I finally tackled the spiders in my garden shed! In this week's video, I have a satisfying garden shed declutter and a mini makeover. If you have been wanting to tackle decluttering your garden shed, then I hope this video gives you some cleaning motivation.
How to paint your garden shed -
Prep, clean away dirt, cobwebs and grime. power washing is great, but if you do not have one, you can use a bucket of warm soapy water and a brush.
Use a wire brush to remove any flaking paint before painting.
Garden paint and specialist paint is better for painting outdoor furniture. I used Autentico Versante Matt in the shade Regency White. This paint has a built-in primer and UV protection. I used 3 litres for my shed.

@@CVenza Hey, the greenhouse is 8ft X 8ft and not sure about the shed, it is small, roughly 6ft X 4ft. but not definite.

Love this video and the robin singing. Isn’t it amazing how much room you have in a shed when you clean it out. It’s beautiful now. My friends thought I was silly to paint the inside of my shed. I just said it makes me happy when I walk in.

Everything you do is beautiful, inspirational, and just what our eyes, hearts, and souls crave. ❤️🤍💚💕. Isn’t it special to have a brother who loves you enough to come by and help. My brother lives 600 miles away, yet will be coming to see me tomorrow for a week’s visit to help me in the yard and garden. I gave this a thumbs up when you were tackling emptying the shed. That fact that you did it IN A DRESS, impressed me no end! While I'm not afraid of spiders, I still would have been in jeans, the legs tucked into boots, long sleeve shirt, work gloves, and my hair well covered with a kerchief! It looks very nice, great job.

I got one of the Rubbermaid storage benches to set on the side of my house in a small garden area. The bottom is a big storage area I use to store all my saved wood! It keeps it dry & protected but it still useful for seating. I made cushions for it there is just enough room left to tuck inside during bad weather. Great job on the potting shed! It looks so clean & crisp inside & out now.

You did a great Catherine, a good declutter and a lick of paint does wonders. I’m not scared of spider’s but petrified of mice and rat’s. When I first moved into my home a rat ran from under my shed. I rang the council and they asked did I use bird feeders, I did. They said that’s why, and I live around the corner from a canal. I didn’t think about rat’s and canal situation when I bought my house, I still check the shed before I go in 😂 21 yrs later 😊 Have a lovely weekend 😊💖

In my shed I'd be more watchful for snakes and mice rather than spiders!! I have read that Ireland doesn't have any snakes! Wow!! Love seeing you use the spray painter. That sure looks easier than brush painting and so much faster!! Looks great! Another job well done Catherine!!

We use a cling film on our window on our shed, no one can see in but it lets the light in! GREAT little shed. You did better than I would have cleaning it out. HA!

A good de clutter of anything- a drawer, a room or a shed is sooooo satisfying. I love a good clear out. I have gone from being a collector ( Im not going to say hoarder!) to being a minimalist- and I love it!!

The shed looks awesome! You're so talented with building things, I'd get some scrap pallet wood and build a little side shed to your shed for the lawnmower, that way you can freely pot up anything without having to move stuff around! Plus, I'd love to learn how to do that and I know you have the smarts!! :) I LOVE the shelf on the outside of the shed!!!

Laughing my head off! I used to care for an elderly gentleman (sadly he died of covid). I cleaned out his shed one day, years ago, and a friggin mouse ran out!! I have recently moved to a 3 bedroomed bungalow with lots of fruit trees and 2 Olive trees. I've done a ton of stuff including a rockery today. My husband keeps saying it'll be maintenance soon. He doesn't understand that a gardener is always striving for that certain something to be added to the garden. My next purchase will be a Summerhouse. But before I get that I need to rebuild a wooden arch that I found by the bin 😀

Great declutter video Catherine. You were so brave tackling the spider carpet lol. I'm terrified of spiders and would ask my husband to deal with them but he doesn't like them either lol. Your shed is so tidy it's fab. We have three sheds in our small garden a daddy shed, mummy shed and a baby shed. We have no garage like at our cottage so had to put up my wee small old shed and hubby had to buy a new shed to put his Motorbike in which he put beside the shed that came with our house. In my big shed we have it full of tools and DIY stuff and two metal tables and 8 chairs and a 8 seater dining table a toilet tent and two deck chairs and a sun lounger and a large parasol and a gazebo and an outdoor coffee table sofa and two arm chairs plus a fudge freezer and a tall larder freezer. Barely room to move in there can't wait til the storms and bad weather stops so I can empty the shed and put all the furniture back outdoors and get the gazebo back up. Like you I would love a greenhouse but have no space left lol. I would use a greenhouse as like a mini orangery and put a wee seat and table in it with some pretty flowers in pots and a wee outdoor chandelier 😊. Look forward to seeing your greenhouse once it comes 😊xx

Love how excited you are about a greenhouse, my partner came back with one last week for me that he bought for £50, most of the glass in intact apart from a couple of pieces. I was soooo excited. Alot of women would love to be brought back diamonds, no not me much prefer a green house.❤️

Perfection ! First place award for :Spider Relocation " to Catherine . ..Good job...Great video. You make everyones day... Just a thought . .I live in Florida - Home of every creepy crawling slithering hopping creature. Even frogs with suction cups on their feet that crawl up your windows, doors, siding. Want to visit ? Back to the point. Next time out see if you can find to buy a small can of pressurize "Raid "brand maybe - comes in various sizes - "bug bomb". Once every couple of months Set one out in the shed- remove cap and set to spray. Close door. Wait overnight and then reopen shed, ventilate and you are good to go. PS love your new sprayer. Rinse very well when not in use....

Great job getting past the spiders. We have redbacks and huntsmans in ours. I don't mind spiders but those huntsmans are huge and fast and hide in little crevices and give you a fright even though they are harmless.

Congratulations on conquering the fear of spiders! Great little shed, can't wait to see how you finish it up for potting. The green house sounds exciting and will love to have one myself when I get my own place.

Your garden shed looks great !! HINT : Next time you deal with spidery areas, put on some gloves! Gardening gloves, rubber gloves, whatever: It always makes me feel better that any " creepy crawly" things won't touch my hands!!! ps, I kept thinking that that orange paint you accidentally spilled would look really cute as floor paint! :)

The spider fear is real 😂 reminded me of mum and I tidying the summerhouse and we saw lots of massive spiders...the screaming 😱😱 hilarious! Goodness knows what the neighbours thought 😄🕷🕸🥵

Having just done a shed declutter and organization a few weeks ago, I know just how satisfying this is! But I didn’t paint my shed. Yours is just so dainty and quaint💙💜
