I have been searching for ages for a SAT NAV updated SD CARD for my wife's 2017 fiesta. Thought there would be a version 8 of the white card but could not find one. Now ordered the Bosch alternative that you showed. Great thanks.
Hi, this is really helpful! My late 2016 Fiesta's sat nav is really out of date, and in some circumstances I have actually got lost on journeys, as roads disappeared from view at times! Looks like mine will now work, as I've just got a new card on ebay, and its exactly the same as the bosch one you are holding up. Wasn't sure if you had to 'install' then set it up, hence my search for help here. Glad to know now it's just basically plug and play! Cheers!
Yep. No mention of the well hidden SD card slot and replacement in the Ford manuals. I noticed an empty SD card box in the pack I got when I bought the car second hand so started checking RU-vid. It’s almost as if Ford want to keep the SD slot and replacement procedure secret so they can charge you a lot at the dealers. Who’d have thought it…😂
I have a 2016 Titanium trim, I gave the satnav a try the other week and it was pretty accurate baring the speed limit it gave was wrong in certain areas (said it was a 40 when signs outside said it was a 60). Apart from that it seems ok, i can see the car's satnav better than Waze as my phone holder hides part of the phone behind my steering wheel. Waze also has the annoying thing where it changes your route to save 3 minutes then you find yourself going down a thin crack floored dirt track.
I have never tried Waze, the satnav normally does a good job, but my Daughter has moved to a new housing development and it can't find that. I use Google maps to go there, that is precise and also shows the speed cameras.
@@imswitchedon Yeah it threw me off for a second when was going 60 then glanced at the car SatNav and it said it was a 40. Then i saw a national speed sign outside and i thought "I knew i was right". Waze is good in terms of constantly updating but it does have a habit of sending you down some silly narrow roads just to save a few minutes.
Thanks for the video. I have a 2015 fiesta Titanium X but the satnav won’t accept 7 digit postcodes, only 6 digit ones. For example WV11 1PB can’t be entered, the WV11 part is the problem. If I buy an updated card will this allow me to input 7 digit post codes, or will it only update the map data? Thanks.

@@imswitchedon Brilliant, thanks. I have recently purchased a 2016 Fiesta ST-2 which I assume still had the original maps with it. Is there any difference between this one (with it being Bosch/TomTom) and the official Ford maps? Despite it being more up to date.
Thankyou. Ford are shockingly useless. A 2017 Fiesta does not have any "GU11" postcodes, and took me to "GU1", when they existed in 1980, 1995, ... At first I thought I had mis-typed, but the GU11 prefix was truncated. What they sell is not fit for release to the public. Well maybe there's tight deadlines, etc, but the fix, the upgrade, requires paying the dealer. The only design worse than that, is the windscreen reflects the patterned dashboard, so it is like looking through a greasy screen. Did they not even notice? Do they care? I dont think so. Anyway, encouraged by this video, the SD arrives in 2 days, so hopefully thankyou.
@@imswitchedon you tell me a of what it looks like with a Bosch SD card because I have a Western Europe Sd sat nav v4.1 Ford will it look any different etc or it will it be the same as the memory card you had before
