation. I was tortured, drugged, and raped when I was 13 years old, but females showed me mercy and I snapped out of it. My goal is to do my part to return the favor. When I came out of the hospital, I was only 17 years old and recovering from a stroke. I was not in my right state of mind, and I wanted too much. I admit that, but I got mercy and now I want to do everything I can to help all females. How we're raised matters. I know an Italian girl who really hates what she did in the past. She was brought up in the mafia, but she changed. It's all about how we're raised, and I think sometimes people are lucky enough to snap out of it and come back to sanity. Stumbled across the debate between Jex and the WBC and then had to watch this one. I just wanted to say i highly appreciate Jex for doing these debates and remaining so composed. I don't know how many times i got frustrated with the opposition just WATCHING these videos. So much credit to her.
Jex, Do you ever use textual criticism in these type of debates? For example Rick quotes matthew , I think it might be beneficial to the audience to point out that Matthew is actually an anonymous account which was written decades later and is NOT a contemporary eye-witness account. Darken I could...but I feel like arguing on the merits of biblical text is a loosing game. A believer is going to dismiss whatever challenge I propose no matter how reasonable. I try to focus on the structure of religion for those who are considering the overall concepts. But you make a great point.

I was a christian for many years and wasn't aware of those facts about the gospels, I agree it might not directly persuade anyone but I think it plants a seed of doubt as to the veracity of the claims being made (specifically those about jesus since the gospels are all we have of him). There aren't secular historians who wrote about any of the miracles, the 500 people who supposedly rose from the dead, or the eclipse that happened when he was crucified, or the earthquake that supposedly happened, etc.. The gospels are anonymous, we don't know who wrote them as they didn't tell us (or their sources). Also note that they are NOT eye-witness accounts , they were also written 50-140 years later AFTER his death. My point previously is that if given all this information about the gospels (which is all we have regarding jesus) that it makes them very unreliable. @Kevin Johnson Darken didn't say anything about Jesus not being real. Only that the name that we ascribe to the people that wrote about them, are exactly that, ascribed. They are not eye witness testimony as he said, but stories written from second thiered or more accounts by unknown authors. John was not written by John, Luke was not written by Luke etc. This is something almost all biblical bible believing scholars will tell you. Mot of these Christian historians will even tell you Moses is a mythological character based on one from 500 years prior. I think Jesus was real. But I also think Hercules was real.
Kevin Johnson Can you explain why you are going against the dates of the majority of scholars? You see the historians who study the gospels give ranges , somewhere around 70-140AD. If you can prove the exact dates you give I’m sure you’d get the attention from people who have dedicated their lives to studying these texts. The copies of copies being similar doesn’t do much for me as to proving it to be true. If we make a bunch of copies of Harry Potter does that make it more true? Comparing the history of ceasar to the Bible isn’t really comparable if ceasar didn’t claim to raise people from the dead or other super natural things. You see extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Sure we can take stories in history with a measured level of confidence but when people claim to fly or rise from the dead which violates known laws of the universe we should be skeptical.

It seems the burden of proof is in evidence that God inspired the scriptures. How about this little tactic I hear form my religious friends? When I see the proof of the validity of the Bible, I will know it. I have heard from those friends that all I have to do is "Study the Bible, pray about it, allow Jesus into your heart, and you will know when it happens." Been there, done that and nothing was revealed that was convincing.

How do I know this I have watched all of those videos and fact-checked them since my father who was a preacher showed me them to try to bring me back to Christianity. It’s important for religious people too,earn from those who are not because these people do what is right because they feel and believe it is, not because they hope they get into heaven. They don’t expect a gift or prize (like going to heaven) from doing a good deed, they do it because they believe it’s right and that’s what people should do regardless.

My English teacher once said “what’s heaven for you may not be heaven for another person”. He asked a student what their ideal heaven would be (example: they don’t want turtles in heaven) then he exclaim but what if so and so love turtles and want to see the everyday how would this work? It’s complicated the think about but honestly I don’t believe heaven or hell exists for that explanation. (Also may I state that my English teacher wasn’t trying to convince people that their beliefs aren’t real, he was trying to make a point about logic. I also believe he might be religious but just might have questions about the concept of heaven or hell)

I am incredibly highly intelligent. I was a math scholar in my 20's, but while I was growing up, I was stopped from doing my work. I've seen it all of my life. The old regretting woman, but childhood dream has always been about finding a way to stop the curse. I disagree with what was done to women. The devil didn't want me to free women. Had my childhood not been altered, I would have done it. I would've found a technology that would've stopped the curse. A few years back, I couldn't get anyone to believe it, but then I got the degree that I earned many years ago. I have amazing skills. Lavey got his hands on that technology before I did. What has he done to prevent the bad part of life? He just wanted to rule. I didn't want to rule. I wanted to free us. Satanists claim to want freedom, but they hindered my work: That work would've freed us to have the things that we love without facing a price for it later on. I even proved that I feel very bad for women. I stayed with my mother in her last days, and I did everything I could to protect her. But, last days? If I'd been left alone, she would've never had to face that horror. I would've succeeded in freeing us. These women are supporting the very being that trapped them in the first place. Like I've said many times over: I don't agree with the curse.
