4:12 I can't imagine that smelling particularly pleasant considering hooves are made of the same material as nails and hair. Mad respect for not dropping unconscious on the spot from the burning hair smell.

Does the hoof burning part do anything other than just looking really cool? lol.

Hoof burning "levels" the horse shoe into the foot. If he just put it on cold, there might be gaps here and there. By burning it into the hoof, you get flat, level contact between the hoof and the horse shoe with no gaps and therefore no rocking. I have NEVER done this, but I've watched so many of these videos, I feel like an expert now!
